Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 52 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the product quality to be poor, with devices often being faulty, not working as advertised, or producing distorted and tinny sounds. People frequently reported that the hearing aids did not fit properly, even with the smallest ear tips, making them uncomfortable or causing them to fall out. The refund process was a major source of frustration, with many struggling to receive a full refund despite the advertised 45-day risk-free trial, which customers often described as misleading or unfulfilled. Reviewers also highlighted significant issues with customer contact, noting that communication was appalling, responses were delayed, and obtaining a return address was difficult or impossible. However, some people were satisfied with the product, finding the hearing aids to be superior to other options and significantly improving their hearing, leading to a positive impact on their daily lives.

Blatant misleading advertising

Blatant misleading advertising a 45 day risk free trial period. Tried to return them as they’re faulty or just awful and whistle all the time. Their ‘customer services’ initially failed to respond at all. Then when they did they started quoting consumer law stating that hearing aids are hygiene sensitive products and as such cannot be returned under usual consumer law/regulations. So in other words it seems you can only have them “risk free” if you don’t open them… I feel really stupid for not checking the reviews first. A costly mistake.

As soon as the hearing aids arrived my…

As soon as the hearing aids arrived my wife tried to fit them into her ear canals and even the smallest fittings were too large to fit and kept falling out. Trying to get them to fit also messed up any settings causing unbearable noises. They kept making ridiculous suggestions even to the point where we were asked to try dangerous ad on adaptors from a different company paid for by us.If they came adrift in the ear canal it would be a hospital visit! Still waiting for a refund and they are advertising constantly on Facebook with long winded nonsense stories.BEWARE THIS BAD LOT.....I have all of their crazy E.MAILS too. What is Healthy Living Digest ? they fully support Smart Hearing and their Aliases. How can we expose their wrongdoing. I even paid for a 2yr warranty and cleaning kit. SCAM....SCAM.....THEFT.

45 DAY RISK FREE TRIAL is a lie

As with most of these reviews, we bought these hearing aids for my husband because of the 45 DAY RISK FREE TRIAL which is a scam. When within the 45 days my husband failed to get on with them, after doing everything they said and decided they were not suitable and he would stick with his NHS ones, after many emails back and forth we were told that the fault lay with him and they refused to give us a full refund instead gave us a GOOD WILL REFUND of 40%. So if anyone is thinking of buying them DON'T unless you have a spare £100 to waste. It's my fault I didn't follow my normal instinct where I usually say "if something is too good to be true it usually is" and I didn't check out reviews, because I'm so frustrated at not being heard that I believed the hype over it. They also said if we wanted a full refund we would need to involve legal help. I will be contacting Rip off Britain and exposing them for the scammers they are. I'm not saying the product itself isn't good and might work for some people the fault lies with their claim about the 45 DAY RISK FREE TRIAL which is false.

This company does not fulfill promise - leave well alone!!

I ordered hearing aids from this company on the basis of a 45 days trial period. On receipt I opened the package but on reading the info quickly realised they were unsuitable as not bluetooth connectable. Not worn, I informed them & requested to return the aids.
Email communication with them has now ceased except for constant advertising blurb. They seem to refuse to discuss a return/refund and frankly I'm apalled that they are allowed to trade under such false claims!!
Advice: leave well alone!!

First of all they don't fit

First of all, you need large ear holes for the aids to actually to fit. When I did get them in, it was just impossible to give a review, as they didn’t stay in long enough.

Once the package has been opened, no way will they accept their return. A complete waste of money, I would advise anyone contemplating buying these ear aids, DONT!

I have had these 'wonder' hearing aids…

I have had these 'wonder' hearing aids since 2nd May. They do not work for me, dull hearing and unable to get a proper sound that is agreeable. I am trying to get a refund but this company throws up so many obstacles. I definitely would not recommend them. I am going back to my old trusted hearing aids.

These are cheap Chinese toy hearing…

These are cheap Chinese toy hearing aids, and I’m honestly surprised they even bother shipping them if the end goal is to scam people. This company appears to have changed names multiple times, which says everything you need to know.

Do not waste your time going back and forth with them. The quieter you are, the more talkative they suddenly become with endless promises of refunds that probably never arrive. Absolute nonsense designed to exhaust you until you give up. And even if they do offer one, do you really want the nightmare of dealing with their return process? Worse still, by accepting their endless email games and fake resolutions, you may actually weaken your position if you later report this to the police or your bank, because it looks like you accepted their proposed outcome.
The number of reviews that suddenly appeared last month is shocking, and that’s only from the people who actually bothered to leave reviews. I can only imagine how many more victims there are.
The best thing you can do is contact your bank immediately, attempt a chargeback, report the company, and block their emails. The more people who report them to the authorities, the better chance there is of stopping them from scamming others.

If I could give 0 points I would

If I could give 0 points I would. The aids we’re too bulky to get into my ears
I liaised with customer support who dragged it out asking if they improved my hearing despite my explaining I could not seat them. They eventually offered a derisory refund of 30%
They are a disgrace they are in my case not fit for purpose

Don’t buy from Smart Hearing

I order these hearing aids believing that it was for a trial period; after a couple of weeks I realised that they were not working for me and asked to return them. They made all sorts of excuses and offered me half my money back! I didn’t research them properly and would advise other to avoid this company completely

Totally unsatisfactory

Ordered the aid for my wife who is nearing 80 - she did not find it comfortable to wear and the quality of sound was very poor with lot of external noise and a random shrill sound on one side. They would not agree a refund trying to use some legal jargon and made an offer of 40% refund.
Tough I am not having it and have taken it up with the card company and would raise it with my MP if need be.
Please do not order their product and avoid the hassle.

Refunding seems non existent

I cancelled this order within 30.minutes of making it, as I realised it needed an app to work and would be beyond my mother's (the intended recipient) capability.

After a few emails they stopped responding and no refund appeared.

It's now in the hands of my Barclaycards dispute team.
Reading other reviews, it appears that this response is fairly standard for this company. Glad I didn't faff about wasting my time with them.

Do not use this company and beware purchases from social media sites in general. I certainly won't be making any more, it seems to be a scammers paradise

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!

After a week of use I asked for a return address and s full refund.
‘Christine’ from customer support sent me two e mails - eventually - asking a million and one questions; blatant delaying tactics.
The second e mails stated that my request would have to go through their legal department, to see if I qualified.
I have heard nothing since, despite ‘Christine’ assuring me I would hear back within two days.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!!!!

Buyer beware!

After more thsn 2 weeks of trying to return my aids (after 1 week of use) and numerous emails the company have now upped repayment from 30% to 65%. That means, as they will not accept the unopened cleaning kit back, that it would have cost me approx £60 to try their "risk free trial" hearing aids for one week. So I have informed the company i would rather give them to someone who maybe couldn't afford to buy them rather than return them for them to make more profit selling them on again.
So buyer beware from this company!!

The returns procedure.

The returns procedure is extremely difficult. The 45 day guarantee is voluntary and does not guarantee 100% of your money back. It is time consuming to get them to even agree to take them back. They initially offered £45 even though they were open but unused. Eventually the offer was £75.
The company should be more honest with the critical terms and conditions of the return procedure in their advertising.
