Great experience all round!

Best ISA bonus I’ve seen for a long time and it was applied straight after I opened my account. The document that were sent were so easy to read and understand so I know I was making the right decision for me with opening the Investment ISA. Friendly team emailed me back with a quick response when I had a small query. Would recommend Shepards Friendly to friends and family!!

Did not pay Topcashback payment after…

Did not pay Topcashback payment after taking out a £20k stocks and shares ISA. Although I went through the process to find out why Shepherds Friendly did not pay the Topcashbback payment, after 6 months of waiting for an answer their reply was "no commission was due on this order" Yet the reason why I invested in Shepherd Friendly was for the Topcashback payment. Be aware if this is why you are investing in the company!

Very poor junior ISA rates

Very poor junior ISA rates, 3.75% for the year. Wish I’d known this before setting them up. They made the quarterly bonus sound attractive, but in reality, just not worth it.

To be honest, I'm not happy with the 3.75% rate, but the past 2 quarters only hit 0.5%, which as a whole means your investment managers are doing an awful job. My personal ISA has already hit a 24% return (with a different company) over a 6 month period. I realise this is an exceptional return, but if they can hit this, and your guys cant get a decent fraction of this, then there is something clearly wrong. Kids should not be penalised simply for being kids. I will be moving these ISAs away from you in the near future.

The bonus rate of an Annual Equivalent Rate (AER) of 3.75% is for the period from 1st July to 30th September 2025. Like, with any investment, returns can fluctuate, so AER shows you how much the investment could grow in one year if investment returns were to remain at the same level all year. We pay bonuses quarterly, so your next bonus rate may be different from this one.

Unlike with an index-linked fund, a with-profits fund offers a more predictable investment performance by actively ‘smoothing out’ the daily ups and downs of the market. Our fund managers use a careful and proactive investment strategy to smooth out the impact of this year's volatility on your investment. While market ups and downs have eased compared to earlier in the year, ongoing inflation, slower economic growth, and higher interest rates mean there’s still some uncertainty.

With our Junior ISA, we aim to provide your child with higher returns in the medium- to long-term, compared with what you’d get from a bank or building society account. So you should aim to invest for no fewer than five years.

Avoid Shepherds Friendly Sick Pay Policy
Do not take out this policy. It does not pay out if you’re off work due to mental health reasons unless you’ve been formally sectioned. I wasn’t informed until three months later, by letter, that my claim had been deemed null and void because they decided my mental health wasn’t “severe enough” to qualify.

Throughout the process, I received no replies to any of my emails, and although I was repeatedly promised call-backs, not a single one ever happened.
