Avoid like the plague!

If I could give -5 stars I would. Where do I start with Sitel? I applied for sitel online as a disabled person who at the time needed something I could do from home while I worked on improving my health. At the beginning of my interview I informed the interviewer that I have Crohn’s disease and the affects this has on my body on a daily basis. The interviewer seemed empathetic and said this would be known to all managers that would be working closely with me - this was NOT the case. I constantly had to defend myself for why I took use of the ‘personal breaks’ they provided to us. They do not support people with hidden illnesses and do not try to support disabled people. My team manager was a guy named Enrique, he was useless majority of the time he barely did any work and when we asked for help he could not provide the answers we needed. Sitel will work you like a dog and pay you pennies, you’re just employee number # and then they get rid of you or you leave and they don’t care about you. When I decided to leave I gave my notice in (1 week as my contract stated, surprisingly my manager told me I should stay (I couldn’t think of anything worse). They made me leave with immediate effect and I think this was because I decided to leave they were punishing me somewhat. My first week after leaving I did not receive my entitled pay so I had to chase this up only to hear “there’s an issue with pay”. The following week I was paid and payroll have waited until the new payslip was changed to change my tax code with HMRC which meant I was taxed double what I should have been taxed. Sitel’s payroll team also falsified my pay to make it seem like I was earning a lot per week just so they could fraudulently deduct the overcharged money and put it into their own pockets. I will be taking my case further due to the fact I was discriminated against constantly as a disabled person. Any advice? Do not work here, you’ll leave mentally and emotionally scarred by these people. Not worth the hassle or the pay.

Just another Bum on a seat type job..

Sadly like most outsourcing they do not care about employees. Jack of all trades master of none, they want to take on as many job campaigns as they can to get more money but ensure the workers wage won't go up. Sick pay? no such thing... You a bum on a seat , if your bum ain't on that seat you best believe the client won't pay us so we won't pay you. Bonus yea here it is , only catch is you better not be off or you will lose a % of it , also you better hit certain targets because if you don't then again lose more % of it. Offer a rubbish wage and sell the job on your commission but never tell you about all the ways you can lose out on it untill your in the job and there claws are in.

People are quite nice , shifts can be good and bad

Dont join Sitel

Such an awful company to work for. I would be calling regarding my job application and the recruitment team were clueless, I would be giving different information everytime.

The staff are very rude and unprofessional and would send you threatening emails regarding sending documents. They would send the email at evening time and give you deadline the following day. If you dont respond they threaten to terminate your contract.

I worked for test and trace and you have to keep pressing your mouse / or keyboard every second, if you dont you go ideal.

Sitel wants you to be professional and to work hard, while the themselves are not professsion at all.

Run 🏃‍♀️

I worked for Sitel for 4 months. Whilst the job is easy the employees are treated unfairly. Withheld pay, blatant disregard for their employees rights by ignoring grievances and anything that actually resolves human interaction. If you’re off you have to wait on hold over over an hour, if not you’re AWOL. This never happened to me but everyone else on my team. I left the company 7 weeks ago and still get emails telling me I’m AWOL despite my handing I my resignation. If you want to get paid correctly and acknowledged as a person then I would sincerely recommend looking somewhere else. Data breaches are rife and are completed left right and centre from managers despite it being an NHS contract the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Every week you get pulled into a teams meeting as they are letting people go so you’re constantly on edge.

Worked for the company for 14 months…

Worked for the company for 14 months beginning March 2020 (beginning of first lock down)
Training was conducted in a small training room with no covid procedure by trainers who didn't have a clue what they were doing. There's too much to explain but if your looking to be underpaid, discriminated both physically and mentally and also love working to impossible targets and work under management that are powered by class A drugs then this place is the perfect job for you.

They don’t even pay you

Possibly the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working for. Here’s my story.. I wake up for my shift one morning to log on, just to find my login details don’t work. I then call IT support to sort out the issue for them to respond to say I may have been fired. Strange, as I wasn’t contacted about this at all! I ask my team leader what has gone on, and he also has no idea.. I then try to contact HR, unfortunately the shortcut number for HR kept redirecting to IT Support, so I explained to them the situation and they gave me another number for HR, this phoneline was disconnected to my shock, so my only way to contact was via email so I left one asking what has happened. A week passes before any more news, still unable to log in to the systems. I then receive a generic email sent to all employees saying sitel had to take a reduction in staff. So there it was, a week later.. I find out via an email to all company members that I lost my job. But the story doesn’t end there, They decided not to pay me for all the work! I question HR on this and they responded 6 days later with an email saying ‘I must contact payroll’. Of course, I have been patient. And I contacted payroll.. who still are yet to respond, this was 8 days ago.

