Excellent Customer Service

Shopping from abroad can be difficult with sizing and returns, but Sirplus made the whole experience reassuring. They kindly accepted a late exchange and issued a voucher. When the voucher didn’t work online, Fay Gaule from customer service stepped in and handled everything with real care. She was patient, positive, and had real flair, guiding me through the purchase over the phone and responding to emails immediately. Truly excellent service.

Non-existent customer service

I ordered two coats (total cost over £1,500) and I wanted to return them. They are nice but the fit doesn't work for me. Their return system would not allow me to arrange the return online, suggesting that I contact customer service.

I have emailed them three times and called them. My emails have been ignored. Nobody picks up the phone. I am now going to have to schlepp a big box to one of their in-person stores to get a refund because I am tired of having the parcel taking up space in my flat and am not prepared to wait another week.

I will never buy from them again. The customer service is a joke.

Have bought and road tested a number of Sirplus products over the last few years.

Ok so I have bought multiple items from Surplus and have worn them a while. Had them cleaned and cared for to a good standard.

Wool navy peacoat style jacket. Good price. Warm and nice style. Cons. Some unexpected bobbling on arms. Wool wears quite quickly denoting perhaps a quality of wool grading. Buttons not well stitched on and need replacement. 4/10. I wouldn't buy this item again from Sirplus.

Oxford Shirts. Expensive, last well, buttons stay on. Good cut and robust. 9/10. Would certainly buy again.

Red lambswool crewneck sweater. Not cheap. Lovely colour, soft and holds shape quite well. Cons collar is coming away and poorly woven to body of sweater. 2/10. I would suggest buying the Muji crewnecks at a fraction of the price that are far harder wearing and better value, although they may bobble after 2 years a little. Wouldn't buy their knitwear again. You can buy an Arthur Beale sweater for the same price that would last a lifetime. Or Barbour who manufacture really robust similar crewneck jumpers (but are not considered a fashion brand)

Cashmere shirts- I have about 4 of these from Surplus, in navy, dark grey and pale blue. very soft and comfortable to wear. They age well and hold their shape. Cons BUTTONS! they have all started to crumble, literally disintergrate and this is consistent with every one. Which is a real hassle and means secondary repairs. (Incidentally this never happened to the Oxford's) presumably Surplus use different suppliers? At the price they are I certainly did not expect the product to behave like fast fashion. Would buy again in the sale, if they sorted out quality on the buttons. 5/10.

All in all I'd like to support this British non fast fashion brand and think they get some parts right. However, some of the products frustratingly have the durability of fast fashion (despite the blurb) and are not "lifetime companions". A Lewin's shirt is probably better for price, as is a Muji jumper for the far lower price. I certainly wouldn't pay full price for Sirplus clothing.

I have contacted Sirplus raising the questions but no response ...... yet. Fingers crossed

The shirts are delicious

The shirts are delicious from the smoothness of the poplin to the perfectly cut collar and as with much of life it’s how mistakes are dealt with that make the experience so satisfying. There was a mix up with the quantity ordered which was dealt with efficiently and with old school charm, delightful.

Brilliant Customer Service

Black Friday and I order the wrong size by mistake!
I email customer services, they cancel the original order quickly and email confirmation, fast, efficient,
impressive! The merit of dealing with a "small" personal organisation

Comedic Marketing

Received an unsolicited catalogue through the post, so must assume my details have been sold on. I would recommend Sirplus do some research before sending out catalogues containing pyjamas at £195 and Boxer Shorts at £50 to a pensioner. The sales guff about their Market Stall roots is stomach churning when you turn the page and see a dressing gown for £795 and Michelin star Chef wearing a pullover priced similarly. Some of the clothes look decent, but the price point? Clearly you aren’t aiming at my demographic, so please don’t mail me. Your comments on Forbes are equally comical. “At the core of it we are still a Market Stall brand………..”……..clearly a market stall in a parallel universe to the one I inhabit. Good luck in the future but please do your research.

First time customer

First time customer. I bought two polo shirts online. Next day delivery free of charge. Really nice quality, perfect fit.The main thing is they give proper measurements of each garment so you can check against something you already own.
