Using SOFI through Credit Karma was so easy!

Using SOFI through Credit Karma I received the lowest interest rate!! The approval process took a minute and I received the money in my bank account in less than 24 hours. I was really impressed how easy the entire process went!! Their app is so easy to use!! I highly recommend them!!

At first this company was great

At first this company was great. My wife got sick. I like to use debt in an emergency because it’s better than debit. It’s safer. My credit score dropped using increase debt. I paid off all my cards, including my Sofi credit card after all said and done. These scumbags lowered my credit limit by thousands. Which lowered my credit score more. This company does not want you to pay off their cards. Hopefully soon my credit score will get back high again. I closed the account. I have numerous other cards and I was not punished for paying off the debts.

Absolutely unacceptable experience

Absolutely unacceptable experience. SoFi locked my account claiming “irregular activity,” provided no clear explanation, and then refused to actually resolve the issue despite repeated contact. I was told conflicting information, deadlines that made no sense, and ultimately felt misled at every step. Customer support says the right things but does nothing. At this point it feels like excuses and deflection, not a bank that cares about its customers. I would not trust them with your money.

Effective Results

Enumerate disfunctions with this fintech
agency. I've tried and errored upon times to upload intellectual properties to their third party vendor/website & application, wasn't able to be completed. Brett the representative is my witness ( shout to you ! This a waste of time and was daunting, bias and frustrating to the utmost! Nothing wrong with my device at all...
This is wrong on SOFI's behalf for the intention to fulfill an experience that wasn't finalized. As, y'all's robust invaluable consumer, this entity might want to take advantage of being proactive with helping beings succeed. Who's in moot online or offline?

AVOID. Great marketing, TERRIBLE service.

Stunningly bad personal loan experience, still somehow in review after 8 weeks.

Fiance and I applied for a personal loan in December. He has been a SoFi member for 5 years. We both work freelance but have consistent and demonstrable income combined of around $150-180k/ year. The loan amount of $60k was below what was advertised to us as a pre-approval and we were quickly approved through the website. The loan sat in review for 2 weeks (it was near the new year). We finally heard from Sofi that they needed additional documentation from my fiance, which we supplied immediately. We even offered to upload our complete tax returns but we were assured that nothing further was needed. Then we heard nothing else until the loan was “rejected” 2 weeks later. When I called to enquire why it was determined that the loan application had expired due to Sofi’s own self imposed timeline and negligence.

For 2 weeks after that I had to call Sofi every 48-72 hours only to be told that they are still attempting to revive the application “at the highest level” and I should hear back in 24 hours. Eventually on one of the calls I initiated I was informed the application could not be retrieved, no explanation given.

Meanwhile we both received an adverse action on our credit reports, lower scores, and a higher debt ratio because it had been 6 whole weeks. Had I known it would be this drawn out I would’ve immediately gone to another lender.

I then spoke with a resolution specialist who acknowledge SoFi’s culpability and submitted the adverse action reversal. He also offered us an additional percent off our advertised rate for SoFi’s negligence. I agreed to reapply with SoFi and was assured there would be a dedicated person watch up ng this process to ensure the same issues didn’t arise.

I was called by a SoFi rep and asked to upload a piece of documentation from 2024. I explained to the rep since I had her on the phone that it may be more beneficial for me to do my 2025 taxes as this process had drawn out so long. 2024 wasn’t an incredible year for me freelance wise, but still contributed to an average personal income of $60k across 2 years, as stated in both loans when they were pre approved (in addition to my partner’s roughly $100k yearly income) The rep assured me that rushing to do my 2025 taxes probably wouldn’t be necessary and that she would give me a call before any decision was made if it looked like it would be better to do them.

That did not happen and the loan was automatically rejected within an hour of me uploading the requested documentation (documentation that had been part of our loan application since December)

I have been matched with 3 resolution specialists who all seem to be helpful at the onset and then just ghost / punt it off to another rep. My co borrower and I are now in a significantly worse position to secure a loan owing to the 2x adverse actions and the sheer amount of time that has passed. We had a number of expenses in the last two months that we were intending to use the loan for, that have now had to go on a credit card, affecting our debt ratio. This is entirely SoFi’s mismanagement. Maybe their personal loan experience isn’t meant for freelance film professionals or anyone with less standard income streams, but I am advising everyone to avoid at all costs and actively working on a complaint with the CBFP.

Sofi asked for a mugshot of me. Never committed a crime

I transferred money from Sofi to Chase twice. I got socked with a restriction on my accounts. OK, fine, I figured I'd talk to a rep and get it removed. The process was horrible, and included having to send a "selfie" front and profile - you know, like a mugshot. After answering questions and jumping through hoops, they tell me they'll let me know when the restriction was removed. I asked for that in writing. Nope. They don't put it in writing.

There was a rate switch from the quoted…

There was a rate switch from the quoted rate and there is a fee that they take directly out of the loan before they give you the loan so you do not get the complete loan amount. If I had known any of this I would not have taken the loan.
