Through the organizators, Jordan and Igor, we truly connect to macedonian culture, history, people and tradition, not as "simple" tourists but as guests and friends.
The long tour, called The Hidden Gem Uncovered, offers many activities, from natural hikes to kayaking in the Matka canyon, from local food meals - in the typical restaurants, kafanas - to the many historical and religious places. Everything is imbued about culture and social peculiarities of the country.
Overall, I would come back to one of their tour to experience again the macedonian friendliness, eat some ajvar while listening to some live traditional pop song, disconnect in the peaceful natural spots of Ohrid and Mavrovo and, possibly, having breakfast with burek the day after going out in the night in Skopje.

I was looking for an unconventional, sincere, and low-budget travel experience when I came across the idea of exploring Macedonia. I discovered "The Hidden Gem Uncovered" tour by chance and eventually booked this solo trip, not knowing exactly what to expect.
I started out a bit skeptical about joining a guided tour, as I’m used to traveling alone and I enjoy choosing my own path and deciding where to go or what to visit. Still, I thought it might be easier to explore such an unknown land by following the guidance of people who truly know the place. I have to thank one of the guides, Igor, for showing me I had made the right choice: we explored remote areas only locals could know about, tasted authentic Macedonian food, and had truthful interactions with the locals in places they actually live. I definitely wouldn't have had the same experience on my own.
The tour was truly mind-blowing, revealing the beauty of a country still untouched by mass tourism and free from crowds of mindless visitors hopping from one souvenir shop to the next. I had the chance to enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes after hikes led by Jordan, an Italian guide who traveled the world before falling in love with Macedonia, eventually moving here to share the country’s wonders with other open-minded travelers seeking something unique and off the beaten path.
I genuinely appreciated the effort these guys put into showing the world the beauty of an underrated country—without sugarcoating or hiding its true character.

This tour was such an unexpected and amazing experience—so real, so warm, and honestly unforgettable. Macedonia is absolutely beautiful, with stunning landscapes, delicious food, and the kindest people. But what really made the trip special were the guides. They were super knowledgeable, friendly, and just had such a great vibe that made everything feel easy and enjoyable.

It didn’t feel like your typical tourist experience, it felt more personal, like we were really experiencing the country, not just visiting it. I honestly think this is one of those rare hidden gems, and I’d recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

It took us no time to understand why Jordan (one of the tour guides) fell in love with and decided to move to this country unknown to the most: the nature in Macedonia is stunningly beautiful, the green is so vivid everywhere and always having the mountain range to complete whichever landscape is just the icing on the cake. The lakes are one better than the other, no matter if you're gazing at them in the morning or in the evening. And if you love bell peppers you're gonna fall in love with the ajvar, a must that never fell short in all the traditional kafanas (typical "restaurant") that we enjoyed during the tour where despite the linguistic barrier we were gladly welcomed by the locals and cared for.
What else to say: if you love nature, amazing landscapes, delicious food and good vibes, don't think twice about joining the tour with Sincerely, Macedonia and bring this experience with you forever!
