"behind on orders" also behind on responses

Late notice regarding being "behind on orders" . Placed my order on the 27th of February. Later found a notice on their website that orders placed on March 2nd and beyond that they'll be delivered within 10 days of purchase. I am already at 13 days.

Emailed a week ago, no response, called their orders update line, no answer , called their customer service line no answer.

Super Scummy to not even give a response. Going to have to file a non compliance with my credit card now. annoying because it's only about a 40 dollar purchase.

Never Responded. Could not pick up my order.

First time buying, I placed an order for local pickup, I then received an email saying order completed and ready to pick up. It also said to contact them to arrange a time to pick it up. Initially I sent a couple of emails and got no response. This was right before Christmas so I gave them the benefit of the doubt as it's a busy time for everyone. I tried again in the new year, still nothing. Eventually after waiting a month, they refunded my order without ever replying to any messages about this order.

Not sure how they can do business like this, I've been more than patient. All they needed to do was give me a time and place to pick it up!

EDIT: SodaSyrup responded below saying they refunded me and shipped my order but I never received anything.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. You’re absolutely right to be frustrated, and we’re genuinely sorry for the lack of clear communication around your pickup.
You did everything correctly, and we should have been more proactive and explicit. While we did respond to some earlier emails, it’s clear that follow-up and coordination broke down during an extremely busy holiday period when we were closed from December 19 through January 8 and operating with limited availability. That’s on us.
To resolve this we felt it was best to ship the order via ICS, and refund it in full. It is expected to arrive within the next two business days. You should receive it shortly.
We are working to update our pickup messaging and internal process to better reflect closures and availability so this doesn’t happen again. As a small, owner-operated business, feedback like this genuinely helps us tighten things up.
We appreciate your patience, and we’re sorry your first experience with us fell short.

Wish I had read the reviews here before…

Wish I had read the reviews here before ordering. I ordered over $100 of syrup at the end of December. Their site advertises 24-48h time to ship, but my order is still "processing" even thought they were happy to take the money. I've tried a number of times to contact them for a status update, but emails and phone calls go unanswered.

The delay occurred over the holiday period when we were closed from December 19 through early January, and we’re currently catching up on a backlog of orders. That said, we recognize that our advertised timelines and communication didn’t reflect that clearly enough, and that’s on us.

I had an incredibly frustrating…

I had an incredibly frustrating experience waiting for the company to ship the product. I made the order in early October and the product wasn't shipped until November. This was only after several communications that were left unanswered, and the ones that were answered I still had to follow up on. For example, at the two week mark I checked in to get an estimate on when it would be shipped, and they said it would be packed and shipped within 48 hours. A week and a half later and nothing has arrived yet. After several attempted phones calls and unanswered emails and I finally got a response saying that would finally package it and ship it through Purolator 3 weeks later. They had mentioned that they have been having difficulties with their primary shipping company which is understandable, but the lack of communication as a customer regarding this baffles me. I do not recommend ordering from this company.

I had a troubling experience with soda…

I had a troubling experience with soda syrup last year with an order. Not exactly sure what the issue was but eventually they made everything right. I decided to try a second order in August. Half the order was sent out within a week after me contacting them. But despite tens of emails no package showed up. Just last night they sent an email saying the order is complete. They can’t seem to get the product out in any semblance of timely. I wouldn’t bother ordering from them

Excellent customers services

First I was worried because of my order on processing status for 10 days without any update and after seeing some reviews here. But since all bad reviews have been answered by the seller I try to contact him and have response next day saying he will process the delivery next day what he did!!! 5 days later : 20 liters of coke syrup !!! So I suggest you to confirm your order once payed maybe the seller dont receive alert when a purchase is done but I assure you he is a legit seller. Thank you :)

5 star customer service

Well somehow my first order was lost in the shuffle. To the company's defense I believe it was a Hotmail filtering issue. Once aware, this company went above and beyond to accommodate me. My order was shipped out on a Thursday from Alberta, at my door in Ontario on Monday. The guys I had to deal with were top notch. Most company's don't seem to care about customer service, these guys definitly care.

