My credit card was cancelled to stop the thief from stealing more money !!!

/* We are all the victims of this thief-of-the-web company!!!
We should act together to take this unacceptable company to court.
3rd cancellation notice and I still have no money refunded */

25/4/2016 - Site Builder Billing,

Regrettably I am writing to have to cancel the order of the Premium Plan (24 months) that I paid $183.00 AU on 21/04/2016 with my credit card - due to my father's recent illness that definitely will stop my plan to build a web site for the moment, I hope you understand that it is now a bad time for my family that leads to this decision.
I trust my cancellation would be satisfied with your offer of 14 day money back guarantee on the product and services that you give me a full refund of $183.00 that I already paid.
I would very much appreciate for your immediate reply on this matter.

Regards,

I ring the bank to day to know that they've refunded $183 in 4 separate transactions on my cancelled credit card. I am glad I get back my money after making a mistake to pay for the plan.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AND KEEP POSTING YOUR STORIES HERE UNTIL ALL YOUR PROBLEM SOLVED.

Thanks to Trust Pilot with all the reviews to alert me with Site Builder.

Absolutely horrendous – stay clear at all costs

I originally signed up with Sitebuilder after it featured in a "Top 5" list I found online, which in retrospect was clearly a fake. All the company does is take your money with sneaky little hidden add-ons that you don't want or need.

The online support team is beyond useless - they log in with fake names like "Marlene Dietrich" and "Marlon Brando" (presumably so you can't track them down) and their general comprehension of English is so bad that it's virtually impossible to get them to understand your issue. The e-mail support team isn't any better and it takes days for them to respond with an answer that has nothing to do with your question.

The telephone service is for billing only, so if you try to ask them for any help with the technical side of your site then they won't help. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they "don't have anything like that" and I should send my complaints to the general "support@" website. When I pushed for a specific person's name to escalate my complaint, the advisor hung up the phone after sighing throughout the entire conversation.

The only reason I don't leave them now is because they've got hold of my domain name and I can't get hold of anyone to release it.

*PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP WITH SITEBUILDER - I WOULDN'T WISH THIS TROUBLE ON MY WORST ENEMY*

Appaling customer service

I had a simillar experience to SteveMc who has also posted.

I subscribed to Sitebuilder.com in Jan 2016 and was very impressed with the website I was building and the ease of use of the programme. The problem arose when I tried to transfer my domain name to Sitebuilder.com. I did this on the understanding that the domain name needed to with Sitebuilder in order to have the domain name roland@domain name. In hindsight I may have been misled/mistaken about this. Anyway, I transferred my Domain name away from GoDaddy to Sitebuilder.

It couldn’t be transfer for the first 60 days. I made the request to transfer this at the soonest possible time. GoDaddy emailed me on the 21st March to say they had done their bit. I was on the understand from Sitebuilder that the process would take 2-5 day. While this was going on I contacted Sitebuilder on several occasions via email and chat service to get conformation that I was correct in my assumption that the email address I could use was roland@domainname. As I am new to this I didn’t was to make a wrong assumption. I was never given a clear answer and sometimes the question was blatantly ignored. Because of this I was unable to give the go ahead for printing business cards and promotional flyers therefore leading to a big delay it getting work lined up for the start date of the new business.

I kept waiting and when I did eventually get a response I was told I would get a verification email and that it would then be another 2-5 days from then for it to be completed, for me to then set up the email address. By the 6th of April (16 days later) I still had not received my verification email.

Furthermore when I sent an email complaining directly to Sitebuilder I never even received a response. I have copied and pasted the email below.

Hi.

Further to my last email I would also like to know when I will be receiving the conformation email about transfer. I was told 5 days ago I would get an email shortly. I understand this could then take another 5 days to set up.

I was told by go daddy on the 21st that they had done there bit. I really don't understand why it is now 13 days later and I am still waiting for a conformation email and am told I might take another five days after that.

This is causing me huge problems and I am very frustrated by customer service not taking this seriously. I have previously explained that I can not go to print with any business material untill I can be sure I am putting the correct email address on it as If I am wrong this would be a hugely costly mistake. The fact that sitebuilder has not even acknowledge my predicament and offered an apology or explanation for the delay if really bad. This is having a massive impact on my business start up.

I am very much inclined to leave site builder however I am kind of stuck with you as I can't afford further delays but unless I get some answers to my questions I will be leaving a bad review.

Pleased please please can you explain the delay, tell me when I will get my conformation and explain the format of the email address.

At this point due to the cost implications of delaying further I decided to employ a professional web designer as not only did I not have usable website or email I was now stuck not knowing how to regain control of the domain name.

I have had some of my money refunded but I am pursuing this to get all my money back as becasuse of the problems this website never was never published.

A total SCAM!!!!

We purchased our domain name for 2 years, we checked and rechecked the spelling of our domain and site builder showed it was available. We purchased it, come to find out they changed the spelling of our domain name and took out a letter and we now have an incorrect website...Now our original and the correct domain name is up for sale for $900!!! We are pretty screwed as all of our marketing and advertising was for what we thought we purchased and we got scammed!!! Royally!!! Website builder is their sister company and does the same thing!

Will not stop billing for services.

Signed up with them before reading these reviews. My mistake.

After signing up I quickly found that there service did not meet my expectations and I quickly canceled my account. Their customer service personal told me that the account would be canceled and no further charges made against my credit card. They lied... a month later they started billing my account for monthly services.

