Worst Transport Experience Ever, A Total Scam of “Guaranteed Pickup” and Fraud.
If I could give zero stars I would. SGT Auto Transport is nothing more than a shady broker that pushes your job onto other random carriers, making the entire process unsafe and unreliable.
I paid $400 extra for their so-called “guaranteed pickup” and “fastest shipping.” They did pick up my car on the guaranteed date (8/18), but instead of transporting it, they simply dumped it in a random truck parking lot for seven days. If I didn’t have a GPS tracker hidden in my car, I would never have known. The company even tried to cover this up by claiming on 8/20 that my car was already “passing Oklahoma.” Reality? The GPS showed my brand-new car was sitting idle in Irvine, California until 8/24. This is beyond ridiculous.
The whole point of paying for guaranteed pickup is to ensure the car is delivered promptly. Instead, my car sat abandoned in a lot. How is that “fast shipping”? It’s a complete scam. And after all that, when the car finally arrived, it was filthy inside and out – and this was supposedly an enclosed trailer, not even open!
To make things worse, we had originally agreed on an open trailer at around $1800 with guaranteed pickup. At the very last minute, on the actual pickup day, they suddenly told me open transport was not available and my only option was an enclosed trailer for $2700. They forced me into a corner, knowing I had no choice.
SGT Auto Transport is irresponsible, dishonest, and manipulative. They collaborate with the carrier to hide facts, refuse to compensate for their failures, and leave customers helpless. I wasted hundreds of dollars on a “guarantee” that meant absolutely nothing.
If you care about your car and your sanity, avoid SGT Auto Transport at all costs. There are plenty of legitimate companies out there, but this is not one of them.

Regarding delivery, while pickup can be guaranteed, all delivery dates provided are estimated, not guaranteed, due to the many real-world factors that can affect cross-country logistics (e.g., traffic, route restrictions, weather, carrier schedules). In your case, the vehicle was delivered on the exact estimated delivery date outlined in the agreement. While it arrived later in the day, it was still completed within the timeframe provided, which is considered fully compliant with industry standards for a cross-country route of over 2,600 miles.
In terms of the enclosed transport option, this was not a requirement but an upgrade option we presented in the spirit of transparency, as some customers prefer the additional protection. We apologize if it felt otherwise and regret that this led to dissatisfaction.
We also regret that the vehicle’s condition upon arrival did not meet your expectations. While enclosed transport minimizes exposure to the elements, it does not always prevent dust accumulation during long journeys. Still, your concern is valid, and we will be sharing this feedback with the carrier involved.
Please know that our goal has never been to mislead or cause stress — it is to provide reliable service and peace of mind. While we understand your frustration, the service provided was in line with the agreement, and your car was picked up on time and delivered safely across the country.

SGT beats Road Runn....
Strongly recommend, I signed up with one company to ship my car three weeks out from desired shipping date. The Friday before the Monday shipping date, I had no answers but automated non-update emails. As is often the case, we were on a tight timeline and if the shipping company didn't pick up on time, I'd be in big trouble. I read more reviews and realized I had chosen too quickly so switched to SGT. They were responsive, they were super helpful (from setting up appointment to updates), and they got the job done ontime and fast.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
SGT Auto Transport is a predatory scam operation disguised as a legitimate business. What should have been a simple California to Florida car transport became a nightmare of extortion and incompetence.
We booked a month in advance and agreed to $1,239 with a 3-day pickup window. Despite having a whole month to arrange a driver, SGT completely failed to show up, then had the audacity to demand an additional $76 to proceed - classic bait-and-switch tactics. They made our original contract completely worthless by forcing us to sign a new one with their inflated pricing. They deliberately lowball quotes to trap customers, then extort extra money when you're desperate and have no choice.
Even after paying their ransom fee, SGT continued failing spectacularly. Pickup was delayed another day, and our car arrived a full day LATE, missing even their 7-day delivery window. Their communication was nonexistent - just excuses and demands for more cash.
When we demanded compensation for their multiple failures, SGT offered the most insulting response imaginable: $50 in worthless restaurant.com vouchers. These restrictions-laden discounts are useless for people who cook at home, but SGT apparently thinks customers are stupid enough to accept this garbage as meaningful compensation. They can demand real money from you but won't provide real money back when they screw up.
SGT operates purely on customer desperation. Once you're committed, they know you're trapped and will pay whatever they extort. Their entire business model is built on deception, delays, and treating customers with complete contempt.
Save yourself the agony - use ANY other transport company. SGT will rob you blind, waste your time, then insult your intelligence with worthless vouchers. This company is a disgrace that deserves to be shut down.

