The traditional value and message Shen Yun promotes, the high skills of the dance, music and back drop, the beautiful costumes, ...... all of all are in the best level.

The experience was not goodul
The dance was beautiful, but their color scheme made me very uncomfortable. I also overheard people discussing how exploited these performers are behind the scenes. I dont think I will be coming to the next show.
Not a cultural show—it's a cult recruitment.
Beautiful costumes, but the content is pure propaganda. The show spent too much time pushing a specific religious agenda instead of celebrating history. Very uncomfortable experience and way too expensive for what it is.
Misleading marketing. More propaganda than dance.
The ads promise a cultural masterpiece, but it’s actually a religious and political sermon in disguise. The dancing is okay, but the repetitive skits and preachy messages are exhausting. Definitely not worth the $150+ ticket price. Don't fall for the hype.
I attended a Shen Yun performance…
I attended a Shen Yun performance expecting a celebration of traditional Chinese culture, but the experience was disappointing overall. While the costumes and stage visuals were impressive, the show felt overly political and ideological in ways that were not clearly communicated beforehand. The messaging became repetitive and distracting from the artistic performance itself.
The choreography was decent, but several parts of the production felt overly theatrical and lacked emotional depth. I also found the narration awkward and the pacing uneven. Considering the high ticket prices, I expected a more balanced and culturally focused performance rather than what felt like a platform for religious and political messaging.
Customer expectations should be managed more transparently in the advertising. I would not attend again, and I would not recommend it to friends looking purely for a traditional dance or cultural performance.
It doesn't look good.
This performance effectively serves to promote the political and religious messages espoused by Falun Gong, utilizing "Chinese dance" as a vehicle to convey specific viewpoints. While attracting an ever-growing audience, Shen Yun treats many of its performers as expendable commodities. When performers fall ill, Shen Yun consistently discourages them from seeking medical attention, and employs cruel emotional abuse and manipulation to coerce them into complying with grueling rehearsal and touring schedules.
Disgusting performance
So misleading. Came for the traditional vibes and hanfu, but got hit with a super political sermon instead. Hard pass. Not my cup of tea at all.
VIEW BLOCKED CONSISTANTLY
I am requesting a full refund for my ticket.
I cannot overstate my anger and disappointment. I waited a year to see this show, only to spend the entire first half unable to see the stage because ushers continued seating late arrivals who stood in the aisles and talked throughout the performance. My view was blocked the entire time.
Only at intermission was the audience finally seated. This is an unacceptable failure in crowd management and a complete disregard for those of us who arrived on time and paid for the full experience.
The distraction was constant and overwhelming. I expect a refund.
It is a very beautiful performance
It is a very beautiful performance, uplifting and inspiring people, such a great show for us in this chaos current world. Thanks God bless everyone.

I attended Shen Yun expecting a cultural performance focused on traditional Chinese dance, music, and art. Visually, the show was impressive — the costumes, choreography, and stage production were highly professional and beautifully presented.
However, I was very disturbed by the strong religious and ideological messages included throughout the performance. What shocked me most was a scene in which atheists and the theory of evolution were essentially associated with “Satan.” This message was sung by the tenor and simultaneously displayed in German subtitles on the screen.
For me, this went far beyond a neutral cultural performance. I believe audiences should be informed more transparently beforehand that the show is closely connected to Falun Gong ideology and includes religious and political messaging.
While the artistic quality was undeniable, the ideological content made the experience deeply uncomfortable for me.
The ads make it look like just a dance…
The ads make it look like just a dance show, but there's a huge focus on political and religious messages that caught me off guard.
The dancing techniques
The dancing techniques, the tales, the 3D effect, the voice of the singer...all were perfect.
The performance was breathtaking.
The performance was breathtaking.
left a deep impression on me 👍
Too long
By far, this is the worst show I’ve ever watched. It was way too long and kept repeating the same thing over and over.
I didn't understand it at first
I didn't understand it at first, but the more I watched, the better it got!
I need to watch more of their introductory videos to better understand the program's content and the message they're trying to convey.
It's very positive!
10 stars! Shen Yun 2026 in Taoyuan, Taiwan
I was in Taoyuan, Taiwan to celebrate New Year with my friends and attended a Shen Yun performance there. Since then, I've been waiting for their coming back in 2027 to bring my whole family and share with them the most magnificient and miraculous thing in the world today. I really love Shen Yun, from their pure music to colorful dance, from feminine grace to masculine strength, from traditional aspects to top-notch technologies, etc. Really so many things to adore. One show per year isn't enough and I just wish to be able to see it again and again. I'll give them a 10 if there is :))
Shen Yun is a beautiful unforgettable performance!!
Wednesday evening, I took my family to see Shen Yun, and WOW — what an unforgettable performance!
The dancers were fantastic and as a musician, I was absolutely blown away by the orchestra. They played nearly the entire show, and the precision was incredible — beautiful intonation, clean entrances, and an amazing blend across one of the most diverse instrumental groups I’ve seen.
The dancers and performers were just as impressive. Their timing, athleticism, artistry, and coordination with the special effects were unbelievable. I’m actually glad no one told me too much ahead of time, because the surprise made it even more powerful!
The tickets were not cheap, but honestly, it was worth every penny. A truly incredible evening with my family.
By the way, this review is totally on their performance and NOT on any political/social viewpoint.
As far as performance, The dancers are well beyond anything average as everything is live and any tiny slip is evident and the dance/gymnastics routines were perfection. As a retired military musician (raised in the NYC musical environment, top notch musical performers there) I have played with quite a number and wide range of performers here and abroad, these guys were at such a high level of perfection. Trust me folks intonation and perfection within a regular orchestra isn't always easy, these guys added authentic Chinese instruments and adding this diversity increases difficulties. You add the smoke special effects where they must have memorized the music never mind be able to see the conductor, they were incredible! I just couldn't find any spots that showed difficulty as they played and performed this with the same ease as breathing air. Separate the music, musicians and performers from any social/political viewpoint and it was dazzling!!!
That's terrible!
"Shen Yun" is truly a terrible organization; it does nothing but propagate hostility and cult-like ideology. How many families have been torn apart because of you?

My name is Vu Duc Que, and I am from Vietnam. For a long time, I had heard about Shen Yun and watched many of their performances on TV and phone, but I always deeply longed to see them live. Finally, that dream came true when I attended a live performance in Tokyo, Japan, on April 4, 2026.
The experience of seeing it live was absolutely magnificent; from the profound content to the stunning visuals and the beautiful orchestra. The vibrant colors and brilliant lighting brought a surge of emotions, and I noticed many fellow audience members were moved to tears. I felt as if a world of divine beings and fairies was unfolding right before my eyes. Upon leaving the theater, I felt as though I had been completely transformed. I felt 'taller' in spirit, with more love for others and a desire to live more virtuously. Everything around me suddenly seemed more beautiful. It was truly wonderful. Thank you, Shen Yun!
