I got in touch with Sell Retro to sell some videos, cds and vinyl. They bought some from me which I was grateful for. Communication was good, clear and constant throughout. I sent the box of items by courier paid for by Sell Retro and received payment as soon as they received and checked the items. I am happy with the ease of selling and with the payment I received.

My friends dad passed and left over 1100 vhs films. In that collection we removed the Star Wars to keep but couldn’t find episode 3.
We took pictures of all the films spines and sent to this company. We was offered £300 to deliver them but couldn’t so he offered £200 for collection.
When he arrived we explained the situation and that film needs to come out. He got really funny and even threatened to leave without taking any if we didn’t include this film. It left my friend in a situation needing money towards a funeral which this guy knew about!
He took this film with a lot of others but left approx 6 boxes full of vhs without looking through them. This left my friend upset he has all the other Star Wars films but episode 3 now and to then find out several days later that this particular film was valued at approximately £150-£200!!!

This guy clearly knew what this was worth and didn’t care to be honest. Threatening to leave without taking any if he couldn’t take all films was 1 thing but to then leave with this film and also leaving 6 big boxes full without looking at them is another.
He paid my friend £200 for 800 vhs film and said this was a good deal……… I told this guy I was going to write a bad review and he was not happy and was rude and threatening as a result. As soon as he left I was blocked and feel like he absolutely scammed and screwed my poor friend off and he knew what he was doing by taking advantage of him in his situation. My friend. Also has begged me not to write this from fear of backlash but I refuse to let this guy get away with treating people like this.

I don’t appreciate being called a liar about what’s happened nor do I think it’s acceptable to label my attitude as he says roadman talk. I simply said and I quote that the information regarding this film I thought I had explained properly but it turned out. I explained it to another person who was also interested so there was a breakdown in communication.
The fact I was keeping the other five films it would be stupid and idiotic not to complete the set by keeping the episode three as now we have an incomplete set.
I’m not at all suggesting that you didn’t have room in the car to put the remaining six boxes of Vhs cassettes in because you didn’t have room what I’m disputing is the fact that you point blank refused to take any of the films if this episode three was not included as you wanted to take all of the films and the fact that you left six boxes behind because they wouldn’t fit in a car it wouldn’t hurt of you to have left that one film that we wanted and explained why.
It is a rare film and it would’ve been idiotic to send it given the value of the film was approximately what you paid for all of the films that you took meaning for south of that one film would’ve got most of if not all of your money back and you would’ve profited off the other hundred hundreds of Vhs films you took.
You knew the value of this film, which is why he put my friend in that situation because he didn’t have a clue and I stand firm that you took advantage of that.

My message to you after you had left, even though I wasn’t there was a valid message and whether or not my friend said I wouldn’t write a complaint of a review is one thing but I am also a man of my word if I say I’m going to do something I am going to do it and I think it’s only fair that people know this story so that in future others can doublecheck what they are selling because if they do have a diamond in the rough or something rare or vintage and they are unaware of it you are going to exploit that and that is not fair all good business all good practice.
Frost to complete this Vhs cassette collection now it is going to cost us almost what you paid him for the hundreds of films that you have had.

I am only standing up for my friend who has been walked all over because of his situation and whilst he may want to avoid any stress due to his current situation this should no longer involve him and only myself because I will always Speak Up for those that can’t Speak Up for themselves.

Also accusing myself of wanting to sell these for my friend and not give him a cut it’s just your assumption. He is my best friend and I wouldn’t do such a thing to anybody so please do not brush me up with the same cloth as you because I’m cut from a better cloth and as an honest and decent one that doesn’t take advantage of people.
If you had to leave another couple of hundred films behind because you didn’t have room for them it wouldn’t have hurt for you to have left that one particular film but again you knew the value of that film which is why you behaved the way you did, and that’s what’s angered me.
My friend is gutted but doesn’t want any hassle or stress because he feels nothing can be done about it and the only way I’m going to retract this bad review is if that film is returned to him.

Whilst having a tidy up recently I discovered a very large box of old VHS tapes that I had completely forgotten about. Sadly, I no longer had room for the tapes, but I couldn't find a charity shop that would accept them. So, I searched online for a solution and found SellRetro.co.uk. He asked me to send some group photos of my VHS tapes, and he contacted me straight back to confirm that he wished to buy them. He offered me a really decent price there and then, and he even offered to arrange and pay for the collection and postage costs of all the tapes from my home. On receipt of the tapes, Braedon paid in full into my bank as promised. I couldn't believe what an easy process it was. I had some records for sale that I had inherited so I contacted sell retro who offered me a fair price for the ones they needed. Payment was fast and as soon as the items arrived. Will use again

I have just completed a sale of my unwanted music cassettes.
The experience was straight forward and a very positive experience.
I sent photos of all the cassettes and sellretro picked out the ones they wanted.
Unfortunately I didn't check them and sadly some of them didn't play properly.
Despite this I was offered a very fair price and I received the payment within 12 hours of offer.
I will definitely be using this company again.

Not happy at all. I tried to contact them 3 times and heard no response and so I tried contacting them again and they FINALLY responded. I showed pictures of 32 VHS tapes, 15 if them which were extremely rare as not many even exist and apparently they had ALL of the VHS tapes, some of them apparently in multitude. I highly doubt they had them all especially as some of them as I said are extremely rare and I looked around and I couldn't even find them at all.
So I didn't even get round to selling anything to them as they just lied to me clearly because some of them I'd you search for them online nothing comes up due to the rarity.

I was recommended this company to sell some vhs tapes. My mum currently owned them and being 78years old she decided it was time for a smaller property so she had been down sizing. My mum has always taken care of her property so I felt no need to check the for damages ect she owns a vhs recorder so had checked them all to make sure they were working which they did. This company bought 8 vhs tapes from me 1 was only values at about £1.50 and the other 7 were each valued at just over £10 each. My mum just wanted a quick sale so gave this company a huge cut sale price of £20 plus postage. All fine and sorted until today I received photos of what I am informed is mold but can barely see anything on the tapes and one which contained writing. All fine I offered he send the damaged back and I will refund £10. He filed a dispute with PayPal and wanted full refund and to keep the vhs tapes. My partner phoned him and he agreed on £10 and keep the damaged. I think this is disgusting considering I sold them for a huge cut price but to now be ripped off even more. I mean it's not just me he has taken advantage of but a 78 year old women. My mum is quite upset over this and feels scammed. Please never use this company and I hope they feel ashamed of themselves.

This is the second time I have used this company and again I have been treated to an outstanding , efficient and personable service. I would highly recommend.
