Great customer service/ website needs reviewing

I was sending my bags half way across the world for the first time and felt quite nervous to do so. The information online for sending UK to Australia was quite confusing and upon calling the company a few times was told it needed to be updated on the website. The information about what needed to be printed/ what was required paperwork for customs in Aus is apparently no longer needed however it’s still up on the website.

What is great about the company is their customer service. Every person I spoke to was calm, patient and informative . I really appreciated their time and their ability to answer all of my questions.

The only other issue was that the suitcases I sent were absolutely bartered on the other end. However, this is pre-warned when booking that their may be some damage to carriers. It also is likely that it’s out of the Send My Bag’s hands as they use various transport companies to do the shipping.

Overall, I’m glad the content of my bags arrived safely (even if the outside was completely shredded) and I would consider using the company again in the future.

Really fast delivery, easy process, but +25% additional fees!

Sent a bag from New Zealand to Germany. Delivery was really fast, tracking was exact and date of delivery was exactly as planned.
I am not really sure if it was Send my Bag’s fault or Fed Ex’s fault (delivery was by Fed Ex), but I had to pay +25% to Fed Ex when the bag arrived because there were some “service fees and toll fees” to be paid… I don’t know why they can’t say that before you send your bag, because you have to make an exact list of what is in your bag, and I think like this they should know how much extra fee/tolls you have to pay and they should inform you about that!

Reviewing your order I can see you contacted us at lunchtime on the day of your collection providing us with a room number that had been omitted from the address.

We explained that we couldn't guarantee the driver would see this on their scanner if we passed it across, as they were out on the road. You asked if dropping off was a viable option, the team provided you with the nearest location and your item was dropped off that afternoon.

A few hours later you had contacted us via live chat again to advise that your delivery address was also missing a room number, but as your item was now in transit, this information would need to be passed to the courier directly. Whilst we will always try and engage with the courier on a customers behalf, some countries require the consignee to speak to them directly about their delivery & delivery changes, your destination was one of them.

Your shipment travelled on the network as normal and was delivered within estimate on 7th April.

Reliable and trustworthy

I’ve used this company many times over the years from my university days until now when I’ve moved countries. I’ve always found the service reliable and easy to use. It’s also great not having the stress of dealing with heavy suitcases in a busy airport!

Reviewing your order I can see that you spoke to the team via live chat on 13th April after your delivery had been attempted on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th April, advising you had missed the delivery both times.

You had requested that we arrange for the item to be held for collection as you couldn't ensure you could be home throughout the day. We submitted the request and your item was collected on 15th April.

There are no notes on your order that mention any contact after delivery in regards to the condition of your bike box. I will email you directly so that we can discuss this further.

US Customs are still adjusting to significant processing changes rolled out by the US Government on the 29th August 2025.

While shipments containing personal belongings are exempt from the changes and should still be cleared tax and duty free, due to confusion surrounding the implementation of the new rules, we are finding around 5% of our shipments to the USA globally, are currently being miscategorised by US Customs with c. $25-100 in associated fees being applied.

*Shipments from the UK are currently being affected at a higher rate and we are working with our partners to resolve this as soon as possible.

I will ask our customs team to review your personal effects form and will reach out to you to discuss further as we may be able to dispute these with the courier.

Unexpectedly good

From pick up - to transit -to delivery everything was easy.

The pickup was easy and quick.
Transit- I could follow everything day by day and that was amazing.

Dilvery- it was on the first of the 2 promised days. The only minor thing is that the box has been thrown over the gate as no one was home. Luckily i had only clothes and non breakable items in there.

DONT USE

Wow! What a genuinely atrocious service. I mean, I am in disbelief. 1 star feels nice, couldn’t put 0, hence it’s their lucky day!
The entire premise of the service is to have everything paid for and sorted. Essentially, Send my bag just buy postage off FedEx, dpl etc.- no issues there, as that saves me a lot of effort moving from one country to another! The problem arose 3 weeks after I sent my bags, receiving a £21 returned goods fee. I was under the impression this was a mistake, I told FedEx this. They then took it to control accounts and debt collection, £20 added weekly! Send my bag refused to pay THEIR debt, claiming the onus is on me. I righty said if you want to place the onus on me, you’d have had to have said a long time ago about this fee and to pass it on to themselves. Anyways, 5 months pass, send my bag take ages to reply, have no appreciation for the stress this causes people to be maliciously harassed for money they don’t owe. They admitted on week one of this whole scenario it was their debt. They made me pay it and said they’d pay me back. I have no legal obligation to do that I’m frankly just bored of their ridiculous customer service (or lack there of) Now they’re faffing about. Can’t wait to get my money back.

Were good but I wouldn't recommend after this mishap

My original request was to have a collection from Manchester the Thursday 30 April and arrive to London Friday 1 May however the Fedex driver failed to contact me or the concierge at the apartment building and I had to get this rescheduled for the following day.

I’ve had this collected Friday 1 May from Manchester and it is expected to arrive Tuesday 5 May due to a bank holiday weekend and I won’t be available for. I understand this is a bank holiday weekend but I was hoping I could at least collect due to this mishap.

Although the Live Support had been responsive but I’ve been upset that I haven’t been able to get some sort of resolution. I was happy with the level of service I had before but now I would look at other courier services or avoid and not recommend sendmybag to anyone due to the service I had.

Reviewing your order I can see that you had noted your collection address was an apartment complex, and provided your apartment number. But the address didn't advise of an available concierge or buzzer details, which is likely to have contributed towards the unsuccessful collection.

We rescheduled this for the next working day, and updated the address to include the 'concierge in the address, I'm glad to see this was successfully collected.

We have submitted the request with our courier partner for the item to be held for collection as you asked via live chat shortly before publishing your review, however as the courier are closed today, we will follow this up tomorrow morning to establish if this is possible to arrange for the same day.

Everything went well

Everything went well; the items arrived in good condition and on time. The only downside is that the person who collects the boxes doesn't come to get them; you have to bring them down to the building entrance yourself.
