Its always great to have guest speakers in the college in DkIT. Des came in to advise our IT students on how to create a CV that is tailored to showcase their IT skills. I loved that he showed you how you might relay that information and then showed them how you present it in their CV, in a way that hiring managers get a very clear idea, immediately, of the students skills, what software they used to complete the task and what the results were. He really gave us an excellent, informative talk and thank you Des for coming to DkIT to do so

Des gave a very insightful talk at DkIT's CV workshop. He provided useful materials for students to access and also use. He was much more helpful than other resources online as it was more specialised in the technology sector. Des reviewed our CVs and provided feedback and suggestions which aided me to improve my current CV.

Excellent presentation from Des, very clear instructions with logical examples for all suggestions for crafting a concise CV suitable for todays tech sector. His advice transfers well to all sectors.

I recently attended a CV workshop in ATU Sligo delivered by Des.

I found the talk to be very insightful and I learned a lot from it. After the talk, Des spent a bit of time with me going over my CV. An invaluable experience and I would urge anyone offered the same workshop to attend.

Lots of Excellent CV tips, Des focused on Software Development but many of the tips & recommendations are applicable to all areas of computing.

A great talk delivered concisely to really address some of the biggest challenges that students face when it comes to writing CVs. With provided resources, the talk really is the whole package and will hopefully continue to give further insight to even more students as it is delivered elsewhere.

Des gave my Course in ATU Sligo a talk on CVs,the hiring process and careers in software. The talk was insightful on what we needed to add to our CVs and Des offered both his time after the talk, to talk to students individually which was hugely beneficially, and resources to assist us in writing our CVs

Des recently did a workshop with 2nd Software and Electronic Engineering students from ATU Galway, embarking on placement. Des’s style was engaging, clear, concise, and accessible. He engaged very well with students, was open to questions and discussion. Des had a great ability to relate his presentation to real-life, using pointers on how to broaden the appeal of the CV and to keep it current using other platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, YouTube, Stack Overflow, and Hacker Rank. The workshop was very professional and very well-tailored for the audience. We would highly recommend Des for a workshop, he certainly has his finger on the pulse in terms of his knowledge of the software sector.

Des' platform Software Space and his advice was what I needed to resume my career as a Software Developer. I had previously struggled to get back into the tech industry due to a number of factors including personal circumstances. My first meeting with Des was at an online workshop for my university during my MSc studies. Software Space aims to give university graduates and other individuals the best chance in landing a role that meets their aspirations.
