lufthansa airways-refund-transit visa

Dear Team,

I really appreciate your help with the issue between Lufthansa and me regarding my refund. The problem happened because I was given incorrect information about the transit visa requirements, which caused a lot of inconvenience.

disappointing end to my case

However, the procedure took a disappointing turn towards the end. Despite the initial professionalism, the conciliation body prioritized closing the file over ensuring the airline fulfilled its mandatory legal obligations. Misapplication of Rules: SRuV terminated the case under § 9 (3) of their Rules of Procedure because the carrier issued a "full acknowledgment". In reality, this was a tactical move by the airline to settle on a restricted amount that did not reflect the actual damage. Ignored Evidence: While the procedure was still active, I submitted essential evidence and receipts regarding Article 8 (Right to Re-routing) and Article 9 (Right to Care) of Regulation (EC) 261/2004. SRuV confirmed receipt of these documents, yet they were completely ignored in the final assessment. Lack of Independent Examination: By refusing to reopen the case or perform a legal review of the new evidence, SRuV allowed the airline to dictate the settlement terms. This effectively helped the carrier bypass its statutory duty to reimburse a necessary re-routing flight and documented care expenses. Conclusion:
While the service is efficient at the start, it ultimately favored the carrier’s desire to close the case quickly rather than performing the promised "independent and impartial examination" of all submitted proofs. If you have updated evidence during your case, be aware that it might be ignored to facilitate a fast termination.

Excellent service

Excellent service – Full settlement reached!

I highly recommend SRUV for their professional assistance in my claim against Lufthansa. Thanks to their conciliation process, the airline acknowledged my claim in full (3,361 EUR), covering both our alternative travel costs and flight compensation. Recommendation for SRUV services

I’m thrilled with the level of cooperation I’ve had with SRUV! Their professionalism and dedication are exceptional. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a trustworthy and committed conciliation body.

I had issue with airline, and I couldn't find any agreement with them. I tried different channels, engaged specialized agencies, but no success. Once I contacted SRUV, everything went smoothly.

We got about 95% of our money back…

We got about 95% of our money back without any lawyer fee cut, after ryan air initially rejected our claim for an alternate booking done post cancellation of ryan air flight due to weather disruption in Berlin (Feb 2026)

Highly recommended option to pursue a claim.

Horrible and long-winded process with…

Horrible and long-winded process with decreasingly positive outcome. It took over a year for this organisation to arrange a simple reimbursement of expenses incurred after a 24hr delay, which normally leads to further time lost reimbursement. Will never use again. Go directly to intermediaries like AirHelp instead.

Case with Lufthansa

I am very grateful to Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr e.V. for the quick and successful assistance with compensation for a cancelled Lufthansa flight. I tried for two years to get compensation from Lufthansa when they cancelled my flight in February 2024, and I was left in a foreign country without accommodation or any assistance, except for new tickets for a day later. When I filed a claim for the cancelled flight, Lufthansa promised to compensate only for accommodation/food costs, but they did not transfer this money either, and ignored any further communication. Only thanks to
Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr e.V., the case was reopened and within 1 month a compromise agreement was reached. By the way, Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr e.V. did not charge any mediation fees. I sincerely recommend this company to everyone who has been affected by airlines.
