I had a problem with the telescopic shelf guides in our Smeg Range oven and got in touch with Smeg to sort out the issue.
Resolution has taken a while but with the help and perseverance of Michelle, the lady who has been very patient and I have to say efficient and helpful we have got there.
Very many thanks to Smeg, but particularly to Michelle, a great service and one that I would heartily recommend.

After spending a lot of money on Smeg devices over the years - I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone - we purchased:
SMEG four slice toaster / lasted two years
SMEG filter coffee maker / lasted three years now trips the electrics
SMEG two slice toaster / lasted three years now trips electrics
SMEG kettle - lasted three years - trips electrics
SMEG fridge/freezer - freezer no longer works
The tripping has been in different houses - currently we live in a brand new build with good electrics

We had a problem with our Smeg kettle, I contacted Customer Service directly Louise and Joanna were both involved to resolve the issue. Both Louise and Joanna were extremely understanding and helpful and made the process very easy. Our kettle was replaced very promptly. Thanks so much to Louise and Joanna. I would highly recommend Smeg for after sales service and for taking on board the customers complaint efficiently.

From the first email I hesitantly sent to Smeg the service i have received from Smeg has been second to none.
Jocelyn has returned my emails daily and the request to help me with my kettle was literally resolved in 4 working days and despite my kettle being out of warranty I was offered a replacement for under £50 which I believe was a very generous offer. The brand Smeg has certainly impressed me with their level of customer service and Jocelyn has certainly been extremely helpful and supportive and is an asset to the company. Thank you

Hi,
Thank you for your response.
I’m happy to provide further detail.
The issue relates to a fault with the microwave door catch. This component has already failed once during the original warranty period and was replaced at that time. It has now failed again, which suggests this is not normal wear and tear but a recurring fault.
This is a built-in appliance from a premium brand, and I would reasonably expect it to last significantly longer than two years without repeated failure of a key component.
I have raised this directly with SMEG, but the options offered require me to pay for labour or contribute towards a replacement. Given the history of this fault, I do not feel this is reasonable.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, products should be durable and of satisfactory quality. A repeated failure of the same part indicates this appliance may not meet those standards.
I would welcome SMEG reviewing this again and offering a fair resolution.
Kind regards,
Jane
I’m afraid to say I’ve had very poor experience with Smeg. I bought a top of the range built in microwave complete with grill. Unfortunately there is a serious design fault with the door hinge which means that any steam present within the microwave during heating or cooking prevents the door from opening. This has rendered our microwave un-useable. This fault occurred within the two year warrently period and was repaired. However the problem remained and has got steadily worse. We have to wait up to 30 minutes before we can open the door. Very disappointed with Smeg.

What made the experience great? The person who helped us at Customer Services, Jo!!! Turns out we didn't have an issue and it took Jo checking things out for us, looking at photos we sent and asking the right questions before we realised I'd totally misunderstood something. Jo was patient and helpful and left me feeling served and valued as a customer.

Going around in circles with the AI bot so I emailed ‘sales’. Within a day or two I had a response from Michelle. Laid out all the issue I was having with my Smeg device. Followed up a day later with a request for model and serial number. Day after that, missing parts in the post. Perfect! Thank you Michelle!

I recently had an issue with my coffee machine and contacted customer care. Michelle helped me resolve the problem quickly, and I really appreciate it.
The machine still acts up from time to time, but the customer care team is always helpful.

Having had very small issue with a kettle, a representative by the name of Charlotte handled our query with understanding and efficiency - well beyond some other companies that I have dealt with in the past, I cannot praise her and Smeg on the whole enough, superior products with matching customer care, pay the little extra and get the best, This is one 6 Smeg appliances we own and will definitely stick to the brand, the colour choices are varied and will suit any home - we favour the light blue and our kitchen looks bright and adds to the ambience
Thank you

Terrible aftercare from Smeg. Spent thousands of pounds on their products when purchasing a new kitchen. Dishwasher seal was passing water, which Smeg finally replaced and accepted fault with their product, after months of communications. However unwilling at accept responsibility for the damages caused to the new kitchen units by their fridge unit, which was leaking water. To be informed by the Smeg rep, "this is what home insurance is for". Completely unacceptable response. Why should a home insurance claim be processed, which will increase my premium due to their faulty product. I would never purchase Smeg premium priced products again and advise others through this experience to consider the poor standard of aftercare before purchasing.

I bought a smeg fridge its 6 yrs old this month! Smeg just tripped off the electric circuit late last night and i contacted smeg uk this am as its out of warranty its not really their problem! I was given a number for samsung who will service it or an independent service guy who is based in dublin and i live 90km away as its paddys day that wont be happening today ..i will attempt again to ring tomorrow am as i have medication in my fridge now and food which will have to be discarded. Fridge is gone off after spending the night clicking loudly and the light flashing originally last night . No issues up until then! I have replaced the smeg kettle three times in. 6 yrs and the toaster has been fine also i live alone and work 4 days a wk outside the home so i dont recommend the kettle i bought my daughter a kettle and toaster and again we have replaced her kettle so not great on the appliances for the price of them . Will repost a report on the fridge when ever i manage to get a engineer out . As i suspect its not fixable after 6 yrs and as the only person in the house i cant say it had heavy use to say i am disappointed with smeg is an understatement
I have just had an email from smeg and after 5 days of no fridge i still have no service engineer after they gave me two numbers which i contacted within the day after it happened! I am not looking for anything for free just simply a review by an engineer to see what is wrong with it! Having to remove my medication from the fridge and bring it 25 mins down the rd i have had to stay with my friend as this needs to be refridgerated ..so going into the wkend with still no appointment ! Like i said i didnt ask for help free of charge i simply looked for an engineer to review the issue and purchase a part we are now out of action since last Monday and i am allegedly seeing an engineer tomorrow no time frame being given! You shouldnt sell products that you cannot provide names and numbers of people to service

Bought a washing machine from Smeg paid a premium to ensure quality and that it would last, with 2 year warranty. Broke after 18 months, been almost 3 months out of action whilst appointments changed last minute and engineers have come and gone without the parts they need to hand, terrible follow up and comms between them their engineers me etc exhausting.
Updated - the washing machine was finally fixed, the experience was sweetened when they got in touch to offer a free small appliance as an apology. The flippin' nice coffee machine arrived extremely promptly - thank you Jocelyn and Steph, that doesn't usually happen and did cheer me up a lot!
