Spot on good communication

1 week after I placed my order i rang to get an update and was told that it hadn't even been dispatched yet and with no real certainty as to when it would get under way i cancelled my order , its a real shame as the coal is great.

Trying to get a delivery time was far from simple from the haulage company.

I ordered a tonne of eco -glow smokeless fuel on the 29th of march and I am still waiting for it I have emailed them several times and I have only had one reply so I'm not very happy and I even asked if I wasn't going to get any coal this week then could I have a refund and that hasn't been replied to

Very nice to find a firm to deal with, very easy to order online line, prompt service and a very polite, helpful driver. Could not fault.

Purchased 1 metric ton pallet of 50 x 20 kg ECO GLOW Smokeless Briquettes. I have used high quality Taybrite smokeless Briquettes for 25 years in my multi fuel stove. But now completely converted to this new excellent product for the following reasons-

This is our second pallet. Burns well. Good heat. Got a phone call from the courier when he got to our storage. Will be ordering again.

Ordered smokeless coal a couple of times, turns up on time and burns great.

Recieved my first order of coal from smokeless coal express was delivered within their stated time which was quite good especially following storm goretti .I ordered the stove fuel at a very competitive price i am very pleased with the quality of the coal burns brighter and hotter than the coals i have tried before so im very happy with my purchase and wont hesitate using coal express again thanks again .

I bought a tonne of Ecostove in 2024 and it was fine. It burned longer and with less ash than the product supplied by a local coal merchant.
In November '25, I ordered another tonne. Same packaging, same advertised description, but what a disappointment!
It was December before I used my first bag from the new delivery. On opening it, the fuel was obviously damp. When it came to lighting the fire, I had to add additional kindling to get the fuel to catch. Once lit, the air control on the stove needed to be kept almost fully open or the fire died down.
When setting the fire the following day, it was clear that the fuel had produced at least 1/3 more ash than the previous batch.
I tried again for a few days and the experience was the same, so I phoned Smokelessfuelexpressuk. The man who answered the phone, after I had told him my concerns, said that they had not had any other complaints like this and he would have to speak to his supplier and would call me back the following week. He did say that he would be able to give me a discount on my NEXT order (!!!), which I declined, given the problem with the current delivery.
He did not phone me back, so I sent a message using the contact link on their website - no response. I also sent the same message on a direct email (so I had proof of sending/receipt) and had no response.
After the new year, I phoned again and got the same person I had spoken to previously. He said that he was the manager and apologised for not phoning back.
He told me that the the supplier had changed the mix of ingredients in the Ecostove fuel and had added willow(???) to 'make it more eco friendly.'
I said that the product was inferior to that previously supplied, despite all the packaging and advertising remaining the same. I also pointed out that I had weighed a sample of the fuel, fresh from the bag, and put it in the garage. After 3 weeks, it weighed 7% less, obviously due to water evaporation. I said that I had basically paid for 7% water and asked for a partial refund on the price that I had paid.
He said that he would have to 'speak to the owner' about that and once again said he would phone me back.
Another week has gone by and I've not had a call.
Absolutely terrible customer service!

Over the past few weeks, I've reached out via email three times to determine the arrival date of my order. Unfortunately, I haven't received any deliveries or responses from the company. Meanwhile, they continue to request feedback on Trustpilot.

Easy to order, great product, excellent service, every year never let's us down.
