I recently wrote a review out of anger…
I recently wrote a review out of anger and discontent. I retrack my review due to it came from a bad expierence with one financial adisor. to set the record straight. I have been a member for 51 years, over that time I have had many mortgages and investments. All the previous financial advisors have done an amazing job and did exactly what was asked with full transparency. I will not let this expierence with one financial advisor ruin the life long good expierences I have had with a credit union. I still trust my bank and the good financial help I have had over the many years of being a member. I was upset over one incident and was petty in my review. I take back my one star review and will give my credit union the 4.5 star review they deserve for the many years of very good service and financial advice.
Very Poor Service Estate Account
I went to the Servus credit union on the 9 April 2025 in Drumheller to advise of my mother’s passing. I asked how long it would take to set up the Estate account. I was told 3 weeks. The death certificate and a copy of the will was provided at the time. I checked about a month later as I was not informed of the new Estate Account. I phoned the Calgary Office and they stated they had just received the information. I went back to the Drumheller Branch and the person responsible then admitted she forgot to send it in. Each time I spoke with the Staff looking after the account stated I would be phoned when the account was set up. No phone call was received. I then went down to the Branch with my wife as a witness and I was then told they discovered in the Will that my brother was the executor. This was true if he was still living. The lady then advised that HQ now wanted my brothers death certificate which I provided the next day; again with a promise to phone me when the account was set up. Still no phone call. By the middle of August I decided to move my Mom’s Estate account to the Scotia Bank. Within an hour and a half everything was completed. The Credit Union was told that I wanted a Bank Draft for Mom’s full deposit as I was moving mom’s account. Again I was told nothing could be done until the Estate was set up and they would let me know. Around the middle of August I phoned them and was told the cheque was made out and they were holding it.
I went in to pick up the cheque today and discovered they charged the estate account $225 for management fees. There was NO management only costs to mom’s estate for all the time and travel to get them to do their job.
I am very disappointed in this Bank and I would not recommend anybody deposit money in this Servus Credit Union in Drumheller.
So it took from 9 April 2025 until around the 18 August 2025….5 months to do what the Scotia Bank did in an hour and a half.
I’m writing this because I want all the…
I’m writing this because I want all the workers in the bank to move or transfer to a better bank and work career. my account was fraud, someone transferred a huge amount in my account. I reported it myself so that they can fix it right away. They frozed my account for 3 weeks and I missed a few of my payments because i couldn’t access my online banking. Tell me how was random person can just transfer huge amount of money in my account? Tell me servus credit union is safe to use. Move on
Absolutely terrible
They hold every single transaction on your account, down to a gas station purchase of not even ten dollars, their customer service hasn’t helped me once in my life at all. all they ever do is state the obvious like I didn’t want help with a resolution on my account, I do not recommend using this bank and recommend taking your business elsewhere, because they certainly don’t care for their users
Oh my god!!
Oh my god!!! 1/2 hr in line for teller to take off w no reason and then does not know how to process a bill!! FML
Worst Experience Ever
Worst experience ever! DO NOT take a mortgage without declining/negotiating and FULLY understanding the differential rate penalty in case you decide to move your mtg early, it will cost you dearly and they're not worth it. They'll blame everyone but themselves or take zero accountability for their horrible service. It cost us dearly but I'm glad we are no longer dealing with this credit Union in Leth. The manger will blame everyone else for their lack of professionalism. Bottom line...they'll make the offer sound sweet but it's only to screw you over with interest. This is just one nasty experience we've had in less than 2 years there.
Glad to be paroled from this branch !
If I can give them no star I would!!
If I can give them no star I would!!! Worst financial institutions in Canada!! I don't know how they are still open honestly. They made a mistake on my loan and they are asking me to pay the difference and ontop of that they told me I didn't have insurance on my car which I did. I don't know where they get there information from but they are inadequate and not capable of running a financial institution. Don't get a loan with them because you will be disappointed.

We met Kim Atkesone financial planner at Bonnie Doon branch in Edmonton.
We would like to acknowledge Kim for being very helpful, knowledgeable experienced and professional.
Thank you Kim for taking the time and explaining about our long term plan.
call centre in Calgary with connect…
call centre in Calgary with connect first/ servus credit union as all calls being recorded by myself as well they do with me. She was going to fix an issue and put me on hold so she thought she did, talking to her co worker about what she said she was going to do but she isn't and started saying absence things about me, and laughing, sat there for 8 minutes listening in without her knowledge. If you look on the internet there will be a place of recording, I highly recommend if that's the way they do business and bad mouth their members, just think twice if you need to call into their call centre in what they say behind your back, They sit there and try to say how they are happy for you to be a member Really? Wow. The trust factor, professional level, and training skills are rather low. Someone from Call Centre called short form to the point, they take no responsibility it's my fault. Again emails with replies can be found on the internet along with recording, It's your decision at the end of the day but I would go somewhere else.
First Calgary merged First Calgary to Connect first and merged to Connect First to Servus Canada TM Servus Canada, obviously there are missing links with this company in how they do business. Can you say Servus or Connect First is Busted. Always be careful in what you say you never know who maybe listening, I am visiting a couple big banks to give them a update today regards to educational and training and lack of responsibility with the outcome.
The worse bank what ever experienced!!!
The worse bank what ever experienced!!!
Suggestion: don't even try to open any account in Servuc Credit Union bank. The service it just unprofessional, workers are unknowledgeable.
