Stayed in Newcastle 16/04/2024

Stayed in Newcastle 16/04/2024. Asked when booking in if I would like to pay for breakfast. Asked if there was gluten free options and told they have gluten-free bread and could do toast. Went down this morning and asked for some gluten-free toast. Made myself a cup of tea sat down. 10 mins later, warmed stale bread came out. Brought it up to the guy on the desk asking if I could get it toasted and advised that I use the toaster. Explained it was gluten-free bread and needed to be cooked separately. Surely the staff have completed a level 2 in food hygiene, and understand cross contamination? Guy eventually took it away and another 10 minutes later, new warmed stale gluten-free bread came out. Advised by the lady, they have to cook the bread in the oven, which is why it was hard and warm and not toasted. Claimed the hotel does not have a separate toaster for gluten-free bread. I checked Argos, and a toaster costs £14. Surely, the hotel is not that poor it cannot afford a £14 toaster to make sure they are in line with food safety and hygiene standards? And not putting celiac guests at risk of harm. Wish I could upload the photos.

How many hours must I stay out to make sure my bed has been made

Housekeeping schedule needs improving..we have been out since before 10am returned 2.15 pm very wet due to heavy rain outside. Soaking wet aged 77 and 82 yes old. 2.30 Housekeeping called. I asked for bed making and supply of fresh towels. Informed we needed to vacate room for this to be done.I was given towels but am sitting looking at disheveled bed! Mattress heavy for us...to make it up can be a task. Tonight we sleep in an unmade bed the first ever in our 60 years of marriage! I telephoned reception who informs me could could come down 5 floors to sit in the lounge (normally quite busy) that would entail another walk along corridor down lift and another corridor walk back. I have stayed here before and sung my praises for this place but through no fault of my own was to be shuttled about in order to have my bed made. Have had to make appointment for tomorrow to avoid this! Won't be back...

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING, we had our prom in dundee and before hand we booked sleeperz in for a room for 4, on arrival we checked in and they asked for our ID’s but not once did it say we would need them, I am 17 so I don’t carry my ID anywhere because I don’t need it!! So we proceeded to go to our room and check in and everything was fine till we got back at 12:30am and one of the staff says we all have to leave because we never provided ID so we did, no once did they think about where lived. We all live 40 minutes away so then we had to arrange a lift and spent more money on the lift than the hotel! I will be demanding a refund, it’s a very nice hotel but awful experience and totally ruined the night. We weren’t making noise or anything we fully got kicked out because of ID’s and also 2 of us were 17 and 2 were 18 and they said we couldn’t stay because we don’t have a guardian!!! But why let us check in or book it in the first place!

Kicked out Dundee hotel Room got booked for 2 18…

Dundee hotel Room got booked for 2 18 year olds and 2 17 year olds for 1 night they traveled 50 miles for a school prom
They got booked in ok but on returning at 11.30 that night they got put on to the streets as they could not provide ID of their age with no place to stay or get home.
To which I had to drive 100 mile round trip to collect them
This is an absolute disgrace as website clearly says your safety is our priority!!!
This clearly was not your priority
Will definitely never use this chain again

Disappointing

We stayed at this Hotel in Cardiff for 1 night 23rd-24th Nov 2021. On Arrival the Receptionist wasn't very welcoming or friendly. We paid for a Superior Room which was disappointing. We checked on the website and found out there was a Double room £20 cheaper than what we paid for. So we were unhappy because our stay which should of been lovely wasn't.

A lovely hotel in the middle of …

A lovely hotel in the middle of Cardiff, right next to Cardiff Central Station. We asked for a quiet room and we got one, I couldn't believe how quiet it was considering it was right by a pub and the station.
The rooms are small, but cosy, no good if you're claustrophobic, but perfectly fine if you're ok with enclosed spaces. The view from the room wasn't brilliant, but there's not much the hotel can do about that, it looks like there's building work going on opposite.

The bed was very comfy, the breakfast was tasty, the staff were friendly, There were tea and coffee facilities in the room. We had an en-suite room, it was more of a wet room than a separate shower and toilet, but it did the job.

It's very handy for Cardiff Castle and not far from Cardiff Bay, there are also a lot of good restaurants and pubs in the area.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Cardiff, especially if you go by train.