Company is a scam

Scam of a company. Currently disputing my transaction for order #03030 with my bank as I ordered end of January and have not received my order and it is now the end of May. They responded to my first few emails over the last few months saying give it 48 hours and then contact us again if you don’t get it, and I did that then they said they were reshipping it and that they would give me a new tracking number when they got one. I never got another email after that and they stopped responding to my emails. My order was $150. Whoever is running that place is doing a really good job running it into the ground.

You’re absolutely right- waiting four months for a $150 order is unacceptable, and it’s on us that you had to chase updates. I’m sorry it ever felt like a scam.

What happened

Shipments #1 & #2 (Jan 31 & Mar 11) went missing in transit. That’s our responsibility, not the courier’s. We didn't follow up. (We've implemented a new system that lets us know when packages don't arrive).

Shipment #3 (May 26) was packed by me personally. Canpar tried to deliver on May 27; your box is now waiting for pickup at their local depot. (I can resend the tracking link privately.)

Your follow-up emails landed in a spam filter - an explanation, not an excuse. We should have made your order “priority until resolved.”

Your options

1. Pick up the parcel at Canpar - just bring ID and the tracking number.
2. Full refund - let me know and I’ll refund the entire $149.54 today.
3. Something else? Tell me what works best for you; I’ll make it happen.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This company is an absolute scam, run with zero accountability and no professionalism. Communication is virtually nonexistent. They lie about shipping times, dodge emails, and hide behind a fake "live chat" that is anything but live. Their contact info is vague, their hours are unclear, and it's no surprise they have zero social media presence- there's nothing transparent about how they operate.

We had to fight tooth and nail just to get our money back. It reached the point where we had to involve our bank to ensure they couldn't fraudulently charge our credit card again. Their refund process is deliberately evasive, slow, and painful-clearly designed to wear you down.

I've seen the positive reviews, and frankly, I don't buy them. They're either fake, paid for, or complete flukes. Our experience was a nightmare from start to finish.

This was our mistake for not digging deeper before handing them our money. Let it not be yours. Do not waste your time, energy, or hard-earned cash on this operation. I've reported them to the Alberta Registry, and I strongly encourage others to do the same. This company should not be allowed to continue operating.

Update after seeing their response:
It's quite humorous how quickly they can respond to negative reviews. But not respond in a timely fashion for customers who have paid. I also like to correct your response. A chargeback was mentioned if your company chose not to do anything. Additionally I'm still waiting for a refund on my credit card. In fact I think I'll call my bank right now and process the charge back since the refund hasn't come through. Thank you for showing your dedication to reviews and not to your paying customers.

Your order was placed after business hours on Monday and was fulfilled on schedule-within the timeframe published on our website. It was ready for pickup Friday as promised. We responded to your inquiry during business hours on Wednesday, and confirmation emails were sent as well. However, as noted in previous correspondence, Hotmail accounts often filter our messages, which appears to have happened in this case.

Your follow-up messages on Thursday evening and Friday morning were both sent outside of our business hours. While we do our best to respond quickly, we’re a small team and cannot always reply instantly, especially before we’ve opened for the day.

Once a chargeback was threatened because we hadn't responded overnight, we made the decision to refund the order rather than risk releasing it - particularly since pickup was to be done by someone other than the cardholder. Chargebacks carry steep penalties for small businesses, and we acted in line with industry best practices to protect both parties.

To clarify a serious point: we do not store any credit card data and cannot charge any card without a new order being placed. That claim is factually incorrect and unfairly misrepresents how our systems operate.

The refund was processed promptly, and the suggestion that we were evasive or unprofessional doesn’t align with the communication or service provided.

We stand by how this was handled and remain committed to fair, respectful service during our posted business hours.

Avoid like the plague.

My goodness what an exhausting experience.

