SimilarWorld is a unique place on the Internet. There are a lot of beautiful, amazing people there who'll support you through any problem you're having. It's a great place to vent about your thoughts and feelings, or just have casual conversations with strangers. But there's also a lot of awful people and pervs, so if you come to this website, have thick skin and be ready to use that block button.

The UI is pretty good and the formatting system is robust (italics, bold, colored text, header style, insert images/YouTube videos). Overall, it's a pretty OK place to hang out.

It’s easy to express yourself on SW and receive supportive feedback. I was a member of Experience Project before it shut down and I have enjoyed SW as it’s replacement.

I think recent changes have taken some getting used to but overall the experience it's positive. I believe the site administrators should not be so heavy handed with censoring posts as long as the membership is over 18 yo.

This site in two words: narcissism and perverts. Post boring or flirty questions and you'll get lots of answers. Talk about serious stuff and people will barely notice you... Boost your ego by posting your selfies and get tons of creeps telling you how beautiful you are. And if you think you can connect with someone, forget about it. There are no real friendships there (let alone anything else!) There are lots of people, especially men, who pretend to be nice and friendly but that's what all they do. Pretend. If you're a female, be very careful.

I tried to give the site a chance, really. Similar Worlds in itself isn't bad but the community makes it bad. Like, very bad.

First, I would just like to inform the lovely people who have messaged me on Squimilar Whirls that I am not ignoring you. There are restrictions placed on my account and, in that matter, the details of those restrictions remain between the administration and myself - they concern no-one else.

Second. I've read some of the egregious remarks relating to the site from quite a few non-entities who are filled with nothing more than rancour. For goodness sake - stop belly-aching! Similar Worlds is STILL an excellent site and for goodness sake, stop bleating and lamenting like your world is coming to an end - it's the internet! So many cry-babies! You should really all stomp your little feet, pout your lips and run to your crying corners and dry your little tears with the toilet paper from those hundreds of crates that you have stashed away. If anyone wishes to enjoy themselves, have some fun, share some pleasant conversations - then pop over to similar worlds! Ooo, they have big, red dragons that you can give as gifts and unicorns! My only criticism is that unicorns are not 'real animals' - honestly! So....off you go! Register, today and receive a free piece of broccoli - Covid-! !!

Perfect site for dramatic and cliquey kids, who enjoy construing a story for drama and harassing people they don't know.
If you are a person who doesn't like forming friend groups, you will be an outcast on this site. People will automatically gossip and not like you even if you have done nothing wrong and mind your own business always. The dramatic kids are everywhere on this site, alongside depressed useless people of society that cry for any drop of attention, and pedophiles.
Admins are very biased and do not ban VIP users for doing things they have banned non VIP members for, and instead issue warnings. People will send death threats to other users and repeatedly harass them with threatening messages, but will go free with a warning if they are a VIP.

Steer clear of the "popular" and "well liked" members of this site, as most are just cliquey kids who get friends by being fake and gossipy. It isn't uncommon to befriend a "popular" user only to get back stabbed and blackmailed later. This has happened many times, with users posting screenshots and long posts detailing their verbal vomit that nobody cares about.
Being real and honest on this site will get you nowhere, unless you bind with others alike.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

If you are not a SJW liberal, you will be treated unfairly by the punks that run this site and probably banned. People threatened me with cyber stalking and physical violence and nothing was done. I complained and I was banned. But I have gotten back in several times and I will again simply to be a positive nuisance and continue to defend morality, American values, Christianity, and true manhood.

All the negative reviews seem to be by people who upset others and are pretty cavalier about it.

There's nothing dangerous about Similar Worlds.

OK, some of the click-bait ads that pay for it you shouldn't touch, but that's the same for a lot of blogs, talk radio shows, and tabloid newspapers.

