Simba Car Hire Reviews 

I would vehemently disagree with the claim that there was any damage to the car. I returned it to you and you confirmed to me it was in good order and my deposit would be returned. I then sat in your offices for 20 minutes waiting for the shuttle bus to the airport, more than enough time to bring my attention to the claim of damages. Furthermore, the car was not clean when I got it as there was sweets and rubbish in the central pocket between the seats. Also the fuel was not full as the range when collected it was under 500kms and was 618 when I filled the tank before its return. All of these things show a lack of professionalism on Simba part.
I will not be using you again.

My parent inlaws from Melbourne hired a Simba Car in Brisbane on their last visit. The car was an MG3. On the 2nd day of the hire the MG broke down. The team at Simba were less than helpful. They advised after my inlaws called they would need to accompany the tow truck driver they were sending 45 minutes from my house back to the Brisbane depot to collect another car. They first told the RACQ technician to jump start the car and send my inlaws on their way. After protesting this request they reluctantly agreed to send another working vehicle out to replace the one that failed. (Alternator had failed)
The rest of the rental went relatively ok.

2 months after the rental had finished Simba debited my inlaws card for and additional $149.00 for the call out fee to fix "their" defective vehicle. On protesting this charge they highlighted a clause in the contract that holds the renter liable for breakdown charges, even if the breakdown is caused by a maintenance, or lack of issue. Australian Consumer Law states rental car companies cannot penalise the customer for issue that pertain to maintenance breakdowns and the vehicle rental company must provide a "fit for purpose" units to comply with consumer law. Simba refuse to repay the call out charge, and were unauthorised to deduct the money so long after the rental. I would strongly suggest to give this company a miss. They are working outside Australian Consumer Law and should be penalised by the ACCC for doing so. Save yourself the hassle if anything does go wrong and use a Reputable hire company.

Please note Hobart centre is not at the Airport but only a few hundred metres up the road. A shuttle does come for pickup and drop off.

The car we hired was just perfect for 2 people. It was cute, gutsy and so easy to drive. We had a wonderful time driving through the SW of WA.

A small vehicle with great economy which is good in the current situation. Customer service is good too.
