Brilliant service!!!

Brilliant service!!!
Im not very good on my legs, tripped over my laptop, straight into the TV smashing both. One phone call and my laptop was picked up by courier the next day, repaired and returned within a week. TV Engineer came out 2 days after calling, sent his report…unable to fix, received an email 2 days later with a list of new TV’s to choose from, DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY!! Sky Device protect I couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Denied claim for phone

I had a phone mobile phone insured with Sky Protect I call today because I needed it fixed because the screen is broken it doesn't work and won't come on I spoke to a person from the customer service department in the sky Protect department and she ask me what are the last four digits of the IMEI number which they already have in their system under my address and my name I told her I did not know it because the phone doesn't come on anymore she said contact the phone company I said it's pairs you go I bought the phone and it's open SIM I can put whatever SIM I like who should I call I said I can't call a phone company for IMEI number to my phone because I'm not with any specific company and the phone no longer has a SIM in there so she said let her go and speak to her supervisor or a colleague she came back and then said sorry she can't put a claim in for me because I need to give them the last four digits of my IMEI number I said I don't have the box because she asks me do you have the box it's on there I said I won't even know where to find it and I'm not even sure if I still have it talk about trying to search down the whole house just for her all day long which I cannot manage to do physically she then came back and said well they won't be able to take the claim because I need to give them the last full digits of that so what I want to know is this when they were selling me the plan they didn't tell me this I'd have to give them the last poor digits of the IMEI number to my phone that they already got on the system which is a total waste of time because I shouldn't have to remember it if they already have it and giving them those four digits of that phone won't prove it's me calling so if I'm calling and reporting that needs to be fixed under my details that should be good enough she then told me they will not be able to fix my phone even though I'm playing insurance and happen for some time on the phone and less I give them that four digits so now I'm stuck because I'm paying for it and have been paying for it they didn't tell me this information when they gave me or sold me the plan and told me it's in the small print that's irrelevant if you're selling a product they must be open and precise about what you're selling me so I said you have missiled me a insurance policy without letting me know this information because anybody could break their phone and also no longer have the packaging most people throw in the bin so she left me then said well there's nothing more she can do so now they want me to sit down and pay for this product that I cannot ensure no matter what I do because I need to give the last four digits of an IMEI number but I don't have access to what's up a lover so I'm going to now go and cancel all of the products I have with these people and I have a few probably six and I'm going to cancel every single one of them they've discussed in and I will never ensure anything else again with them they used to badge in my phone to force me to put more and more and more items they're only about money this is not legal for them to take my money for a plan they'd missed sold me and then tell me you can't make a claim because we need fourths of the IMEI number which they well and truly have on their system what a con be very careful if you go to take out insurance with Sky Protect on technology or tech be very careful and make sure that they tell you precisely how you can make a claim and what would be an obstacle that would cause you not to be able to make a claim on a damaged item or product they are very disgusting and I'm appalled and can't believe that I spent all this time paying for my plan and now I can't claim and make good on it I will never ever ensure anything with them and I'm about to pull the plug on all of their products and I will never recommend them to anyone there are others out there I don't care how big and great they seem or how many claims other people have had on them they'd be one day you're being the same position as me and then they tell you that nonsense but I intend to go further with my case outside of them I will get Justice there's no way they're going to take all that money that I've been paying all these months probably well over a year and Terminator tell me just because of one problem issue of without being able to provide the information of the four last digits they're not going to process any claim what are they for real con job and I'm highly disappointed in them

Cameras are a waste of space

Cameras are a waste of space as the lag on them is ridiculous by the time it warns you someone is by the front door they are long gone, the indoor camera is just as bad for lag, I kicked the doorbell into touch and bought a ring doorbell as at least that works as should.

Equipment is near useless

Equipment is near useless. Lucky if you get a week out of a doorbell charge. Doorbell either doesn't activate the chime or it goes off 5 mins later. Doorbell video takes an age to load after bells rung or motions detected, who's ever at the doors usually left by the time it loads.
Contact sensors more than a few feet away from the indoor camera don't connect. More faulty equipment than not.

Really wouldn't bother, clearly spend more on advertising the product than on the equipment.

Do not bother

I wish I’d read these reviews before I took out this policy. One of the reasons was for the tech that was offered as part of the package. IT’S ABSOLUTELY USELESS. Most of the time when I get a notification, I am unable to see who is at the door as it’s unable to connect. It takes forever to load when it does work and the battery life is absolutely appalling. I note that someone on here commented that their battery died 48hrs after they went on holiday leaving their home unprotected and I am not going to take that risk. I am now purchasing ‘proper’ equipment to ensure that our home is properly protected.

