If you love what you do, you never have to work! My passion for the mountains allows me to enjoy my work fully. I have organized trips and adventures for over 30 years, including 20 years of professional experience as a mountain guide. I climbed and trekked expeditions in South America (Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, and Ecuador). My professional career has developed mainly in Ecuador, exploring most of the country's mountains, such as Carihuairazo, Rumiñahui, Rucu Pichincha, North and South Iliniza and Antisana has led me to the summit of Cotopaxi 600 times, and Chimborazo 100 times, Glacier school trainer courses in the Cayambe volcano and I am a volunteer mountain rescue.

Juan, the guide who makes the difference

We were fortunate to climb Cotopaxi with Juan, an extraordinary guide with more of 20 years of experience. Professional, attentive, and always available, he inspired confidence throughout the experience and provided excellent equipment. His competence and knowledge of the mountain were evident from the very beginning, but what truly made the experience special was the passion with which he guided us and his friendly, supportive attitude.

We highly recommend Juan to anyone wishing to experience Cotopaxi in a safe and unforgettable way.

The sunrise of my life

For me it was the first time climbing so high and using crampons.

Before the big day I could stay over at my guide’s mountain house, together with his family and all the animals around. I loved the experience and his home is also perfect for acclimatization! Not even speaking about the delicious food and fruitshakes of his wife!

The hike was tough but every minute worthed. I have never seen the stars at night from so close! And the sunrise on the summit was breath taking!

Juan has more than 20 years of experience as a volcano guide so there was no doubt he would want to turn back due to the difficult technical conditions that we were facing. I know that many others weren’t so lucky and decided to turn back on the half way!

Make sure you bring sweets with you, you will need it!
