  1. Tax Preparation Software

Written by the company

SimplifyMTD is free, HMRC-recognised software that helps UK landlords meet their Making Tax Digital for Income Tax obligations, without the cost of an accountant or a complicated accounting suite. MTDis the biggest change to Self Assessment in decades. From April 2026, landlords and sole traders with qualifying income over £50,000 must keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC, followed by a Final Declaration, with the £30,000 threshold following in April 2027. For many landlords, that has meant either paying rising accountancy fees or wrestling with software built for large businesses. We built SimplifyMTD to be the straightforward, no-cost alternative. It's designed specifically for landlords, not adapted from generic accounting software, so it handles quarterly updates and the Final Declaration in a clear, step-by-step way, with short video guides at each stage. SimplifyMTD is officially recognised by HMRC and appears on the government's list of compatible software, so you can file with confidence that your submissions meet HMRC's requirements. Our aim is simple: make MTD compliance genuinely accessible, so landlords can stay compliant without overpaying. If you're a landlord getting ready for Making Tax Digital, we'd love to hear how we can help, and to hear your feedback.

Simple, intuitive and well designed

A really easy-to-use platform that takes the stress out of Making Tax Digital. Everything is laid out clearly, and it’s quick to enter transactions and understand what needs to be done next. It feels like software designed by people who understand the challenges landlords face.