So In summary, they fire you and can’t seem to actually tell you before they fire you, on a personal level. They don’t pay you. They do not care about you. And you have more chance of having a conversation with that monkey that got shot into space in 1947

awful place to work

The first day of class, we had the operations manager come speak to us. Which I thought was awesome, never had a job that someone that high up would come talk. He said that Sitel would always have our back if we were to make a mistake. Well, I happened to be one of those people who made an honest mistake, during training, and they let me go because of it. How does that seem like the company would ‘have your back’ Maybe i’m viewing this in a different perspective, but to me, that’s not having my back. I would never intentionally do something, that would harm the customer in anyway. i’ve had upper management experience, and would NEVER do that. and the fact that they came back and said we just have to let you go, is ridiculous. that should’ve been a teaching moment. “hey this is what you did, this is what you did wrong, and this is how you fix it incase you come to another situation similar.” At least that’s how I was taught in my upper management experience. never believe someone when they come straight out the door and say, “hey i’ve got your back if you mess up.” Because they surely do not. Unfortunately, it’s life and I get it. but at the same time, it’s ridiculous to lie to each and every one of your new people just to get them in the door to work for your company.

The worst company I ever worked for...!

The worst company I ever worked for.
This is just another modern slavery "business model" without any respect or consideration to the workers.
Lousy salary, illegal work contracts, they disguised temporary work contract "sold" to the potential work candidates as "permanent"...
National Work Laws not obliged, No mandatory subsidies payment, just obligations and no rights what so ever...
"Nationality Clan" mentality on promotions, no merit promotions, only friendship relations seem to be the only way to evolve on salary and position.
HR completely useless and disrespectful, Team Leader without any experience, "promotions" for more responsibility positions but without any extra salary compensations.
False promises and "bonus" that never are paid
A constant in/out of people that in the end provide a very bad service to the final client, but for Sitel nothing of that count...they just worry about numbers and graphics.
This company is just American Exploitation taking advantage of people in need of work.
A completely bonkers working schedules that are changed without any respect for the personal life of the workers.
This company only demand to the workers but never comply with their employer obligations.
In my country this company is betting on contracting emigrants that are not aware of their work rights and that don't complaint due to their fear of loosing a lousy and bad paid work.
If you can avoid it...Never work to this company...!
They are full of lies and hypocrisy and it seams that snitching and boot-liking is their "work culture" and the only way for getting a promotion.
Team Leader without any experience that never support anyone and are there just to be the watch dog's for imposing company policies...
No freedom of speech on group Chats or Video-Calls
as soon any work related complaint is written you are immediately reprehended by the team leader, their way is for isolating and avoid any speech that be against the company attitude or operational method.
Working for Sitel is not just toxic, the sum of all the issues and problems make it a consuming work, were they pay very badly but demand a lot...
The only "promotion" you get in the short term is having more work and responsibility but keep getting the exact same salary as you started...
Like loads of other American Companies their "business model" is just exploitation and "slavery" were the worker have no rights apart from doing everything they demand.
Final Conclusion... Try to avoid working for this company as much as you can...!

SITEL NOT WILLING TO SUPPORT SPECIAL NEEDS

Working for Sitel has been abysmal. When I first started working for Sitel I had an issue with childcare and was informed by the CA that if I could not arrange this then I should leave immediately. This was the first red flag, the second at that time was a payroll issue that I was told could not be supported due to their being no evidence that I worked. However I did have a screen shot but my CA (Coach Admin) Dismissed this and told me nothing could be done. I had to go through HR and even then my CA sent me a threatening email telling me that I should have gone through him and not reported him to HR. I then asked to be moved teams and evidenced the email however never received a response. I continued on while the CA (Coach Admin) and CA (Community Admin) were of no support. After a couple of months the CA (Coach Admin) left and we received a new one. He was a supportive CA, nice and kind. It was at this point we started getting shifted through different workflows (Tier 3 to Tier 2 to IAC to Tier 3 to Tier 2) and in the middle of this I was forced to work late hours for the IAC campaign. At this time it was discovered that my Son may have special needs, I discussed this with my CA and he said we could go for a change of hours and that loads of people had done this. Let me tell you why this is false information. I fought for 7 months to get the change of hours. 7 months of me not being able to give the care my little boy needed. For the first 3 months I was on Tier 3 to Tier 2. Hours are 8-8. I wanted an 8-5 finish or a 9-6. Upper management came back several times to ask me questions, but they were questioning the validity of my needs. They wanted a diagnosis to go ahead which is impossible while talking about a 5 year old. You have to have careful observations for years through school and a referral from a school to start it. Then I was moved to IAC. They worked exclusively from 10- 8. This meant no new hours and they refused my change. They didn't entertain the idea of me going to a workflow that could support my hours. They outright denied it. Offered me reduced hours however this was never what I wanted and I could not sustain my family on part time hours. When I finally moved back over to Tier 3 and Tier 2, I tried the process again. Same questions, same responses, no resolutions. In the midst of all of this I was switched teams out of nowhere for no reason and in this new team we had a CA for all of two months before he quit. We have had no CA, no support for a further two months. Until the reductions. Only one CA has tried to help me, all the others have been on power trips to police the team and make sure they obey or just don't care. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. CA's will treat you like garbage.

