Written by the company

Our firm has been representing clients for more than 100 years. We represent clients in Clark, Floyd, Scott, Washington, and Harrison Counties in Indiana, and in Jefferson, Shelby, Oldham, Bullitt, and Spencer Counties in Kentucky. History on Your Side – Dating Back to 1905 The present Smith Carpenter Law firm, previously known as Fox & Smith, is the outgrowth of a law practice commenced in 1905 by Wilmer Fox. The senior Mr. Fox moved into the old Citizens’ Bank building located at the southeast corner of Court and Spring when that building was built in 1907. Wilmer was joined by his son, Charles Fox, who practiced law until his death in 1975. The law firm occupied that space until 1986 when it moved into the Holzbog House, that was built in 1896 and is located at 209 East Chestnut Street in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Since it’s inception the firm has had a strong heritage in Southern Indiana and now the Louisville metropolitan area, providing quality legal services in a competent and efficient manner.
