I have nearly 70 years experience of music recording – and seven years ago, I started using sE microphones.
I have used sE-X1R, sE-X1 & sE3 microphones for recording orchestras, choirs, string quartets, soloists and classical guitars, and have produced many CDs.
I rate the microphones highly, but on three of them, a problem arose with the ‘rubberised’ paint, which was introduced around 2011/2012 : in my case, it ultimately degraded and became very sticky.
I reported this problem to sE on Christmas Eve 2020 – and the matter was satisfactorily resolved by Boxing Day 2020 (amazing customer service over a public holiday!). I was informed that replacement units would be despatched on the 5th January 2021 – and these were received on the 8th January2021.
This is clearly a case of excellent microphones being backed up by unbeatable customer service – and I would have no hesitation in recommending sE Electronics both for the high quality of their products and for the prompt and sympathetic customer service that I have received from them.
My rating is certainly 5-star on all counts!

Previously bought sE Electronics 2200a II Multi-pattern, after several years the product's surface getting sticky (probably because of rubber coating). Hence, I contacted sE Electronics for product support. Without a doubt, they send me a new sE2300 as compensation for the product defect. I'm totally satisfied with the efficient and professional service from sE Electronics and recommend for you all to have it.

There is no user guide in the box, only a note that tells you to find it on the homepage, but there is also no user guide there.
There is no LED to tell you if the microphone is on or not/working properly.
There is no LED to tell you if it’s time to replace the battery, and you don’t get any information about how long you can expect the battery to last, but the LED will tell you... oh, no it won't.
The sound quality is okay and on a par with the Røde VideoMic Pro.