I did email them, and they did receive the email and read it as my email tracking program has verified. I ask for them to reverse the charges but they never replied back and charges have not been reversed. I am now filling a dispute with PayPal to get the money returned as I had used a PayPal debit card.

Best to avoid doing business with this company!

Why is there no option to give zero stars

The ONLY word that properly describes this company is .....THIEVES.
1) Multiple billings for the same service
2) Billings for services never ordered
3) Constant promises that are never delivered to credit your account
4) Placed on hold forever hoping you'll just go away
5) Phony web builder reviews all written by them

The absolute worst company I have ever dealt with.

Called Visa and my financial institution........they took one look at TrustPilot and ....problem solved.

Absolute and total smarmy puss filled scum. Clear enough for you....STAY AWAY!!!

Hope that explains just how angry and frustrated I am with their lack of service
If they think they can get away with it they can think again I'm gonna ask every anonymous hacker to hit them hard I might even aim the cannon at their site myself and totally screw them like they have screwed me!

SCAM STAY AWAY

Like all the other reviewers I can confirm that this site is as dodgy as they come. After signing up and thinking what an easy site to use and paying for a monthly charge of £4 odd, I noticed today that they took out more money from my account two weeks later and when I spoke to someone they said it was because I had opted to pay montly and not for the year plan. This was a lie and the amount they took was not the cost of any of the plans advertised, whether paying montly or one-off.
STAY AWAY if you do not want to lose money. They are that bad that my bank already detected a problem before I did and blocked my debit card.

No Customer Service - Stay Away

The website was quite easy to build BUT four weeks after paying I have still not transferred my domain from my existing provider and Sitebuilder have been no help whatsoever - they just keep me going around in circles and providing incorrect information. So, I am paying for a website I cannot use as I cannot link the domain name (they are providing incorrect advice as to how to do this). The customer service people are rude and not interested in helping - stay away - they really are not worth the bother. I spent days building the website and I am now at the point where I am going to cancel the contract with them because I am paying for nothing.

No Transparency

I noticed they had a special offer at £3.40 per month, so in my mind I was just going to pay that much at no point until I had actually paid for it the true cost was revealed at £140! I would actually consider this price but it was the fact I never saw this amount until after I had given them my bank details.

I found this utterly disgraceful so I attempted to cancel the policy. Instead they offered me a half price discount which I refused. I eventually settled on a them refunding me all but £20. We shall see if this ever arrives though I haven't received a confirmation email, on the website it says it takes 24 hours for my payment to go through so I think I will ring my bank to try stop the payment myself.

Total Scam

I purchased the two year Pro Plan for $119.81 + a third year for $34.95.
They added SiteLock for $29.95 without my consent. Attempting to register my domain name failed and all support queries have gone unanswered. They scammed me for $184.71 and I got absolutely nothing in return.
Stay clear of this site and keep your money.

Totally awful. Staffed by idiots, fraudsters or both

As per most of the other notes on here. I paid £3 per month only to be charged 2 lots of £12. Then wrote to them and every reply completely ignores what I say. They've taken down the website twice, keep offering upgrades which I'm not interested in. My site was simply a charity site. I put maybe 40 hours of build time in which is lost. No sign of getting either my money back or any kind of sensible response

TOTAL SCAM

They clearly have optimisation on Google as most reviews come up as that are an amazing company which is why I decided to sign up for a website and domain for £5 a month. They instantly took £159 from my account which I didn't authorise as soon as I realised I couldn't find a number for them I called my bank who couldn't stop that payment but hopefully any future payments.
Eventually I found a number and called them terrible customer service kept me on hold a lot and said they can only refund me part of the cost as they have the domain which is bull as I just bought it from another site so clearly was not registered to me.
They said refund will take 7-10 days but I have a suspicion I won't see that at all and they will probably find a way of taking more money of me. Clearly a very professional scamming company as not that easy to find the bad reviews that I did on here but then it was already too late.

FRAUD!!!!

I'd never even heard of the name of this company until my bank informed me this company had been withdrawing funds from my account, starting with a few quid here and there then eventually ending up attempting to take hundreds of pounds from my account. Thankfully the bank stopped them taking large sums of money from me, as stated before I've never even heard of this company before but I would strongly advise to avoid like the plague!!!!!!!!!

Sitebuilder - Dodgy. Very very dodgy.

I thought the tools etc were pretty good to begin with but now I've had something go wrong and needed help, I now recommend to avoid like the plague.

I have a problem with my main domain email is forwarding to another email address that we don't have a rule created for. The recipient contacted me to let me know, good job the guy was honest as there was some sensitive stuff going through the email address.

Contacted Sitebuilder for tech support, over three days to respond to web form (it was marked URGENT in subject) to then stall me and ask me to explain again because they didn't understand. As I had the direct support email at this point, I attached the email explaining the problem. My next reply from support (2 days later) was to ask for the password to my main email account and they would resolve??!!

My response (to which I am yet to recieve a reply):

"Sitebuilder,

Is this common practice to ask for the password to a customers email address? Sorry, I'm not prepared to do that and I have already checked the forwarding rules on my account (and on the accounts I forward to) and there is no problem there.

If you cannot investigate this from a technical / back-end perspective, then your service is incredibly poor, as appear to be your response times to urgent security issues.

If you are not able to assist in any other way then I will look to move my services elsewhere, as this seem highly unsecure.

Please confirm your position.

Nuff said I think, but this does not feel like a secure operation and I'm moving ASAP as soon as I have made other provisions. And by the look of the other reviews, I'm in for a load of billing fun on the way out...
