Something I very rarely do is get…

Something I very rarely do is get involved in reviews but yes I would wholeheartedly agree with all of the below but in addition beware if you are thinking of leaving them make sure you have canceled your direct debit before you tell them otherwise you will be charged for the equipment even after two years; terrible people akin to Dick Turpin but as the saying goes he did have the decency to wear a mask I would advise to leave well alone. I have left them around two years ago and I am still livid!!

As a footnote: Several of you have mentioned the100€ cash-back SkyDsl are offering for the return of the skybox I can confirm this is another scam; be advised not to get involved you will not get your 100€ just another ploy to make money there is no way that the equipment could be faulty mine certainly was not, when I had asked. Where is the refund? They simply blocked my email so i am unable to contact them now. Surly this is tantamount to theft and could be followed up by the police?

Dreadful company. DO EVEN THINKABOUT Signing up they are total rougues

It appears that they have made a complete cock up of a software update on 24th feb. All modems logged on were destroyed. I managed to get contact using the spanish number 0034 919040821. We live in spain. They told me my modem had failed and a nrw one was more than what we paid for the whole system a few years ago. I cancelled contract and stopped DD. They had the guall to charge me a months extra internet and 30 euros extra for late payment. Any half decent company would have admitted it was their fault and replaced the modem. Can they sink any lower. Most likely. Be warned. . I shall be going after them for my money back. Class action anyone? The spanish number is answered fairly promptly but it diverts to india. It is less traumatic to stand in a corner and bang your head against the wall all day. You cannot reason with them or speak to a manager. All you get is you have to pay. Dispicable. Stuart

I have given up totally with SKY DSL!

No internet since Russia hacked the system in February.
I have purchased Starlink, wo unbelievable speeds, 240 down and 55 up, do restrictions like sky dsl.
Crystal clear WhatsApp calls

More expensive monthly but worth every penny. they even answer technical queries within a few hours.

SKY DSL does not deserve any customers.

skyDSL already has a solution

So today I learned how skyDSL can handle it. The modem will be replaced by anyone who rents or repays the hardware and within 2 years of activating the service. Those who have already paid for the hardware and have been using it for more than 2 years have a modem out of warranty - they must buy a new modem if they want to continue using the satellite Internet service. Since all customers got into this situation, and not through their own fault, I dare say that this was due to the negligence and insufficient security of the operator's internal system, so such dealings with customers are at least unfair and quite arrogant. I urge all clients who should re-purchase a new modem to come together and resolve legal action.

Playing snakes and ladders!

Just had a call from a nice man to say that they are sending me a new modem.
At last some response after trying all ways to contact them since my signal failed on 24th Feb.
This was followed by the first e mail I have had from them asking me to return my 'equipent' at my own expense within 14 days or be charged for it.

Worst internet you will ever have!! Don't do it!!

In sum: fake internet speed ads, very high prices, non-existent support. I was a customer since 2017 and I confirm what the majority of people reviewed here:
- The speed stated in my contract (50Mbits/s) was divided among 50 other customers, and most of the time I had 50-200Kbits/s. Forget Netflix, video calls, gaming, remote work!!
- You're not allowed to leave negative reviews on their website.
- Their speed test page "measure" the satellite feed of your connection, not your connection.
- The service is interrupted every day, sometimes by clouds, wind, rain and definitely by snow! But it doesn't need a reason and may stay offline for hours!
- Their support center is in India and barely speak English, much less German (in Germany). If your internet is slow, you get an email with their test speed, then measure, write them and wait days but no reply comes.
Two weeks ago all services ceased. I tried almost every day to call and write (hours waiting on the line) and never reached anyone. No one wrote me back.
In the past I missed meetings, I missed job interviews, I watched stuttering YouTube at 144p. It's a nightmare, a shame, a fraud! But I had no other option where I live. Now I have Starlink with 150Mbits/s ALL THE TIME! Don't try SkyDSL, stay away from this scam!

Has SkyDSL gone bust?

No internet since 26/01/2022, so over a week now, no answers to emails and phone calls. I suspect they have gone bust.
This is not the way to deal with customers!

Thank you folks. I am in the process of changing my internet connection company. You have just saved me from a great deal of trouble. But that is what Trustpilot is all about. I am having problems at the moment with Orange.fr. Super slow and slowing internet connect, and getting slower. I was told by Orange's forum that slow connection speeds was my fault for living in the country and not in a town. skids.eu sounds like they make Orange look good!!!!!

Only if you have no other option

If you have another option, use the other option.
Service is bad, Old materials and your trial is over before you get up and running (installed with Electrician and IT). They use outdated equipment. Even with te upgraded package we don’t get the minimum (clear sky) als that the router restart automatically is not considered a problem for them. Many mails and phone calls had to be made before getting this operational now we do have network with an average of (with the upgraded package) 5down 0.3up is according to them good when you payed for a 6 up. We are looking for a different solution. Currently at the same location my smartphone edge connection loads pages faster.

SkyDSL, the update

So finally 8weeks late my system was finally installed. I have internet and is good. I should have a phone and TV but I don’t. There are no introductions on the type of phone I need so I bought a phone and plugged it in and all I get is a message “your internet cable is unplugged”, tried to connect the tv and nada. I contacted SkyDSL support via email 5 times over a number of days and no reply, I may as well go in a field and yodel up a goats bottom. So now I’m paying for internet (no problem), phone and tv which I can’t access or get assistance with because I have no phone or mobile connection where I live in Spain. This company, it’s before installation service, customer support and technical help should be consigned to the dung heap. Unless you are a technical wizard run from theses clowns. I hope they read these reviews and sort out my issue soon.