T&T campaign

I started working with SITEL in December 2020 on the test and trace campaign, the recruitment process was pretty quick, and I was started within two weeks of the initial contact with them. When I began, they sent us in for ‘training’ which I was under the impression would be quite detailed considering we were to be gathering information from people in relation to covid-19. However, to my surprise the training lasted a whole 2 days and consisted of a few poorly done PowerPoints and a tonne of reading from a training board (arguably filled with out-of-date screen grabs and information). I later came to learn that the PowerPoint information was out of date as well and didn’t represent accurately the screens we would be seeing when starting to actively trace contacts. After this training we were then thrown into a group team chat and told we were going live, to my shock the next day when I logged in for my first official day of tracing the screens and information that was coming up was not like the stuff we had to be taught and there was little or no support about how to deal with this. After a couple days I got the hang of it (largely due to the help of a friend who had been on the T&T campaign longer than myself). The next few days I was randomly placed into a separate team chat with no explanation as to why and a new training session was formed (later I came to learn that this was the training for more advanced and complicated calls in Tier 2 isolation calls) This training lasted a whopping 4 hours and covered much of the same out of date and inaccurate screen grabs from calls before throwing us in to do these calls using trial and error more than with effective support from management. After somewhat getting the hang of these calls I logged in the following day to yet another group change and was informed that we now had the added responsibility of coaching new starts; despite barely being there longer than 9 days myself. The following couple months followed a similar pattern of not being told any changes would be happening until the day and then being told it was ‘part of the business model’, when any criticism of the company was expressed in the team chat we were told to watch what we say as it can result in disciplinary actions and in some cases those who expressed constructive criticism were muted from being able to talk with the rest of the team. Around the first few months of 2021 we logged in and found our team had changed into a new group with another manager who said we weren’t meant to be with them as we are now moving to IAC (international arriving contacts) and the training for this took place the same day with the same poorly done training information and out of date images on the call systems. After 3 hours of training, we were sent to go live on the new call type and to our surprise (not shocking though) none of the systems worked the call script froze and you had no information about the contact that you were speaking to and were expected to just keep making calls in order to ‘reach the minimum call amounts expected’ otherwise you would be penalised. The call amounts ranged from 80-120 for an ‘average’ or ‘acceptable’ amount. After a few weeks on these calls SITEL had increased recruitment efforts to meet the increase in cases and brought over new staff to the IAC calls and moved those who were trained back to T&T; there was no reason given for this and we were just told that it was a demand of the business. Moving back to T&T I stayed there for around a week or two then was told we needed to move to Tier 2 advanced calls with again poor preparation and training. During this time and the constant lack of communication from SITEL about anything that was happening I expressed that I was experiencing high levels of mental duress (which they were informed of before I started with the company) my manager mentioned that they would bring it to HR and other relevant people to plan an action. Weeks went by and after hounding them in relation to this plus providing evidence of my conditions, they eventually got back to me with a very bland answer of ‘everyone experiences anxiety and it’s a business demand’. The response was also filled with spelling errors, grammatical errors, and a complete lack of care about well-being despite promoting the image of being so forward thinking and in support of their staffs wellbeing. SITEL also have horrendous SME and support staff who, when asked any questions whether its about payroll, case management, general enquiries, holidays etc simply say to ‘ask your Team Lead’ and then disconnect the chat option. Coupled with the fact that periodically SITEL fired employees with 3 days notice the whole experience working for them was stressful and not worth the 10 p/h you get paid. Would not recommend working here.

Terrible, DO NOT TRUST

Terrible
DO NOT TRUST !!!
I have applied for their position work from home on Indeed . Received a call passed the interview 28th of July and offered a start Training date on the 4th of August . I spent over £300 getting a corner at home to be my office , purchased a desk, a desk chair a wired headphone , ready for my start date . 4th of August no email no call no zoom link: Recruitment team said it was no space for that day so moved my start date for 11th of August , again no acknowledgment. Called and emailed training , HR etc.. many times again no reply . Yesterday called the recruitment team , they passed my enquiry to their managers which you can not talk to them directly .They were not even bothered to understand , so rude and heartless typed back to the recruitment agent a short reply we stopped taking new recruits two weeks ago . I have tried to explain to them that I am no a new recruit , I have been offered the position 6 weeks prior , I have spent money that I don’t have on my credit card getting the job requirement equipment’s , I turned down another job offer while waiting for my start date . The funny thing the agent told me to apply for another position on Sitel
Sitel a big mistake never again I learnt my lesson, I can never trust them again

Terrible company

Everything everyone has been saying is true. I was given about 4 start dates and submitted my right to work 4 times. I eventually stopped calling to ask for further information because each time I called I would be told to wait. It really affected my mental health and I cried so many times because I was made to feel like I didn’t matter. This is truly the worst company in terms of employee care and I would stay well away.