I'll call to their customer service phone or just will write the letter to their head office about my complains and give them my feedback with the experience of what I'm going though.
I had to call the help center around…
I had to call the help center around 8:00 pm on February 24. about fraudulent activities on my credit card. Katharina was super helpful ,friendly and very nice to talk to. Really felt in good hands and happy having a great bank caring for their customers.
Dominique
Dominique, Call center employee.
She is above and beyond 5 stars.
She is very easy to understand.
She is very patient and takes time to explain and explain again.
She worked and worked, tried numerous ways to solve my problem, until she did so.
She is an asset Servus cannot afford to lose.
Thank you Dominique!
I've been a member of this CU
I've been a member of this CU, through it all, since its inception in Dewberry Alberta since 1974. Account number 137.
That aside, in all those years, I have dealt with many managers through my farming career that were all fine
But have to give shout out to the latest in SCU Dewberry, (Erin O'Neill)
She is simply remarkable, friendly, personable, patient, funny, highly qualified I've experienced.
5 Stars Keep her! In Dewberry lol
If I could write -5 stars I would
If I could write -5 stars I would. My ex fruaded my account. To regain access to online banking I was required to fly back to Edmonton ( i had moved out of province for my safety) and show them my ID which they photo copied. I had to go to Edmontob Police to sign a document that was meant to give police access to my account. I jump through every hoop. The restrictions remaining on my account were absurd. When I tried to close my account they told me that was not part of the deal. So I went with CIBC and once my cra GST cheques stopped going to Servus and they weren't getting there $50 service fee each month. I got the OBSI involved which they convinced them they never had me go back there, did not have my current ID and address and I was denied copies of our conversations and video surveillance. The police document and plane tickets were ignored and obsi sided with Servus. Now because I don't use there account they refuse to let me close I was just served. They are sueing me. My life is hard enough enough as it is and unless they want to harvest and sell my organs I have nothing . They vicious heartless company. Belinda delton branch and CEO especially.
Well.. Servus Sucks
Well... how do I give lower than a 1 star.
Servus credit union gave me 2 judgements (my fault yes) which were paid off and satisfied. Thought that was it until I found out they didn't file that it was properly satisfied. After months of trying, I got the judgement satisfied in courts but Servus filed the date of satisfaction as the current date ~4 years later. I was told "too bad" by Servus. Another year later I was able to get it cleared and watching my credit finally come back. This is after years of paying higher rates on my mortgage because of some idiot employee that couldn't file paperwork properly. Thanks Servus for costing me 10's of thousands of dollars for your screw ups.
Robbed of $2500, not returned yet
In mid-September someone did $2500 worth of e-transfers out of my chequing account, not me, and I’m still waiting for servus to return MY $2500 to me after over two months, 8 weeks. If it’s not resolved by next weekend, I’m pulling my money and RRSP out of servus. The man at the tsuu Tina location in Calgary was smiling and smirking at me today when we were trying to get answer. It could be an inside theft for all I know. I can’t do banking online, they won’t let me look at the screen, and I can’t get paper statements because of the postal strike. I have no control over my credit card and bank statements at all now.
car loan interest rates are too high
Car loan interest rates are too high.
Servus should offer more reasonable interest rates for car loans. But other than that they are ok to deal with.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Constantly on hold for over an hour!
Interact e-transfer not working for at least a week.
For the past week (since at least Sunday, September 15), their Interac e-transfer system has been out of service.
Apparently, Servus updated their software and it caused some sort of issue with Interac. I get that technical glitches' happen, however, no other bank I deal with would allow this to go on for a week.
Servus has not posted a message that this service is unavailable. When the e-transfer doesn't work the website asks the user to call the call centre. So, that what I did. I called the call center on Monday, September 16 and was told that this was a known problem related to a system upgrade that Servus did (no date was provided of when this upgrade was done) and that they (the flunky in the call centre) had no idea of when the service would be restored.
I wasted 15 minutes of my valuable time to learn that Servus knew there was a problem but they didn't have any idea of when it might be working again. And that they couldn't be bothered to put up a message saying the service wasn't working, instead telling users to call the call centre.
Seven days without this service is unacceptable.
Over the weekend their website was down for maintenance and I thought 'yay, they're working on the e-transfer problem.' Nope, I was wrong. System is still broken.
Yes, Servus, I will be leaving you soon. This is just the most recent of many problems I've had with your organization in the past year. Problems that I don't have with RBC, Tangerine, CIBC, or EQ Bank.
You were a good financial institution at one time, I know because I've been a member for more than a couple of decades. In the last two years, Servus has become a joke. They seem more focused on absorbing other credit unions than serving the clients they already have.
If you're a member, I encourage you to leave and if you're thinking of joining Servus, I would recommend that you not do that.
I read about SERVUS values and such and…
I read about SERVUS values and such and it really used to mean something to me, but ultimately I want my banking to be easy and convenient. I accepted a car loan through SERVUS so for the past 4 years I have had an account with them. I am happy to never go to a branch and do all of my banking on line. SERVUS on line banking is the worst I have ever experienced. It is because of my on line banking experience with SERVUS that I am paying off my auto loan early through my “actual” bank and I will not do business with SERVUS again. Granted, I seldom access my account, so maybe if I was in there every day or weekly it would be different. But for me, my relationship with SERVUS has been terrible from the beginning and I would not recommend them to anybody. Makes me a bit sad to say that about a home grown financial institution, but its just not an institute for modern banking
