Expensive Stale Bread.

Bought a bacon baguette and a sausage baguette (seeded) at about 0930 on 4th March 2026,from the St Katherine's Precinct Abbots Langley branch.Quite surprising at that time that the seeded baguette was all that was available.
Disappointed to find both baguettes were very stale, having paid quite alot,I don't think it's asking to much for the bread to be fresh.I might have understood had it been towards the end of the day but not at 09.30.

OVERPRICED AND RUDE STAFF

I dropped by Simmons in Sele Farm, Hertford only to find a queue out of the door, slow service, 4 members of staff servicing folks wanting coffees and made to order lunches. No one was servicing the cake/bread counter. One member just tidying shelves and ignoring the long queue. When asked if someone was servicing on the cake counter, I got a surly look and attitude. Also cannot understand why this bakery is so expensive compared to others in the area. £3.50 for a croissant is too much. Won't be returning.

Possibly the most expensive roll ive ever bought

I popped into the branch at Hoddesdon today, bought a sourdough and the most expensive mini baguette roll I think I've ever paid (certainly for its size!). A thin layer of Coronation Chicken, and 3 slim slices of cucumber for £5.65. Never again, what a rip off

I regularly use Welham Green

I regularly use Welham Green, Woodhall & Hatfield town centre Simmons. The food is always good but way overpriced. However my frustration isn’t with food or price. It’s the staff, particularly in the Hatfield branch sometimes there’s five or more behind the counter and you can be the only one waiting for service. You’ve got two fiddling with the coffee machine one trying to look busy straightening loaves and rolls and two blatantly nattering and giggling. There’s so many times a whole lot of nothing going on. Aren’t you paying them enough Simmons ? come on!
PS please bring back almond slices

Very Dirty!

We went to the Letchworth Simmonds Café yesterday for coffee and cake. The service was pleasant but, the state of the tables & floor was awful! We had to move used plates and cups from the table to another so we could sit down. Other tables were full and had not been cleared at all. Also, the floor was so disgustingly dirty, we had to try not to notice and finish and leave ASAP. They had enough staff working but, obviously not managed well at all. To top it off the price we paid was the same as if we went to a premium coffee shop. I would not go back again!

I don't know what I've just eaten

I don't know what's going on. Me and my partner ordered two prawn baguettes.... the prawns with the thousand island sauce..... the baguette had no flavour at all and just to confirm, I asked my 13 year old daughter to try a prawn and she also confirmed she couldn't taste anything!! So my question is, what the hell did I just eat?because that was not the prawn baguette that I've ordered many times in the past from Simmons.... I've been left feeling a little weird about the whole situation.

Simmons Used To Be So Good.

My order was cancelled, enquiry was made. It turned out a staff member had cancelled it. Long story short even though Customer Service said they will given me an online voucher as good goodwill gesture. I was sent a normal gift card which cant use. (too far for me to travel, I don't drive.)

TOO GOOD TOO GO BAGS CANCELLED FREQUENTLY

Travelled 12 miles to Northchurch branch to pick up 2 Too Good To Go Bags, only to be told they have cancelled, as they do not have the stock. Why is this bakery constantly allowed to do this. The app is there for outlets to sell surplus stock, not to advertise , charge & then say they have not got the stock. The customer then has to wait 14 days to receive a refund, because the shop cancelled. I would certainly recommend any potential customer to give this shop a miss , if they appreciate good honest service.

Lost an hour of my life.....

I was travelling and found a magic bag en route. I stopped off to ask if it was worth me waiting an hour until collection time, and was assured that it was. I ordered the bag on the app and waited outside. I was the first person to collect only to be told that my order had been cancelled as there was too little food. A lady arrived after me, and she got a bag. An hour of my life that I'll not get back. For this to happen when I had actually gone into the shop is shocking. How could staff be so incompetent. Laziness keeping it clean. It’s food and should be better.

Leverstock Green. Dirty tables left, you had to ask for them to be cleaned. All the food bits on table were swept on to the floor, tables wiped by left wet. The floor had so much food and rubbish on it, it was cleaner outside.
The Food Hygiene Rating agency should visit this place, I always say if it’s like this where the customers sit then what’s it like where the food is prepared.
It’s a really simple thing to do keeping a place reasonable clean it’s not rocket science it’s basic common sense but Simmons have failed completely.

One star because in Hatfield at least…

One star because in Hatfield at least their prices have recently gone insane. Also they put tiny little price stickers on the food so you have to real get close to check the price which - as I say is massively inflated. Simmons have decided to crank their prices and although I’ve enjoyed their food for literally decades, I am certainly never going there again. Vastly way overpriced. A great shame.

Disgusting behaviour from staff

I went into the Simmons in Hertford today to get a morning coffee. The two people that were working behind the counter were the rudest and most impatient so called customer service representatives I have ever encountered. I used the wrong card to pay to which they both gave me a death stare and then proceeded to announce to the entire store that I had ‘no money in the account’. Absolutely outrageous. Then someone they knew walked in and they were nice as pie but were looking at me while laughing with him. If that doesn’t make people uncomfortable I don’t know what does. The sheer audacity of Jacqui and her colleague whose name I couldn’t get, is absolutely sickening. This experience has put me off entering your stores ever again!
