It’s a scam. Don’t believe anything they say. I ordered the pods May 1. Right from the start red flags started popping up. They never sent me payment confirmation or an order number. I had to ask for an order number. Then they sent me tracking information that doesn’t look like any I have seen. They are located in Canada so I thought maybe that was why. The tracking ended May 31. Their tracking showed the product had passed through LA customs before that. Weekly I would email and ask why there hadn’t been any movement with my order. They would tell me they couldn’t find my order number then that it was stuck in customs I’d tell them that per their tracking it had cleared customs. If they were truly tracking it they’d know this. At almost two months they said they would give me a full refund. It took 2-3 weeks of frequent contact but I finally got the refund. They kept telling me they’d elevate it to the proper people. If you value your time and money do not do business with this company.

I really wanted to like these. They are solid and stainless steel but I had nothing but problems from the start.
1st - I ordered a Smartpodz Starter Pack on May 10 and it didn't arrive until July 7.
2nd - The handheld frother that was supposed to be included was missing.
3rd - The podz do not work. Water/coffee spews out the back and into the drip catcher instead of out the spout.
4th - I realized they sent the wrong pods. I was supposed to receive ones with lids that have many holes and they sent ones with a single hole. My Nespresso maker requires lots of holes in the top of the pod.
5th - Overall, the product is worthless and the company is a rip-off. Customer service has not responded to my requests for a return and refund.
7/29 Update. I was unable to reach Smartpodz by phone and they respond to emails with one excuse after another. I emailed a complaint and images of what I recieved along with the package that included the tracking number on Wed, Jul 09, 2025, at 03:50 AM.
The issues are that the SmartPodz they finally sent me FAIL TO WORK with my Nespresso Pixie despite their claim that they are 100% compatible; they do not match the multi-hole model depicted (repeatedly on their website); AND I was supposed to receive a filling funnel (included per specifications) and a milk-frother (free with any $50 order). To date I have received neither.
The company takes zero responsibility for the failure of their product, despite the 100% compatibility claim. They refuse to accept returns or provide refunds despite the “risk-free guarantee" on the webpage for the product I ordered.
Smartpodz replied to my Trustpilot review stating they were waiting for me to verify my Nespresso model, which they requested on July 21 and I responded on July 22. Further, they claim I received the pods 8 days after confirming my order on June 19. FALSE - the pods didn't arrive until July 7 - 18 NOT 8 days after confirming the order (13 if you exclude weekends and July 4th) and a total of 58 days from my order date, May 10. They say there was a temporary processing issue – the issue was they failed to mail the product claiming my address was wrong – AGAIN FALSE, which can be confirmed via their email on May 10 verifying my order.
I can confirm every claim I have made via copies of my order, tracking information, screenshots, and digital copies of the SmartPodz webpages, before and after they deleted their “risk-free guarantee,” for the Original Starter Pack I ordered.
Bottomline – DO NOT buy SmartPodz. All you will get for $89.99 are excuses from the company and aggravation because the product FAILS to perform as advertised so is WORTHLESS.
Their response (below) says it all especially the part about my “case will be transferred to a HUMAN AGENT for further review and support.”

• The current SmartPodz design for Nespresso Original machines—including your Pixie EN127S—features a single central hole in the lid (not multiple holes, as shown in some older images). This update is intentional and compatible with most Nespresso Original machines, so even if it looks different from the website, that is currently the only available style.
• From our records, the starter pack you received doesn’t include a milk frother in the shipped package, and there’s no indication in your specific order that it was included or accidentally omitted. If you have an order confirmation or promotion screenshot showing the frother was promised, please share that with us so we can look into it further.
• Regarding your request for a refund: SmartPodz orders are final sale as outlined in the store policy. Refunds are only possible for unfulfilled or undelivered orders, or if a defect or missing item is confirmed within 5 days of delivery. Since your order was delivered over a month ago, this may affect refund eligibility, but I want to be thorough and fair—to proceed, could you please share clear photos of the pods you received and the packaging? This helps us verify the issues directly and see if any next steps are possible.
I know this isn't the solution you were hoping for, but your case will be transferred to a human agent for further review and support. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.”

Website said they would ship within five days. It took me 25 days to actually get them. I had to send emails to customer support for them to find my order, it somehow had gotten lost. Then the package had to be shipped from mainland China and was stuck in customs for about 16 days. No instructions at all come with the pods. Coffee has crema on it when it comes out, but it falls right away and just leaves behind a regular cup of coffee. The volume is nowhere near what a regular pod would deliver. Between having to clean the pods, the pods not producing the same quality of coffee, and the potential wear and tear on the machine, I don’t think this is worth the money.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT! Even worse company. I placed my $62.99 order and was promised it would arrive in a few days. Several weeks later & 12 EMAILS asking where the product I was told it was shipped from China to Canada. I told them I wanted to request a refund but was told it was in delivery process and I had to wait til it arrived. It finally arrived in a beat up package. I decided to was one pod so I could try it out. During the wash/drying by hand I could see the dishcloth was brown! It had been used!!! I still decided to try it out. The coffee was so weak looking and worse tasting. I told them I wanted to continue with the refund processing and was then told THEY DO NOT REFUND TO CUSTOMERS. Instead they sent a one page instruction on how to use it. Folks, stick with the real deal NESPRESSO. this product, even if it came on time, was not used and even if it made a decent cup of coffee it's cumbersome to use every day. I believe the reason it takes so long to get it is they are continually sending the PODS that are returned!!!