But then again, I like everything. I'm like a secret op reporting on recon I've been collecting for years.
I guess if you don't let people get under your skin, you'll be fine but the site is loaded with broken individuals which is a great opportunity to help others and listen to their life and story or you can just add to the trouble and cause problems for others. It's the internet and this is not the biggest site so the people you tend to bump heads with are those that are not afraid to post openly and it's an international site that encourages free speech so prepare to hear everything under the sun. Admins typically don't and should not intervene on anything people say so long as it's not threats

As a site, it does its job well, and we cannot ignore or deny that. The website clearly can support a public forum stream, private messaging, and a variety of other small features, even if we've been waiting on the games to come out for quite some time now. What functionality does the site lack? Not much except a pretty shabby report system which has been abused before by the "I'm gunna report you" community. It's the people that users complain about and it's not the admins' fault that people you don't like use the platform. What can you do besides accept that these people choose to go there? :v

I guess what would help make the site a better place would be marketing to help it grow and attract more people because more people means hella bad folks but the few rays of sunshine that get through are going to be enough to put a smile on people's face here and there

Suspended for having multiple accounts. I was a troll but never harrassed anyone, just having fun with weird questions just to get reported by a bunch of elite groupie crybabies who flock together and ban people they either disagree with or don't like. It is in fact the driest most crusted up boring freakin site I've ever seen anyway. Losers and sunts. So I recreated another account with a vpn even through tor browser but they still somehow knew it was me. Admin are biased and extreme leftists. There used to be a lot of good people on the site now I find it hard to make friends on there. So many want to spank or have sex this is disgusting and I am wondering where the site went wrong

First, I want to say that the idea behind SW is great, but the sites format is not. Not all content is right for all people so I feel it is important that a person has to join a group to gain access to the content of that group. If a person joins a group and does not like the subject, then they just back out. On SW you don't have that choice. Everything posted by anyone is put right up front for everyone to see whether in a group or not and this defies the idea of anonymous communication solely with people of similar interests.

I have interests that aren't for everyone and others have interests that aren't for me hence the option of joining certain groups and not others.

My opinion here is based solely on my experience with EP. I will state openly that I grew up with certain fetish interests that started around the age of 10 or so and I grew up keeping everything a secret and always wondering why I had these interests. I was terrified to tell anyone.

I came across EP many years ago while doing internet searches about my interests hoping to find information. I joined because I was able to get into specific groups and "talk" with people with similar interests and get other people's perspectives on the subjects in CLOSED groups...meaning that only people who joined a specific group had access to that groups stories, questions, etc.

Now, for SW this is not the case. You can join groups of people with similar interests but the groups are not closed. Anything you post shows up on SW's main page front and center for everyone to see. I know my reasons for joining certain groups is to be able to openly talk about things that are not considered normal for most people and I respect that, SO...I have stopped posting anything on
SW partially out of respect for people who don't want to see or even know about such things and because I consider my stories to be somewhat private for those who share those interests.

I hope that one day SW will follow EP's example of having to join a group to be able to see the stories rather than having everything open to everyone whether a part of the group or not. I know I am one of many who feel this way and if that format is changed, then I will consider using SW again.

It's the closest replacement for EP, and that's what the three stars are for.
It seemed as though it would thrive as the old community converged here, but it actually became quite static, and later deteriorated. Many have now left.
The trolls and perverts remain. There's just a small bunch of good folks left that are active regularly.
SW has been a victim of poor marketing, I assume due to potential legal reasons, and so, there isn't enough traffic. Now, it's true that busy forums are overwhelming, but on here you could log in once a week and not miss any posts if you scrolled through a couple pages of questions/stories.
All in all, SW has been unable to maintain a healthy, regular community the way EP did.

Like all on line social media sites there are those that want to ruin it fir every one.
I have been a member for 2 two years and have had no grief.
Some have tried to bait me but I do not respond, at all. They go away.
I praise this site because of my positive experience, understanding those who write negative reviews most likely have had negative experiences.
SW allows me to share my life experiences, it allows my to show the beauty of my country through pictures.
I can write in depth stories, I can ask and answer questions, I can help and advise those who are seeking information.
Filters are available to block out adult, nudity, fetish,age limitation posts so you never have to come across negativity.
As I say, my experience has been positive because I do not view the negative posts.
Give it a go for yourself, make up your own mind.

