About SilverBird

Written by the company

Real Silver. Real Gold. Real Service.

SilverBird is a Dunedin-based silver and gold bullion dealer serving collectors, stackers, and first-time buyers across New Zealand. We buy and sell — and we ship nationwide.

What we deal in:

  • Silver and gold coins, bars, and rounds from the world's leading mints — Perth Mint, Germania, Royal Canadian Mint
  • Limited mintage pieces — Perth Mint Lunars, Royal Mint Britannias, Mexican Libertads
  • Stacking weight at fair premiums
  • Buyback on bullion you already own, at competitive rates
  • Weekly online auctions of limited low mintage silver and gold, ending every Saturday

SilverBird started in 2021 as a group of mates pooling cash for a bulk coin buy on a South Island road trip. COVID-era money printing had us thinking hard about real assets, and the moment we held the coins, we were hooked. Some of us went deep on the collector side — tracking mintages, completing sets. Others got serious about stacking weight at the right price. Most ended up doing both. By 2023 we pooled our resources and made it official.

When you call, you'll talk to Harry or Nathan — Dunedin-based, stackers themselves, and happy to walk a first-timer through their first ounce or talk shop with a collector chasing a complete series. Every piece is verified to be 100% authentic metal before it goes out the door, and we treat a first $80 silver bar with the same seriousness as a $10,000 gold order.

Fantastic service from Nathan and Harry

Fantastic service from Harry & Nathan. With a real quality product on hand, these boys go above and beyond for me every time. The customer experiences I have had firsthand speak volumes about the way they do business, but I've also had good comments from others I have sent their way - both online and in person. Buy with confidence from SilverBird, and enjoy the seamless process they provide when you do!