Been waiting 44 days, contacted customer service numerous times and they claim it will be delivered. I live in New Hampshire, ordering from a website based in Canada, could drive there in 8 hours or less, but they chose to source out of China. They have no solution to offer except "please be patient". Sorry but no, they made the choice to outsource, and still charge a premium. Website as of 5 minutes ago claims 1-2 weeks max for US. Tracking says delayed still so I dont expect to ever get them. Cheaper manufacturing is rarely better Smartpodz, fix it or keep getting bad reviews.

Terrible, terrible experience with the product and the company. I bought the pods in March, didn’t receive until May. Tried every possible variation (more coffee, less coffee, different grinds, different tamping pressure), nothing worked and the pod continually got stuck in my Nespresso machine.
I contacted customer service and they said that I could return the pods to them at their address in Canada for a full refund upon receipt. This cost me additional expense (about $18). Now, about a month later, I received the package back in the mail, marked Return to Sender (noting it was not accepted at the delivery site!).
I would never recommend purchasing from this company. The cost for these pods was about $58 and there are near identical ones on Amazon for less than $20 (which also probably don’t work).
If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered the Smartpodz on 6/7, money was deducted from my account 6/9 and I have NEVER received the product. I’ve left 3 voicemails and sent numerous emails. I kept getting excuses and now it shows they cancelled my order. No response regarding a refund either.

UPDATE: I was contacted by Smartpodz after my previous review with a satisfactory resolution. I am pleased to report that my product is now being shipped out.
Got my Smartpodz order in about 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier! I especially like the way I can customize the brand and strength of my brew on a daily basis depending on my mood. Customer service was great at guiding me to the right pod based on my equipment. Delivery is slower than Amazon - but worth the wait. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend these pods! I tried them and they work great. Saving so much money not ordering from Nespresso now.

Got the starter pack and these pods actually work. Used Fine Ground McDonalds Cafe Coffee and it was like I used an expensive throw away Nespresso pod. Was worried about the strength as I take it black but all good. Everyone should use these!
Horrible company. They have a detailed return policy. My new Nespresso stopped working before I got to try these pods. I returned the defective Nespresso and decided not to get another one. I never opened the SmartPodz package. They refused a return authorization. And from what I have read, these stainless steel pods can ruin the Nespresso.
A scam Canadian made in China company. Avoid at all costs.

Product never shipped. When you call they say they are on another line but they really never answer the phone. Support only by email. They say they will look into it. THeir support is not very good at all.
I was just reminded to write this review as I was loading all the things I am donating into my car, including the $82 worth of three SpartPodz's that I wasted my money on.
I have a Nespresso Vertuo machine. I tried it once and it made a weak, unappealing tasting 'double espresso' and I thought, "okay, buy some fresh dark roast coffee, which is appropriately ground, and give it another try. I finally got around to it, and the result was the same. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. FURTHER, a red light came on and it stopped brewing. It took a few more tries with authentic Nespresso Pods, and it seems fine now. LESSON LEARNED. Customer Service is below average at best; it took 6 weeks to receive it and they do not accept returns if you have used it so better make sure you are going to be one of the lucky ones before you spend the money.
These Smartpodz were a Christmas gift for my Nepresso Vertue Pop from my husband. I/we had several issues...1)arrived a month late!!!, no manual/instructions in the package-had to watch Youtube, 2) had stickers with bar codes, stickers said "40,80,150" (the podz themselves have a laser bar code already on them)-no explanation as to what they were for. Called customer service, no answer. emailed twice before I got response. 3) Podz did not work in the Nepresso machine. Machine would not read bar codes. First initial contact was early February, asked for a refund. Instead customer service said try this, try that, etc. Contacted customer service several times in the month of February, sent videos, explained the issues, asked for refund, never got issue resolved, got the run around from customer service. 4) Spoke with same CSR, Jessica, every time via email. Was informed that Smartpodz had a 14 day return policy. Informed Jessica that was unacceptable and said I was writing a review. Amazingly, I was advised to return the product for a full refund, address provided as to where to return product (we are now into March). 5) No return label from company was provided. Mailed via USPS on March 7, 2025, cost almost $30 (mailed to Ontario, involves customs paperwork), verified that product had been received on march 17, 2025. Informed that refund would be processed. Never received refund. Contacted CS on March 31, 2025 in regards to refund, was told they "would look into and get back to me shortly". NEVER heard from them and NEVER received the refund. 6) also contacted Nepresso about the podz, since I could not get them to work and Nepresso does not recommend this product be used on their machines!!! 7) Did my due diligence by communicating on several occasions about product, sent product back on GOOD FAITH on my own dime, verified product was received, and have been MORE then patient about receiving refund. Had to contact credit card and report company as fraudulent and a fraudulent purchase.
Customer service initially seems good and willing to work with you, but it is all a scam. Avoid this company and this product. Order your coffee pods from Nepesso, if you are concerned about waste and recycling, Nepresso will send you a recycling bag for free with your order that already is prelabeled with a return label. All you have to do is fill it and drop it off at UPS.
Avoid Smartpodz!!!