Be careful of this company

Be careful of this company. They offer everything and deliver nothing. They said 8 days after signing the contract and after excuse after excuse about modems not being delivered, they finally installed it 2 months later . They didn’t know how to connect it in the house so now we only have WiFi in one room. They refuse to come back to finish the installation as they are too busy. They actually told me to use my own Electician. Interestingly they issued the bill hours after they were here. This company just wants your money. So unprofessional. Stay away

The company is a SCAM - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The company is a SCAM. The speeds are non-existent, and I was using them for 1 year and when they offered me a discount the second year then things started falling down.

If I could I would not even give them a star but I have to under the guidelines.

I took them to Court to recover my expense and sold the dish on ebay to recover some outlay.

AVOID. AS PER OTHER REVIEWS - THEY ARE OFFERING NO SERVICE, TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NEVER RESPOND TO ANY COMPLAINTS OR SERVICE WHY THE SERVICE HAS BEEN RESTRICTED.

THEY TELL YOU ARE IN A POOL AND YOU END UP WITH LESS THAN A FEW KB DOWNLOAD SPEED BY THROTTING YOUR CAPACITY.

YOU END UP GIVING UP AND LEAVING.

SUE THEM FOR ANY ISSUES IN THE COURT. I DID AND OTHERS WILL.

This company are a total cowboy outfit

This company are a total cowboy outfit. They are not transparent with their service and prices. We received second hand equipment and they hadnt even cancelled the previous owners passwords on the router!
Inillially the speed is ok at around 40mbps but after a week or two they throttle it down to less than 0.5mbps.

This is their actual explanation for this copy and pasted from an email:

"Thank you for your message.

In contrast to a dedicated leased connection, business and residential customers' connections usually have a contention ratio. While a customer using a dedicated leased connection will permanently have a bandwidth of 20 Mbps resulting in a possible transfer volume of 6.000 GB per month, customers having a contention ratio greater than 1:1 will share the bandwidth of a connection. This approach is common because customers are not active simultaneously with all other customers on the internet. In case of a contention ratio of e.g. 1:50, the 6.000 GB of a 20 Mbps connection will be conjointly available for 50 customers. Therefore, the individual customers have on average about 120 GB available per month (so-called "mixed calculation"). Individual users, depending on usage behaviour, use actually more or less than the available average. Furthermore, the bandwidth of the user’s connection on a given time also depends on the number of active users at that time. A restriction of the quality of service is only to be expected when a usage rate above the contention ratio occurs. We are the only internet provider which announces the current bandwidth in real time on our skyDSL Monitor. With "pooling" (use of pools) customers are grouped according to certain criteria in a common pool. By the skyDSL customers will be allocated to a certain pool, for example for technical reasons regarding their location, which belongs to a particular satellite beam and satellite transponder. Customers are also grouped in pools according to the tariff they have ordered. Moreover, customers with similar usage profile will be, within their own tariff, allocated to a certain pool. Since the available bandwidth of the connection depends on the number of active users in a connection with contention ratio, the likelihood of the maximum bandwidth of the connection being reached due to the similarity of the customers of a pool decreases in regard to its utilization profile with increasing utilization intensity of the connection.

Total meaningless nonsense!!

They also asked me to send screenshots from an inhouse totally rigged website that 'invents' crazy performance data!! Their site reported download 49.99mbps and a crazy upload of over 7mbps. Independent site 30 seconds later said 0.42mbps download speed!

It is the most expensive and worst…

It is the most expensive and worst internet provider I have ever had. Internet signal was very slow to just open a webpage, when I had contracted the best option they offered in my country in which there was the streaming option included. But streaming option was not possible due to the too slow speed but it took about 5 seconds just to open a webpage.

Besides that, the antenna is difficult to mount and they don't offer any installation service in my country besides a person in the phone that can guide you, and there was any company that could install it in the whole country so I had to install it myself.

After spending many hours with mounting and installation, it turned out that the speed was very very slow, I called and they told me that that speed would not improve much because I had to share the bandwidth I contracted with other 50 people. They had not informed me about that, and internet was so slow that I had to cancel the contract and contract my previous internet provider.

On top of that, I had to make holes to install the antenna and connect it to the house by cable, and now I have to repair all these holes and they don't cover for this cost.

We packed perfectly the antenna and sent it back to Germany, and after receiving it, they sent me a picture of a piece broken and an invoice and claimed the cost of that piece to me through that invoice, however I don't beleive that my package arrived in that condition because it was carefully packaged with protections, the piece was a wide metal difficult to break, and they didn't show me any picture of my package broken but only a picture of a broken piece which doesn't seem to corresponds to the package I sent.

I do not recommend this company if you have any other solution for internet. If you live in a mountain in which there is no other solution, then this can be a way to get a slow internet condition, but even in that case a mobile internet option would probably work much better.

At least they respected the part of the agreement of the trial period during which if you are not happy with the service they give you the money back, and they also assumed the cost of returning the package to Germany. However, they cut internet signal immediately after I claimed my right to terminate the contract and get the money back, so they let us several days without internet until we were waiting for the new SIM card from our previous internet provider which I decided to contract again.
