Needs improvement

I wore their calming t shirt on a day I was really struggling but I don't think it made a difference. I could have worn any other t shirt really..so I'm confused as to what it actually does. Also their products arrive with no instructions in the package like in the case of their pvc(?) cushions which have these odd bumps on the surface and are not comfortable whatsoever. Took me till the 3rd day to realise why I couldn't sit on it without it sticking to my skin because I scanned the information on the site carefully and found a link to a video that shows you have to blow it up then use a stopper which had long been thrown away accidentally along with the packaging. The most disappointing experience however was with the egg changing light which stopped working after a few days without warning. They did refund me but overall it's been an underwhelming experience..

Update on 1st august -
I have added one more star but only for their customer service because the cushion issue was rectified yesterday via a replacement stopper arriving (eventually)as well as a free item they had included. I'm now keen to try more items from them to see how it goes as it appears they do have a caring customer service but I do hope they improve because all their reviews on their site are positive despite some products not necessarily meeting the expectations

The weighted blanket was rubbish

The weighted blanket was rubbish, fell off the bed, every single pocket could be felt individually, it wasn't at all comfortable. I stuck.with it for ages but it didn't improve, I left it too long to return which was fair enough but then they told me it was "too late" for me to leave a review on their website. Which explains why everything has five stars and there is only about 20 reviews.
This is basically false advertising to claim all their stuff is five stars when it quite clearly isn't. Shame on them.

Shipping Cost Ridiculous

Bought 2 pair of seamless socks for my Grandson... Price was £9.95. Shipping on these two tiny pair of children's socks was £5.95!
The socks were never worn and were returned as they were too small.
I had to pay for the postage to return and I did not get back the £5.95. It cost me money for NOTHING.

Exceptional Service


Purchased a child's puzzle from Sensetoys, part of Sensory Direct at 50% of the price of other retailors plus 10% off for being a new customer. Their communication was exceptional and it arrived well packaged after only 2 days with just the standard shipping chosen. I can honestly say that this retailer is legit and goes above and beyond many others.

Customer service is brilliant

Customer service is brilliant.
I had not received any details about my parcel being delivered as Fedex didn’t leave a delivery note. It was sent back to sensory direct so I called and asked as to what I can do. They are re sending the order today and I don’t need to wait for them to receive my items back. Super helpful. Will always use this company for anything sensory x

Not fit for purpose ear defenders

I'm lost for words. Rubbish. The spring is so tight its a struggle to open them every single time. The ear covers don't stay in position and spin, back to closed. I trapped my little finger trying to open them.
Don't buy. Cheap. Also charged £5.95 postage for what I believed was signed for postage but parcel just left on door step. I was going to return these but when you read the return process its too expensive to choose recorded etc.

Weighted hoodie (adult)

At first I was skeptical. How could this hoodie be weighted but look unnoticeable? It arrived quicker than expected and was much better than I first thought. The fact that you can take the weights out to wash the hoodie is amazing and the fact that it’s made for adults as well is fantastic. Most products in terms of sensory stuff is usually for kids only so being a adult who’s autistic i was happy to see sensory direct was child and adult inclusive.

I Tried calling them several times but no one answered and was only able to leave voicemail. So unprofessional. I'm not impressed.
I was not contacted back and I was left wishing I'd gone elsewhere.

Love the weighted neck wrap

I ordered a neck weight for myself as an autistic adult. Gosh I am so pleased with this I felt it important to write a review. It's helping my so much. Its great design and feels lovely. Love the extra touch of a little piece of smooth ribbon like material at one end, a great addition for stimming when needed. I ordered a eye weight too and although I feel it would be better for me to have a bit more weight, that's personal preference. but it really helps me to lay it over my fore head and the large neck on across my torso when I am laying down and its absolutely amazing and de stressing me and giving me that sensory deep pressure feedback I need. I use the neck wrap by putting it over my shoulders but not across my actual neck as the weight would hurt me personally so I position it across both shoulders. wow. amazing. I have also used it on my lap when needed. Thanks for these products. really pleased.

AVOID!

AVOID!! sent damaged items and when I asked for a refund they said no as i had left a bad review in the past. never used them and never left a review. Trading standards are aware.

Utter rubbish company. Save yourself.

I would have happily given minus stars, if that was an option. These people are there to rip you out. I got an item based on its description which said suitable for 3-10 age and hold up to weight 10-70 kgs. I ordered it for then 8 year old child. She wouldn't fit in that though she was very petite and weighing only 20kgs or so. I repeatedly asked and tried to return the item. No one responded my query. Tried calling the answer machine would say 'We are busy due to Christmas' this was in Feb!! what a joke. Disgusting service and horrible people. Remind you I paid £150 for this rubbish thing, which I cant use!! Please DO NOT buy anything from them.

Sent our items without the parts…

Sent our items without the parts provided,.when we contacted sensory direct we were told they couldn’t help us as they didn’t sell the parts separate,..user manual clearly stated which parts should come with item,.was a Christmas present we had planned to have it set up for Christmas morning which we couldn’t do,,.sensory direct we’re no help at all
