Do Better Waterloo Sobeys

Each store is different...some better than others...the Waterloo location is brutal. They never have what I need in stock. Very frustrating. From coconut whip cream to Braggs soy sauce or ice cream. I've even gone back several times to check if the items were restocked and have been disappointed every time. Their variety of plant based foods is a joke as well, compared to their other locations.

Very Poor Customer Service

Sobeys customer service is a total laugh, they do nothing for the customer, don't waste your time, shop at Atlantic Superstore instead. I have not been receiving weekly Air Miles offers and have complained repeatedly to no avail. A very angry long time customer.

Sobeys and safeway SUCK

Sobeys AND Safeway Prices are almost always higher than competitors, And They definitely know this because you can't even look up specific items on their websites. which is the most annoying thing. I just wanna check what chocolate milk costs man. Why is that so difficult with sobeys. From now on Ill be shopping at walmart and loblaw owned companies. At least they tell me their prices on websites.

I shop at Sobeys on a daily basis and…

I shop at Sobeys on a daily basis and spend thousands of dollars there. I went the other day to get a few things and one of the items was cheddar cheese, there was the Cracker Barrel old fort cheddar for 4.49. As I was preparing dinner I opened the cheese pack that same evening and it was all mouldy. Unfortunately, I had literally just thrown away the receipt somewhere. I just so happen to be in the middle of a move and I went to go look for the receipt to take back and I couldn’t find it or I never it got from the cashier. My bf went to take it back the next day and they wouldn’t take it back with no receipt. I’m sorry but after spending thousands of dollars at your store and you can’t take back a cheese that cost $4.50 With out a receipt is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t think I will be going to Sobeys any more for my daily grocery needs, really disappointed. You would think after selling bad mouldy food and having to take time out of the day to return they would be apologizing receipt or not.

Shocking behavior from Voila and the driver

I ordered a big delivery of food for tonight. Driver called me and said he can't come to my apartment because of the restrictions. I didn't know anything about that. Until last week, they would come to my door and deliver the food. I told him I can't come down and get the groceries because I won't be able to carry them. He said he will call customer care. I called him back in a few minutes, he said he called them and they still told him not to go up because of the restrictions. I told him I won't be able to carry the groceries because of back pain. He said he will call customer service again. I waited for at least half an hour. Neither the driver nor customer service called me. I called the driver at his cell several times, he would not pick up. I finally had to go down to see if the truck was still there. I did not see the truck. I could not believe he was gone. When I came back to my apartment, there was an email that my order was cancelled. I am so shocked. I will never go anywhere near Sobeys or Voila anymore.

Royal Oak Sobeys Calgary Store Shopping

I was at Sobeys Royal Oak Store in Calgary on dec 23 2021. They don’t have a self check out, so for a few items you have to go to “customer service”. Well, I stood in line with 10 other customers ( The main checkouts were crowded with only a few cahiers available). By the time it was my turn, the express lane opened and guess what, everyone rushed for it and left me stranded. I’m 70 years old and completely fed up with Sobeys. I will not shop there ever again although it is the closest store. Shame on Sobeys, the store manager and their employees.

My sobey. Always dependable and more than just a grocery store

Last Saturday I had the third and last engagement party for our daughter. I have had two previous ones in the last six years. Sobey on tenth line catered all three. My last one was just as amazing as the first two. The staff always take their time to suggest and explain. I cannot thank them enough. All the departments. Deli fruit and bakery. Thank you to you all for the support. Special than you to Mary who reminded me what I forgot to order, and relieving my anxiety. Thank you to MY SOBEYS who are always there when I need them

Sobey’s ignores customer complaints

EVERY complaint I have emailed to IGA has been referred to Sobey’s head office, who in turn ignore me.

They’ve clearly displayed their contempt on more than one occasion. I now shop elsewhere. Why should I pay 20%-30% more for the same product just to be insulted?

Worst grocery chain, period

I have lived all over North America. Sobeys is without hesitation the single worst grocery store chain out there. Prices are always higher. Selection is always poorer. Sale items are never stocked. Clerks are rude, and poorly trained. Items that are marked down, half the time aren't in the system, which takes time to sort out with a poorly trained, rude employee. It has gotten to the point where easily 50% of the time I walk into the store, I walk out empty handed. I refuse to pay these greedly so and so's to gouge the consumer.

As a customer I was quite surprised on…

As a customer I was quite surprised on the markup of some products. I can buy Stanichy meat products from the producer for $8.40 a pound. Sobeys charges $13.99 a pound. They sold it last year for $10.00 a pound, not bad and then raised the price to $12.00, then to $13.99. price gouge? Makes more sense to charge less and sell more. Good business sense doesn't enter the picture. That said, Saveon food store sells the same product for close to $17.00 a pound. Over 100 percent markup.

On sale scam

Everytime I shop at sobeys and get an item marked down when the cashier rings it up, it shows full price. Everytime its a hassle I have to watch the screen to see if it shows up the marked down price, tell the cashier what the marked down price is and then she calls someone and they take like 5 mins to confirm the discount price. its deliberately set up that way because they know most people won't watch when its scanned and will mistakenly pay the full price... its 2021 there's no excuse for this kind of incompetence.

Buyer Beware

I can't believe I was sold oysters well past the 'best before date' by approx. 3 weeks!! Harvested/Packaged Apr. 23, 2021, BBD May 21, 2021, purchased June 10, 2021. I had even had a conversation with the person in the department about the freshness of the item and was assured they were 'all the same" as to which were freshest! He had bagged them, it wasn't until I got home and had prepped and eaten several that I noticed a couple of the oysters were open, then saw the stickers on the box with the dates. I was completely blown away!! Luckily I kept the receipt and photographed the items for return - hopefully, someone will be held accountable for this practice!

Sobeys is a disgusting store to shop at !

Sobeys is a disgusting store to shop at.
Prices are always higher than their competitors. ALWAYS, 50 cents or a dollar more a pound on everything.
Price tags are placed to confuse and misguide people and this is totally purposeful.
Why anyone shops at this over priced store is beyond me.

They never have enough checkouts open

They never have enough checkouts open. The staff is rude. And the prices are way too high compared to other grocery stores. After today I am never going back to shop there again. Sad excuse for a grocery store, rip off plaza is more like it.

Tenderloin Roasts

So disappointed in how Sobeys trims their meat. They advertised wonderful roasts for the holidays. Did not remove the sinew and a lot of the fat. Charging $20,00 a pound. Talked to the meat manager and he said “it’s how Sobeys wants it done”. This is ridiculous—-no customer wants meat rimmed this way! I have pictures and would be happy to share! Store is on North Park Brampton.

Selfish staff at customer service desk…

Selfish staff at customer service desk today...one cart clerk who wore a mask under his nose then onto his chin...guess it was easier to converse with coworkers that way.. selfish. Needs a refresher as to why masks are required and how to wear one.

Will not see me again

So I go into the locale Sobeys to buy flowers, no shopping just flowers. I'm told I MUST bring a cart into the store???????????? This is the second time this happened, the other time was for a single loaf of bread, I MUST bring a cart into the store. I'm all for any precaution to prevent COVID 19 but really I'm not picking anything else up, I'm getting a single item. So today I ask to see the manager to discuss store policy and he or she is to busy to see me. Really what horrible customer service. I go home and check Sobeys COVID policy and could not find a word that I MUST use a shopping cart.

I will not be shopping at Sobeys ever again !!!!!!!
