I was facing an impending medical discharge in the ADF and felt completely overwhelmed by the fear of the unknown that was dealing with DVA Claims and transitioning back in to the civilian world. The tedious and convoluted claims process, as well as the extremely poor wait times and service from DVA was a major stressor in an otherwise already difficult time. Deciding to use Slater and Gordon was one of the best decision's I have ever made. I am certainly glad I didn't risk using DVA Advocates or attempt trying to claim myself. I was appointed with Pia Annan-Anderson who is a military compensation lawyer and also had Ashleigh Cutler who was also instrumental in a successful push to progress my DVA claims. Pia and Ash were amazing for me and eliminated any stress involved with the DVA Claim process, they conducted all dealings with DVA and acted as a conduit between myself and the government department. They were able to get a huge result on my claims that were far beyond expectation and for things I didn't even realise I could claim. I no longer had sleepless nights, or felt any stress knowing that they were there to help me. They set realistic expectations and were completely transparent about their processes, fees and about DVA. I would highly recommend anyone seeking Military Compensation contact Slater & Gordon. I am eternally grateful for their hard work and dedication. It will be sad that I will no longer require their help as they were a pleasure to deal with, however I will look back fondly knowing I had an incredible law team there to help me.

Anyone looking for a Military compensation lawyer I can't recommend Slater & Gordon enough, in particular, Brian Briggs. His knowledge and understanding on DVA and their system/protocols is extremely re-assuring and so very helpful. Every time I felt overwhelmed or unsure about something, I could always ring and speak to Brian - and if he didn't answer, he would call me back almost instantly. Same goes with Hilary Briggs who also helped guide me on this journey in which I received the best possible outcome I could hope for. I struggled originally with finding good health care professionals who understood the struggles and stresses that you deal with when going through the DVA process and Brian and Hilary steered me in the right directions which made a massive positive impact on not only my health but also with my claims as they understood the processes - this made dealing with this whole process much easier. Brian was also upfront about fees and costs which were very reasonable in the scheme of things because if it wasn't for him and Hilary, I wouldn't have gotten the outcome I got. All in all, well worth the money and couldn't recommend them enough.

I had no clue about how the TAC claim work.Never even thought of it.It was hard time last 3 years due to injury and covid.

My brother who is transgendered female to male (and incidentally asexual) complained about discrimination made against him on a government web site by a disgruntled employee. The Slater lawyer, a female who shall not be mentioned here, directly accused my brother of being a 'gay in a dress' and 'what's the problem?' This person had absolutely no education about trans and intersex people and her judgemental attitude caused my brother to consider suicide. These lawyers have no heart and I guess would seem to treat anybody different as a second class citizen. I assume they were not interested in the case as there was probably no money in it. Parasites and haters, stay away from these evil people if you have had any problems of discrimination for being LGBTIQ. Luckily he managed to get help elsewhere and the incorrect material on the website was taken down with profuse apologies from the  moderator. You won't get that with S&G. There is far too much hate and hurt against people who are simply trying to be themselves in a challenging narrow-minded society of which Slater & Gordon are no doubt part of and where T folk are sexualised as perverts. It has nothing to do with sexuality which shows how asinine you are. I hope things have improved with S&G since as this happened a little while ago and my brother only now has the courage to speak up about it. He told me just now how hurt and angry he still is about it all. If you get a discriminatory or ignorant attitude from your lawyer I advise you see Beyond Blue or similar as suicide is common amongst trans and intersex people. As for lawyers try Shine instead! Very welcoming no matter what you are or how much you have.

After having the misfortune of sustaining an injury in a car accident I was lucky enough to have Joanne Burns handle my claim and she was excellent from start to finish.
