Appalling after sales service.
Top of range cooker 7 years old - burnt out PCB. A routine repair but SMEG do not keep spares. 2 or more weeks without a cooker waiting for delivery from Italy. Having to buy another cooker, what with Christmas so close.
Appalling after sales service.
Smeg UK Customer Service made it right
I'm updating my original review of 'poor'. We bought a Smeg Portofino range cooker in orange model CPF9GPOR. It arrived with a serious fault that came and went. Smeg sent out an engineer four times but couldn't fix it. Eventually, Smeg UK agreed to swap-out the cooker for a brand-new one. My initial review was negative as, initially, a Smeg Customer Service rep suggested it was our fault. But, after they investigated, they organised an exchange without any issue. We're now happy, good service.
We bought a SMEG Toaster about 8 years…
We bought a SMEG Toaster about 8 years ago. This year(2022) there was a short circuit and the shop in Munich where we bought it told me they have to send it to SMEG for repair. It took 2 months to get it back . It could not be fixed and they kept the 35 € we had to pay to them just so that they have an eye on it. The information is that the Toaster was too old and that they don't have spare parts any more. For a toaster of this high price spare parts should be kept definitely much longer. Here it was a spring .
I have identified the cooker hood lamp…
I have identified the cooker hood replacement lamp which I require. It seems impossible to access the old lamp without breaking the plastic cover panel. It is impossible to access guidance on this point since the questions in the Advice section are all pre-set but do not cover my question! There is a suggestion on the website that I should call out a technician to install it- do they really mean this to install a lamp!!! The video in the advice section shows a cooker hood which is nothing like mine. I can't believe that I am unable to get advice for my model KSE60X3. I used to think that SMEG were a very reliable company but now I am not sure.
Overpriced piece of crap that discolours
Bought a Smeg stainless toaster and kettle. Less than 1 year into low to moderate use of both small appliances respectively, they began to tarnish from the heat. Contacted their customer service and was told that this is not covered under warranty. The warranty states nothing about discoloration. These small appliances are quite pricey and definitely do not stand up to normal use. I would not recommend, Customer service sucks and Lowes Canada said to contact them. Will never buy another overpriced Italian piece of crap.