I ordered some syrup and a pump for my partner’s birthday two weeks in advance. Needless to say, it didn’t arrive by then.

The order was shown in processing for a full month, during which time they

1) did not respond to my emails inquiring about the status
2) did not answer phone calls during their business hours or respond to messages left on their voice mail
3) the only way to get in touch with them was a live chat feature that is open random hours during the day — I’m assuming it’s the same as their phone hours, 9-3 Tuesday through Thursday, and even then, you’re lucky if someone responds, and if you work during the day, you’re screwed

My partners gift finally arrived a full month later (aka, missing her birthday by a few weeks) after 2 or 3 interactions with the live chat rep who was helpful, but it required me demanding the status of my order.

Lo and behold, the pump was missing, and the first offer to make up for it was complimentary shipping on my next order.

If you can’t respond to emails, don’t answer phone calls, don’t monitor your chat outside of Tuesdays through Thursdays in the afternoon, am I really, truly going to place another order?

All of this could have been avoided with the tiniest morsel of communication - “hey, your order is delayed due to X”, things happen, I totally get it! — but instead, they’re just creating these frustrating experiences by making it so incredibly hard to get any info as to what is going on.

Don’t waste your money or your time here. I hate writing bad reviews. I really do. But the fact that SodaSyrup.ca are responding with excuses after excuses (to someone in literally the same situation as mine!!) rather than solutions to the problems they are experiencing are indicative that they do not take customer experience seriously.

Vote with your wallet and go elsewhere if you value your time and energy.

1 Years Update

I have been using the company for about a year now.
Every time I have ordered 12L Dr Pepper I have got it every time.
I have ordered from them
• Cherry Coke – 4L and Dr. Pepper – 4L what I did not get but that was not there false
• Dr Pepper - 12L it's better then the UK one and is a good replacement for sodastream Dr Pete (Discontinued in the UK.)
• Pepsi Green BIB Connector with Tap But I do not get the Tap so they were happy to refund.
• Orange Fanta – 4L if you can remember what it used to taste like in the UK it taste like that.
• WunderBar Syrup Seperator and Cornelius Brix Cup 5:1 and 5.5:1 they did not have them on the westside but they were happy to add and work good with WunderBar gun.

Good thing

It arrived!!!!!!

Still waiting for my order to ship. Will update this review once my product arrives. Only a 4/5 at this point due to a lack of communication regarding issues with my order but when I reach out via online chat I was promptly informed about the issue. Online selection seems good.

Update:
My order arrived. It was extremely well packaged to ensure the syrup bottles were not damaged. The bottles are all nicely sealed. The syrup is good quality. Tastes just like fountain pop. To make up for the delay in shipping I was sent a sample one of my favourite flavours along with a hand written apology which I appreciate. Online chat service was helpful and agents were very polite and apologetic for the delay as well. I will most likely order again.

If you've ever dealt with an infant

If you've ever dealt with an infant, then you'll understand what dealing with this company is like. I only order from this company because I have no other alternative (at this moment). My complaints:
-They constantly lose orders.
-Lie about my order being shipped when it's not.
-Constantly having to check with them regarding my order.
-Always excuses.
-Shipped order without sending me email.

Dealing with this company has been frustrating. I wonder if it is horrible working there since it seems like they are intentionally sabotaging orders.

I don't recommend them unless you are prepared to be jerked around.

Never received order

Placed a small order on Aug 13 to try this place out. Didn't hear back from them until Aug 21. They Sent me a note about unforseen circumstances in the shipping department and they did refund my order and said they will still ship out the original order free of charge. Things happen and I understand. I was still willing to work with them in the future. But another week has gone by, still not shipped out and they are now ghosting my emails and online chat via the website. Will be switching to a local company in Scarborough Ontario that I have since found that offers in person pickups. Wish it would of worked out.

It's Legit

It took a bit to get shipped, but when I inquired via the online support they quickly had the order processed and shipped. Product arrived intact and packed well. Using as a Soda Stream alternative, product is as advertised.
