When 2 weeks isn't 2 weeks!

Turns out that 2 weeks rental isnt actually 2 weeks... skip ordered for Monday, didn't turn up until 4pm, then collection defaults to the next, but one Friday; so the second weekend was lost. If you might like to extend the rental, it is £44+VAT per week, which is a hefty additional cost.
Won't be using them again.

Shorts provide a great service, and it’s not just secluded to waste management services. They provide help across the board with toilet hire, specialist waste removal and more. They went above and beyond to help establish themselves as our waste removal partner.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, when they cause damage they pass you over to an insurance company who will not payout. They came to collect a skip and left a large oil stain on my drive which is now damaged, when I complained they sent another van our to clean it up, they them proceeded to use sand and a large industrial machine which blew out more sand and dust covering the house, cards , porch causing more damage and dust and cost to clean. As the vehicle left it then also left oil stains!!!! I'm now out of pocket trying to get the oil removed, the front of the house cleaned and now I need to replace part of my drive. They are not accepting any responsibility. What a great company, that they are willing to go to court over this which will cost them more than fixing the damage they caused??? AVOID AT ALL COSTS>

Skip collected earlier than expected and not full

Ordered a skip to have for 2 weeks, needed to move the start date a bit later which they were able to accommodate, however they came and picked up at the original end date and not 2 weeks since drop off. No one on the phone when we called to change the start date said that we needed to manually change the end date. So they ended up taking a barely half full skip away and charging us full cost for a shorter period. Emphasis is all on the customer to guess that they don’t change end dates despite hiring for 2 weeks. Really disappointing and customer service representative and management were really unhelpful

Just a complete let down

Just a complete let down. Feel compelled to leave this review today as they’ve cost my company over £1000 as I now have to get two teams in on overtime at the weekend just to clear two sites where they haven’t delivered on time even with 3 days notice on each.
No planning, no warning, just “we won’t make it there today”.
Both sites are the last day so have made us look terrible to our clients.
Oh well at least the lesson has been learned to find another skip company and tell my colleagues who run other companies to steer well clear if they are look in for reliability

Ordered two skips two days apart

Ordered two skips two days apart, first one didn't turn up until 3pm and that was only after I chased them, got a skip change two days later also at 3pm so decided to fil that one and have it removed and use another skip company. Asked for the removal giving 2 days notice and the driver turned up at 5pm when no one was on site and decided to throw some of the stuff off the skip onto our clients drive, it wasn't much but just so petty. Bet he wouldn't have tried that if any of our guys were in site

Poor service, unreliable

Order a skip a week ago to arrive by Friday. More expensive than other local skip hire firms, however was recommended. Skip never turned up on the Friday and was told it was going to turn up Saturday morning. Not much good when people are hired on Friday to fill the skip. I was not informed that the day had moved, if i had i could have organised for a different firm to deliver. In addition, nobody is going to be here on Saturday and we have the added risk that it will be filled before we can return on Monday. poor service.
