SiteLock is a SCAM - Don't waste your money

I’ve been with SiteLock for over 4 years, and they’ve been unhelpful. My website was automatically disconfigured, and they didn’t assist me. I also couldn’t access backup files I was paying for, and when I finally managed to troubleshoot, they wanted an extra $60 per month for new backups.

Now, I’ve been trying to cancel my service for a week. I've called every day, wasting an hour each time, only to wait without getting through. Avoid SiteLock—don’t waste your money!

I paid for the 911 emergency package…

I paid for the 911 emergency package because my website got hacked. They told me they fixed it but it wasn't fixed. The scanner still found malware every day. I texted back and forth with them. Then they said they fixed it again and again it was a lie. Now my website is down again. Save your money. Complete trash service.

Scam business sending me scary emails…

Scam business sending me scary emails about a vulnerability on one of my sites. I’m a cybersecurity professional by trade. This site is hosting only static content with no php or any server-side components that could have a vuln. Literally HTML and JS files in S3. Dishonest way to try and start a business relationship don’t you think? Beware.

I believe that SiteLock is ransom ware

I believe that SiteLock is ransom ware. After only 5 months of having my website it was infected with malware. I had sitelock essentials that scanned and found the Malware. Then I was told the only way to protect my website was to upgrade to the premium service, $300 a year. I believe they infected my site then demanded payment to release it. Very suspicious. Cannot be trusted. I gave up and deleted my site.

Impressive Customer Service Rep. Knowledge & Assistance

I was incredibly impressed by the fantastic level of service and knowledge by the customer service rep. I spoke with, Danielle. The experience was very positive and I was very impressed Danielle could answer my technical questions and explain the answers to me in an easy to understand manner. I'm very happy with Sitelock's products and now also with their amazing support.

I hired Sitelock through HostGator to…Horrible

I hired Sitelock through HostGator to remove malware from my website. Despite their promises, after two weeks and numerous calls, the issue remains unresolved. They continue to send me daily emails claiming the problem is fixed, and the site is clean. This has cost me significant time and money. I have attempted to reverse the charges with my credit card company and am awaiting the outcome. In my experience, this company is not only incompetent but potentially dishonest. I would not recommend their services to anyone who values their time and money.

I got no value for my money

I got no value for my money, a total waste of time and money. They are only after your money. I purchased the one-time cleanup ($168) and still found malware on my site. I called them they said I should buy another subscription.

Don't waste your time and money

I signed up to have Malware removed from my website hosted through Hostgator. SiteLock did a Malware clean and the site still had Malware. Unfortunately, the only option was to fully delete the website and all files from Hostgator. I asked for a refund and suggested a partial refund because they did do some work and was told no. So I paid for a full year of coverage and got a few days of work that didn't solve the problem.

As to the refusal for the refund request, Sitelock’s Terms of Service that is agreed by all of customers at the time of purchase outlines the policies for refunds which was adhered to in this circumstance. We consider this matter resolved but would be happy to assist the customer in the future if needed.

I have not been able to remove malware from my website even after paying the fees asked for. I have spoken with several representatives who have not been helpful.

In addition our support also pointed out there were additional websites without any security coverage that could contribute to ongoing malware related issues if not attended to. Lastly, our investigation into this complaint uncovered the last time Sitelock was in contact or assisted with helping with the website was in October of 2023. Therefore we are unsure of the comments in reference to speaking with unhelpful representatives. We consider this matter resolved but would be happy to assist the customer in the future if needed.