These windows are designed to reflect real-world market conditions, which are inherently dynamic and can be impacted by a number of factors outside of any broker’s control — including route demand, fuel prices, weather conditions, and carrier availability.
With regard to the additional rate presented, this was not a “bait-and-switch” but an adjustment based on current market conditions at the time of dispatch. When carriers request higher compensation to complete a route, our responsibility is to inform customers transparently and present available options. You were given the option to accept or decline, and by moving forward, the adjusted contract was willingly signed. While we always strive to honor original quotes, market changes may at times require flexibility in order to secure timely transport.
Concerning the compensation offered, it is important to note that the restaurant discount codes were provided and accepted as a goodwill gesture in acknowledgment of your frustrations. It is therefore unfair to later claim that the compensation was “worthless” after having accepted it in resolution. These codes are widely used and valid, though we understand they may not meet every individual’s lifestyle preferences.
Finally, we must respectfully address your characterization of SGT Auto Transport as a “predatory scam operation.” This statement is both inaccurate and defamatory. We are a licensed, registered, and longstanding auto transport broker with thousands of satisfied customers nationwide. We operate transparently under DOT regulations and with clear contracts, terms, and conditions that each customer reviews and signs before we proceed. While no transport process is without its challenges due to the many variables involved, accusations of fraud or predatory practices are untrue and misrepresent the nature of our business.

As a first timer, we had a great experience shipping our car from Florida to Colorado. The carrier driver, Magzhan, was top-notch. The service and communication from the carrier and SGT was excellent. I would highly recommend SGT to anyone looking to have a vehicle transported.

**Update: They refunded me $170 out of $1600 as a "resolution"**
Do Not Use this Company!! I booked with them to transport from San Diego to MS. They initially contracted me at $1150 and then did a bait and switch and charged me $1600 once the driver was assigned. My son was done with his internship in CA and ready to return to college so I paid the higher price. Then when it came time to deliver the vehicle to MS, they claimed they could not deliver it to the address because there was no where to turn around when another transport company picked the vehicle up from the exact same location - he just drove around the block to get back to the highway. Driver was rude and hung up on me several times, not to mention he could not speak good English!

Great experience from initial contact until final delivery. Price quoted was accurate, timely pickup, and timely delivery. Digital interaction was excellent and the customer service was also very accommodating. I had tried brokers before and besieged with calls, etc. and the SGT experience was exactly opposite. If you need a vehicle moved this is the service to use!

GUARANTEED means NOTHING
Received a shipping quote from SGT. They were actually the highest quote of all the companies that I looked into. Multiple agents reached out via text from SGT. I visited their website and liked what I saw. Really positive reviews overall and a well laid out website.
I then received a text from SGT telling me that they would match or beat any of the quotes that I had received from competitors- Guaranteed!
I thought I would call them and put this to the test.
Not only did they not price match any of the other quotes that I had received, but the agent just badmouthed every other company. I couldn't believe how poor the service was. I mentioned the text that they had just sent me, which guaranteed they would beat or match ANY quote that I had received, and the agent just said they don't match quotes.
So I'll take my business elsewhere. Beautiful website, but your agent ruined this experience
