John and the team visit annually to deliver Macbeth and Midsummer Night's Dream workshops. The children are instantly engaged primarily through the entertainment value, but they are also required to think deeply. Understanding and analysis of characters and plot are embedded into the experience, and children are required to reflect and engage with both Shakespeare's writing, and the experience of performance, director and audience. I have witnessed their brilliant workshops many times, but an experienced games teacher with no interest in Shakespeare was supervising one session. He was blown away! The dusty, dull play he'd been forced to read at school was instantly brought to life so vividly and with so much charisma and spontaneity. He asked me to pass on his praise for the quality of the workshop, and particularly the skill and professionalism of the team. Both staff and pupils are so impressed. Thank you!

As always, the students look forward to this event. So much energy, students vying to get on stage, developing their understanding of the plays and the context. Workshops with smaller KS5 classes push them to explore key facets of the text and really develop confidence.

John and Alex from Sky Blue Theatre Co visited our school as part of Shakespeare Week and we couldn't have been happier with what they delivered. The feedback from all staff and children was so positive. The hall was full of laughter and excitement throughout the day and I truly believe that many children have a newly found love for Shakespeare as a result. Their infectious humour and enthusiasm made each workshop very special and I was impressed with how involved all children were. Communication throughout has been excellent and John listened to what we were hoping to achieve and tailored something which would suit all children in the school. The three separate workshops were all pitched and delivered perfectly for the ages of the children involved. I thought the price of the workshop was excellent and grateful that they came all the way to Shropshire as not all companies are willing to. I would definitely recommend booking them and I definitely plan to use them in the future. Thank you John and Alex!

I have watched performances and taken part in workshops with Sky Blue for a number of years now and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The students are engaged from beginning to end and the interactive element is both memorable and great fun! The involvement of students through direction of scenes is particularly effective with regards their learning. What a wonderful way to make Shakespeare come alive!

The company know the plays inside out and have a fantastic rapport with the students. Every student knows the play inside out and are fully aware of the themes and how the characters interlink.
I would definitely recommend them to any school.

Our school has just introduced Shakespeare units of writing across KS2. The Sky Blue Theatre did an amazing job of helping our pupils access Shakespeare's work and demonstrate all how much fun watching and acting in, a Shakespeare performance can be.
Our pupils love it.
