After a little frustration and a short learning curve it became easy to design and edit my videos, until they were exactly to my liking.
Promo.com has been a lifesaver
Promo.com has been a lifesaver. It has helped me automate publishing posts on a schedule. The AI produces great video content that matches the script. It's a great product at a great cost. Let's Go PROMO
Good Platform, but Increasingly Limited for Technical B2B Content
I have been a Promo.com member since 2019 and, overall, I would describe the platform as good, but increasingly limited for what is now a relatively high-cost option.
The video creation tools are straightforward to use and can produce polished, professional-looking content relatively quickly. I can see Promo working particularly well for businesses promoting consumer products, retail, hospitality or lifestyle services, where there is a large amount of suitable stock footage available.
For companies operating in more technical sectors, however, the limitations become much more noticeable. Our business works across energy, engineering, project management, construction management and major infrastructure projects, and there is a distinct lack of relevant, technically credible video footage and imagery for these areas. Searches frequently return the same clips, and repetition becomes very obvious when producing a number of sector-specific videos.
One of the biggest omissions is the inability to write and control your own complete narrative for an AI voice-over. With the advances now being made in AI-generated speech and video, this should be a fairly standard capability. Being able to provide your own script, select an appropriate voice and have Promo accurately narrate it would significantly improve the usefulness of the platform for professional and corporate content.
The AI functionality can also be frustratingly unreliable at times. I have encountered repeated “Oops, something went wrong” messages when trying to generate content, which interrupts the workflow and becomes particularly annoying when you are trying to produce several videos in succession. For a platform positioning itself around AI-assisted video creation, this part of the experience needs to be more stable.
The AI video generation itself is useful, but it still tends to work much better with generic marketing concepts than with technically detailed industries. Energy infrastructure, engineering projects, construction environments, industrial facilities, project teams, commissioning and complex capital-project delivery are all areas where the available visual library could be considerably stronger.
Having used Promo since 2019, I have seen the platform develop, but for a specialist B2B company such as ours it has become a relatively high-cost option compared with the functionality and range of genuinely usable content available.
For that reason, we have decided not to renew our subscription.
There is still a good product here, but I think Promo now needs to expand beyond predominantly product and consumer-focused marketing content and invest much more heavily in technical, industrial, engineering and infrastructure footage, together with much stronger AI voice-over and script-control functionality and a more reliable AI generation experience.

Fast, Intuitive, and Easy to Customize
Promo.com made it surprisingly easy to create a professional-looking video in a short amount of time. The platform is intuitive, and I was able to generate a good first draft quickly.
I especially liked how simple it was to replace video clips, add an outro, apply my brand guidelines, and choose background music. These features made it easy to customize the video without needing advanced editing skills.
The reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is that I'd like the AI to follow the prompt more closely when generating the initial video. In my case, it interpreted parts of my script differently than I intended. That said, the editing tools made it easy to adjust the result, so it was still a smooth experience overall.

One of the best surprises I’ve had in a while
As a small business owner, I wasn’t expecting much when I tried Promo.com (honestly) most video tools promise magic and then hand you awkward AI Gen dreams. But this turned out to be one of the best surprises I’ve had in a while.
Their PromoAI thing is legit. I literally dropped in our Amazon product link, and it built a clean promo video in minutes. Not some weird robot-generated fever dream — an actual usable video I didn’t have to babysit for hours.
What really sold me is the footage. They use real clips from Getty Images, which feels like a breath of fresh air in a world drowning in over-smooth AI faces. The videos just look… real. Relatable. Like something a brand with a budget would make.
And I’ll be blunt: I expected it to be expensive. It wasn’t. For a small business like ours, it’s affordable, and the value is obvious pretty fast.
If you're a small team trying to look bigger than your coffee budget, give it a shot. It saved me time, stress, and probably a couple gray hairs.

Promo Makes Advertising Simple and Stress-Free”
Promo makes it easy for beginners to create professional, eye-catching ads in minutes—it really feels like magic. Their customer service is exceptional: fast, patient, and always responsive. I had to upgrade and downgrade my subscription multiple times, and each time they quickly processed refunds without any hassle. Truly one of the best support experiences I’ve had online.

Great Quality - No Innovation
I've been using Promo.com since about 2019 when I worked for a company that was testing it out. I fell in love with it. Even the most amateur creator can make incredible videos with Promo.com.
The music catalogue is well organized and, although there are no filters, it's easy to scroll through and listen until you've found what you need for your project.
There are so many video clips to use that it can almost be overwhelming. It's difficult to find what you want so I've had to use a workaround.
I go to the Getty Images website, filter to RF, Rights Released images and then find what I want there. They have ways to filter down to if you want the subject looking at the camera, how you want the camera focused and how many people you want in the clip. Once I've found what I like, I take the ID number and head back to Promo.com to pull it up. It's the only way. Additionally, by doing it this way, I can often find "series" of clips to give my video a cohesive look.
What's most impressive is how the music clips to your video. So it magically ends when your video does. It doesn't, like, just stop in the middle of a beat. It knows to adjust for an ending. However, depending on the music and/or the length of your video, that doesn't always work.
It's not easy to adjust clips in your video. For instance, when you're in Canva, you can tap on a clip and select exactly how long you want it to be. Just want 3 seconds? No problem.
Not so in Promo.com. There's no way to see exactly how long the clip is so you have to drag very carefully and sometimes you can see the length time, and sometimes not. There seems to be no fix for this. It's been that way since inception.
You also have no options for transitions when it comes to video. Just fade and none. That's it. You get a lot more options with still images, but not for video.
I'm the kind of user that shares my feedback when I use a product or service. I'd think they'd want feedback from users to know the pain points for improvement, and also what's working well.
Over the years I've shared a lot of feedback about such pain points and I think it's just a template response when they mention "will be considered for future improvements". Nothing has changed since 2019.
Like the other day I let them know that one of the outros that places the website at the bottom should be raised a little higher because it gets cut off when using it on social media channels, like TikTok. It's been that way for so many years. You'd think if they're designing for social media channels that it would be a high priority that their outros actually work for those channels. Nope. They told me to just use another outro. The outro is beautiful and it was just what I needed to finish my project. So it's just unusable and they're fine with that.
I often have to refresh my browser when creating a video and I mean several times. It freezes up frequently to the point I don't even bother reporting it. It's just how it is. I primarily use Google Chrome, but I've tried in Safari and Firefox and it's all the same.
I feel like the only thing that has changed over the years is the pricing and tossing in some AI. I don't believe they have a development team and that what you see now is what you get forever. Like they said, "This is what it is. Deal with it." I guess they have no incentive to fix anything.
With all that said, the promos I can create can't be beat. It's just the ability to find content to use and the difficulty in setting the timing of clips that can be most crippling.
Annual auto renew policy speak volumes about their ethics
The annual auto renew policy is completely decpetive with no notification of renewal. I don’t understand how there are positive reviews here since the internet is flooded with similar complaints. Horrible company.
AI Videos
The goal was to make simple videos using AI. Promo delivered this functionality in an affordable platform. The AI interface is very easy to use.
Great team, great job

Dishonest company
Dishonest company. Overcharged, turned my cancellation request into 18 more charges at a different rate. When confronted, they claimed not to receive the request and asked me to provide 5 years worth of emails rather than fix their mistake.
