PLEASE AVOID SIMPLY FINANCIAL FOR ANY FINANCIAL NEEDS. THIS COMPANY IS EXPERT IN GIVING FAKE PROMOTIONAL OF OFFERS THAT EXCITE CUSTOMERS. THESE SCAMMERS ASK FOR YOUR PERSONAL DOCUMENTS AND NEVER REVERT BACK AND USE THE SAME DOCUMENTS TO CONDUCT SCAMS

So sad

They froze and blocked my account over a week ago due to potential fraud and now its a verification issue. Went to canada post to verify my identity on wed Feb 18 an now we are the 23rd and still nothing done on their end. Worst online bank ever.

I opened an account and transferred…

I opened an account and transferred funds into it through several transactions. When I tried to send a payment, it was blocked, and my account was frozen without explanation. Despite many emails and calls, nothing has been resolved. It was easy to put funds in but accessing my funds now seems impossible. I didn't expect anything extraordinary, only a smooth process, and that's generally been the case with CENTURY "100"

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY WITHOUT MY CANADIAN PHONE, BECAUSE I DO HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE: ALL EMAILBOXES, DEVICES, PASSWORD THAT I USED FOR YEARS TO ACCESS PCFINANCIAL/SIMPLII FOR DOING ONLINE BANKING, THE PHYSICAL CARD VALID TILL 2028, STATEMENTS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS! Be very careful when using Simplii…

Be very careful when using Simplii Financial to send global money transfers. You funds can get stuck for 5 days or more. Much better off using other agencies.
Also, their customer service is the worst, their representatives are cold, unhelpful and also never do anything to help.

Can't get my money out

I opened an account 2 months ago.Transferred money from my other bank by many transfers. Last week I tried seeing $1000 to a large financial, Canadian company. CIBC's security stopped the payment. Several emails and 5 phone calls and my account is frozen for no reason. I'm presently in Mexico and have no access to my account to pay rent, food and some medical surgery I need. Easy to put money in but impossible to get it out. Customer service has most phones either extremely low or garbled. I even connected a remote speaker to no avail. I may have to try and survive till April to get my money.

Small test transfer worked

Small test transfer worked, so I assumed everything was fine. As soon as I tried a normal transfer, it was blocked. After that, my card was locked over a routine purchase I approved. The experience feels overreaching, frustrating, and disconnected from real world use. Things have gone well with #Stovëx #Global so far. Everything works as explained, and support replies promptly.

My mortgage was due for renewal in 2025

My mortgage was due for renewal in October of 2025. A Ms. Shalini Perera reached out to me; introduced herself and spent the the next few weeks guiding me through the renewal process. She was professional, respectful and very patient. She answered all of my questions; explained the financial process to me at a very uncertain time(when the BOC was often readjusting the percentage rates) in a manner that I, as a civilian, could understand. She was appropriately warm, approachable and very reassuring. This woman is a true asset to your institution and I consider it my good fortune that she was assigned to my case. Thank you very much Shalini for all of your hard work.

I’ve been with Simplii Financial for a…

I’ve been with Simplii Financial for a long time and have never had any problems. Since it’s an online-only bank, you do need to be careful with your transactions, but overall my experience has been excellent.

Today I received emails from both TD Bank and Simplii—TD increased its monthly service fee, while Simplii reduced its NSF fee. Simplii offers a free bank account with no monthly service fees, which is a big advantage.

Overall, a great bank. Highly recommended!

I was very hapy to receive a FRAUD ALERT…

I was very hapy to receive a FRAUD ALERT from them. It came as text msg and email. Saved me a lot of hassle trying to get the money back. All you have to do is reply N to the text and they will stop the fraudulent attempt to take money from your account. On the other hand, if the withdrawal is legit, you just reply Y.
As well, Simplii has reduced NSF fees from $45 to $10, which is huge.
Opened my account about six years ago and have no complaints.

Simplii ATM ate my $2,300

Simplii ATM ate my $2,300, and now the Resolution team is saying that the ATM didn't show a surplus.
I have been with Simplii / PC Financial for more than 13+ years, but I am taking all my accounts and my kids' accounts elsewhere.
I will be filing a complaint with FCAC and OBSI, as well as involving my lawyers.
Don't trust this bank or its parent company, CIBC.

Bad service to loyal, long-term customers.

I just received a letter informing me that Simplii will no longer be providing paper statements. They did say if you were a senior or someone with special needs that you could continue to receive paper statements but they neglected to mention there would be a charge for this! And their letter was rude. Basically, they stated if you don't like it, close your account. I will be looking for alternatives. Simplii used to be good. They are not anymore. They treat long-term, loyal customers like disposable trash.

Warning

Warning: Banking with Simplii Financial has cost me thousands of dollars. If you keep a balance and attempt a transfer, be aware that they may flag it as fraud and freeze your account for months. They repeatedly claim an account specialist will call back, but no one with the authority to resolve the issue ever does. Complaints are acknowledged only through automated emails, with no real follow up or action. The lack of accountability and customer support is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. Do yourself the biggest favor and find a bank that you can walk into.

Applied for a line of credit

Applied for a line of credit, and was approved quickly. I have excellent credit, high 800's and a very good history, no bankruptcies, no defaults or missed payments. My credit utilization is below 20%. 2 months after approval my account was abruptly closed with no notification or communication from Simplii. I inquired as to why, and got shuffled around to many different "managers" with poor english skills. Finally got told they were starting an investigation. 2 weeks went by and nothing, so I called and they said we are working on it. A month later they called and said they have no explanation but needed me to reapply and send all the documentation I initially sent because they have no record of any of it. So basically they lost all of my private banking and financial info. I immediately told them to delete any info they did have about me and then I notified Equifax and TransUnion to flag my credit profile for future discrepancies which will protect my credit from fraud. Simplii is a divsion of CIBC and you would think as a major financial institution they could do their job properly, but no. So this review is just a warning to anyone considering Simplii for any banking or credit services. Beware.

Have waited a week to get customer…

Have waited a week to get customer identity verified and card issues resolved. Was told there would be no issues going to the machine to do banking the next day. Went today. Card was blocked on initial try and was told that it would take two days to rectify. How is that for customer service? Unacceptable business. Do not go near.

Just wanted to open a savings account

Tried to open a savings account and got noting but the run-around. For some strange reason they wanted a bill with my associated home phone number AND home address - problem is I have a magic-jack IP phone and it is NOT associated to my home address. Sent Simplii multiple documents/bills multiple times with my name and address to no avail. They even sent me a debit card, PIN number and account number, but would not activate it. Told them I was a CIBC customer for over 40 years as well - didn't help. No call back either after my complaint.