As if the real problem on SW is meanness and not cluelessness. No community apparently allowed on SW.Middling to low IQ people 4 the most part blabbing about their eyelashes and teenage rainbow tats, or snobby hi-q nerds acting superior and looking down at everyone else... boring unimaginative solipsistic waste of time for most members. The feeling of perpetual wars of the wills. But nothing meaningful gets much real response cause there's probably no response to be had. People living in their own bubbles asking people to put up their music and then the poster puts up THEIRS and audience answers are not really welcome or responded to. The self-and one's-own-bodily-absorption...is startling and deadening. So many writers act as if anyone could care how tall they are and what designs ore on their fingernails. But whoever takes care of things in the meanwhile isn't a problem on SW and there's much jockeying 4 that position.

Perfect example of arrested development in America and most other places too.

No real conversations on SW except by people who absolutely agree with one another. Everything else is an isolated blip, unrelated to anything else except the general pointlessness and boredom. Overwhelming right wing or know-nothing bias, lefties are always insulted. Nothing GOES anywhere. Apathy is extolled like a step up from things-as-they-are. Phony angst about "ugly political bashing" when in truth mostly nobody knows any of the real issues. One third of it is endless blather about "God" and "Atheism" or what's with Islam or Orthodoxy of any kind and all kind of other nonsense for high school freshmen or less.. People are allowed to blindly attack other members but no direct confrontation allowed back or YOU get banned. WT eff??? Management is sneering at this. And they aggravate it.

Scarcely no organic grasp of the huge overwhelming issues of our time experienced by all of us. Community or solidarity are very much suspected as unsavory motives.

But the idiotic bodily/sexual hyper-individualism on SW feels like mass madness to this witness...People have really been brainwashed that our various colors of green and purple hair...or sexual orientations...means anything about freedom.

Nobody talks about why work in the regular corporate workplace is mostly so ugly and disagreeable but we seem to be forced to swallow it till it chokes us. Nobody connects the dots.

The fatalistic and resigned dullness often borders on frightening.

Climate change denial in every page u look with mostly no counterbalancing material..yes there is a little.

The grocery tabloids and right wing TV pundits are the backdrop for SW knowledge and wisdom, apparently. Nobody there seems to have discovered alternative media or concepts.

Some of us want a better world than this one though. Pointless triviality alone will end this planet Making more friends while some are alone forever and can't live that way....won't help anyone

And the written word is precious but that would be somewhere else and not on SW...and if you need to build your sense of personal community please look elsewhere, cause SW will show u why this is just unutterably impossible.

Oh scuse me...two or three girls (or boys) on SW somewhere will bond. I don't know them.

Great site!! (Honest Review, unlike most others)

Pros:
- Provided a stable home for ex EP members.
- Staff, the admins & mods are all kind and professional.
- Develops a lot of neat features and improvements, and listens to user feedback.
- Has a lot of security measures in place to protect teens on the site.
- Goes out of their way to tackle child abuse and predators (report to law enforcement), unlike other social networks.

Cons:
- Needs more staff, to tackle issues and abusive users more quickly.
- Could improve the offered list of groups (which they said they are working on)

The reviews on here that claiming that the Similar Worlds staff supports predators, are 100% false.
They in fact work with law enforcement on these cases, which is a process that can take time.

Those false reviews sound like troublemaker users who didn't like the fact that they got limited or banned from the site....

If I could note that site zero, I would.

This site is whether about shallow and stupid questions, perverts and "old school" mentality aka hate against women, or hateful political posts, with no moderation whatsoever.

A total waste of time, and you can't even delete your account.

This place is unique. If you see any negative reviews here its coming from people who are either bitter and frustrated with life. Or they are just flat out boring. The users on SimilarWorlds are mainly transplants and empaths from The Experience Project. You have a wide range people from all different backgrounds from all over the world. As long as you stay in your lane and respect other people's way of life you will be fine. Most of the opposition here comes from culture wars which ranges from anything from religion to gender references. The content here is no different than anything found on any other social media outlets out there. Is is whatever you make it so it would be wise to just use your imagination and have fun. All of the rules and regulations are the same and they are strictly enforced. So just give it a try and be creative. Be expressive. And most of all, be yourself. Good luck.