AVOID!! INSURANCE WITH Sky Protect and Domestic & General

DO NOT BUY ANY TYPE OF INSURANCE WITH SKY PROTECT & Domestic and General 🙏🏼 they are scam after taking my Premium for 4 years
I have Mobile insurance & TV Insurance god knows I think it’s over 4 years I’ve been paying. I never claimed phone till my iphone screen went damage on 3 days ago out of blue, I have contacted them and logged in my claim ! They didn’t respond till the following day and were asking unnecessary proof of evidence that if I own that phone, 72 hours later I have to contact them and find out what’s happening, now they saying they sending me a letter and they cannot tell me what’s in the letter rather tell me over the phone what’s happening with my Claim, the customer service are useless Wasted my time, all of the Customer Service are robotic approach, they will tell you they will call you back, but they never call you back.
Completely scam company stay away.

Thank you Sky protect

I added my iPad to the policy a few years ago when I purchased a new one,suddenly packed up ,a phone call to the sky protect ,iPad picked up by a courier unfortunately could not be repaired advised on Wednesday with a list of replacements one option FREE or upgrade for a different Apple model,ordered yesterday delivered today so pleased I added on to the policy,the person I spoke to at Sky protect was brilliant explaining what would happen
,nice to post a positive review.

My elderly mum has just had to request…

My elderly mum has just had to request paper copies of her new policy. After 3 weeks waiting she rang and spoke to a very rude man as soon as she gave her age. No respect and put the phone down on her mid sentence. Disgusting. No manners and ageist Will not be renewing next year.

Equipment useless!

Had my Sky Protect equipment for a month now. Results, nothing but bugs and crashes. I find myself constantly uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

Should of known better to go with Sky.

OMG this is the worst company ever

OMG this is the worst company ever, I honestly believe they are scamming with their repair company Ingram, my Samsung galaxy z fold 4 512GB went in for repair, 6 times they have sent me a 256GB phone, when you give them your imei and picture proof of the phone storage, they still keep getting it wrong. Apparently the case worker has been trying to figure out why I keep getting the wrong phone since December 2023, I am a sky customer, so they clearly know what I own BUT keeps sending me the wrong phone.Their customer service agents are extremely rude, the customer comments team, especially someone called John without a surname.
The nicest and most clever person there is Heather which works in the complaints team
Honestly DO NOT BUY THIS PROTECTION INSURANCE, you WILL end up with a migraine,I honestly do not want anyone to go through the same problems as me and others.
This is the definite worst insurance company ever, I cannot even close the insurance until I get the right phone

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM INGRAM AND SKY PROTECT

Failure to deliver service as promised

On 2 seperate occasions I reported the same fault with the Sky Q remote for the mini box.
On 2 occasions I was advised that an engineer would be out on a specific day between 8am and 1pm. I'm still waiting.
On the 3rd occasion i reported the problem I was informed a new remote would sent to me the next day.
WHY WAS I ADVISED AN ENGINEER WOULD CALL.
The service is worse than abysmal. I will advise if a new remote turns up as promised. I'm not holding my breath

Sky protect

This piece of kit needs a wide birth, camera on door bell records then won't replay back to you, only when it feels like it, and bell for it has to be hardwired to modem, so if its in office other end of house you can't here it.

DONT GO THERE

DONT GO THERE ! This is the worst product ever.
The indoor cam never works and because it goes off line the sensors protecting your house go off line.
Support is useless and clearly dont care at all about the issues faced.
the insurance side is just as shocking. went to make a claim as we had a water pipe burst under the sink, the women was awful and argued with me as said that if the cupboard needed replacing than they would only replace the cupboard and work top for that bit over the sink, so basically they would cut out the square the sink sits in as over the cupboard and only replace that part, so meaning that the work top would be 2 different colours and they would only replace the doors on the cupboard so again would look odd . What a waste of money very very bad service

Tech doesn’t work

The sky protect tech arrived last month and has not worked from day one the video doorbell has not worked and will not sync been in touch with the tech team twice nice guys but could not help the kit is being returned today and the policy has been cancelled. Even the tech team said it had been rushed out. Swerve it at all cost

All works ok

All works ok. Not sure why so many bad reviews. A few things not right but overall not a bad system. Can take a bit time for camera to come on to live view but all works well.

So bad I would not even rate it one…

So bad I would not even rate it one star. Equipment is absolutely rubbish. The sky advisors who cancelled the policy where very apologetic obviously they have had extensive complaints as they were cancelling the service without ET charges, so they know there is issues. The advisors handled this with good manners and understanding. This is not their fault. Sky should be testing this equipment and ensuring that it’s fit for purpose before advertising it as home protection. I went on holiday and my sky doorbell ran out 48 hours later so my home was unprotected for the rest of my holiday.

This is quite possibly the worst…

This is quite possibly the worst product I’ve ever used. Just nothing works. The insurance side seems ok. I’ve used the emergency cover once and took about 2 weeks for someone to come out. Not great for an emergency service. The doorbell and other “smart” tech are useless though. I decided to get this specifically for these products and they are just not fit for purpose. I will be scrapping all these and buying a more reputable brand.
