Shipping Costs are not the cheapest - lack customer care abilities
I would not recommend Shyp to anyone out there who is looking to use them. I live, work in Manhattan and love supporting startups. But this one is not one I could care if it makes it past its 2 year birthday.
My experience included using Shyp for the very first time to pickup a small birthday gift that needed to be shipped 2-3 day express to Florida and then getting billed for a $90 shipping cost. There was zero check-in via email, call or text to see if I wanted to spend that after picking up the gifts to ship. In the end, I had paid $35 for the birthday gift and $90 for shipping. When I made customer service aware of this, I was brushed off that they had dealt with this before with other customers and created the "app estimate tool" to where I should I used that. The only thing I was offered to compensate was a $25 credit for a future Shyp service.
In the end, Shyp did not care to build client relations, they just pushed me aside and thought I would disappear so that they could give their time to an eBay seller. As an avid listener of the podcast Startup, I don't think this startup gets it or will make it. Good luck.
