Responsive company, beautiful guitar.

Ordered a G-type directly from Solar. Had a bit of trouble with the website (might have been my ISP) and submitted a trouble ticket. Solar responded within 24 hours (less when considering the time difference.) Guitar was bought, shipped out the next day, and showed up carefully packaged and in perfect condition. Guitar is exceptional quality for the price. Would absolutely buy again direct from this company.

Awesome

I got the A2.6 and it's amazing. Shipped so fast, I got it from Spain in two days. The guitar is perfect and sounds amazing. Very high quality and no complaints about it whatsoever. The fretboard is perfect, pickups sound great, no neck dive, and it's so comfortable to play. My new favorite guitar!

Ola is cool, Solar sucks

Im sorry. I really like Ola, have been following him for many years.

Now i bought my first Solar guitar and...well...They get one star. Their support seems to be some rando from the family or something. They can't spell, (Makes comprehension difficult) They dont know which tickets are mine, even though I sent them everything. They ignore ALL the info i give them in those tickets or that i tell them in my emails.

I will never buy a Solar Guitar from their website ever again. At MAX I'll buy one from Thomann or somewhere else. The guitar quality is "OK". I dont see a need for a second one.

False advertising

They have a sale running until the 2nd of December but starting with the morning of 1st of December, the items are already not discounted anymore, basically false advertisting.

Reaching out to support they basically just said that's my own problem

Great quality instruments however more thought needs to be put into the process and shipment

Overall it was a good experience I won't be dramatic. However there are some key points I think need improvement. Firstly, the bass I ordered (Solar E2.4) did not come properly set up the action was way higher than I would expect. And secondly, as I live in Britain (Britain no longer being part of the EU thanks to Brexit) I had to pay an import fee of almost 200 pounds which is insane I had the money and paid it with no issue however I was not told about an import tax at all let alone the amount until the night before my order was scheduled to arrive. If I hadn't had that extra money I would have been absolutely screwed.

To sum it up I'm happy with the quality of my instrument it looks absolutely stunning. However more thought needs to be put into making the customers aware of everything going on in shipment: fees, shipping time etc. And as a side note if you expect the customer to pay a premium price premium setup and service is a given.

Shitty brand, shitty guitar, shitty excuse for a Customer Service

I have owned several guitars throughout various price levels, from 80€ to 1600€. Schecter, Ibanez, B.C. Rich, Dean, Harley Benton, no name brands.
I have to say that my 700€ is the worst guitar I ever bought. Need to adjust a screw? It's cheap and gets stuck, so go see the guitar builder for help. Even for tuning it properly, I needed to see the guitar builder. I asked their customer service for help, but after they got the serial number, they said it's none of their business, because it wasn't sold through their online shop. WTH is that for a shitty excuse for CS? As if their distributor would know better why their guitar is impossible to tune than themselves. They don't feel responsible for the products they build when those haven't been purchased at their own online store. Are you serious?! Imagine Apple customer service refused to answer your inquiry about their Macbook, and sending you to amazon for advice, instead! That's BS!

My guitar builder was a much better help. He told me the saddle components are cheap, so the string gets stuck there.

Please do yourself a favor and never buy any of these crap guitars. All my other guitars use Floyd Rose tremolos instead of fixed bridge, and all of them were easier to handle, even when I didn't have any clue of guitars, at all.
If the company, at least, cared about the crap products they sell. But they don't.

Terrible quality control and worthless warranty

I ordered an overpriced X2.61 directly from Solar Guitars just over 2 months ago. The output jack failed, and now the guitar doesn't make sound when plugged in. I have this guitar that looks great, but internally it is worthless because of the cheap electrical components. Since I'm in America, I have no recourse other than fix the darn thing myself. I have terrible skill at soldering, so this is a frustrating task I still haven't accomplished. Solar Guitars does not stand by the quality of their products, and doesn't care when customers call them out on it

Beautiful guitar but QC is THE WORST

I don’t leave reviews often, but I wanted to share my honest opinion on a Solar guitar I ordered which is their top level models (not European) - Solar a1.6 vinter.

First of all, the support at Solar is super cool. They respond quickly and can help you with anything. That’s surely a plus and not many guitar companies are like that.

However, although I was assured of the professional guitar inspection before shipping, what I received was pretty low quality build for the price I paid (about €1.5k).

The frets are super ugly and done badly. They are sharp, glue marks all over the place. None of my Indonesian-made or Korean guitars had frets as bad as that (for this price!!). Man even my Yamaha Pacifica guitar I had years ago was almost perfect stock. Even the chinese epiphones have better QC it feels like…

Secondly, the covers are badly done. It’s minor and doesn't affect playing but surely feels like something from Aliexpress. The electronics cover is not properly cut to the shape of the hole and stick out. The truss rod cover lies on the nut… the nut itself is also not well done.

Electronics are done mostly fine. But of course what you can expect from indonesian guitars is also bad soldering.

That’s all for bad things. All the good things come mostly from what Solar did not do. Such as amazing fishman fluence pickups, evertune bridge. Well I’ll actually say that the tuners are good too (stock locking solar tuners). There are no problems with finish or fretboard.

And that concludes my review. I love how the guitar looks and feels overall. I didn’t want to order another one because I heard they all are more or less the same. What I ended up doing was taking the guitar to a local luthier and perfect it, basically rebuilding some elements of the guitar and DOING THE WORK THAT THE FACTORY WORKERS HAD TO DO WHILE BUILDING AND QC-ing THE GUITAR. It sucks but still, I love the guitar and I’m sure Solar are generally a great brand.

Very poor quality guitar and company that does not care

Got my solar t2.6 from guitarguitar in the UK. The guitar is such a poor condition but I got it after a discount and dont want to send it back because of the hussle if it. The neck pick up does not work at all the frets were much and yellow. And they’re are dinks on the guitar. Absolut rubbish of a company! If you planning to buy Solar guitar make sure you do your research. The guitars are good when they work but it’s one in hundreds. Otherwise be prepared to pay for repairs straight away.

Superb Value

The Solar website is terrible, so there was a panic when the money was taken but the shopping basket said the order wasn't placed, but the very next day I got an e-mail from a courier saying the guitar was shipped, and the website now showed an empty basket and a placed order with tracking.

A week later, on a cold and snowy day, the guitar arrived. Unboxing it, I noticed my breathe made marks on the fat residue on the body, but only in a couple of spots: looks like the guitar was played enough to test the action and no more.

Action is perfect with the slightest of buzzes on the zero fret of the G string, which I sadly do expect at this price point.

This is a very basic baritone guitar, that arrived in a cardboard box with no flash.

Frets are cleanly finished. Fretboard looks to be one piece with the neck. Neck is unmarked. Pickups are cleanly inserted, parallel, and electronics make no unexpected noise. In fact, it is a very quiet guitar. The pups are probably fine, certainly at this price: I will eventually get some EMGs to do the machine justice.

Flawless basic instrument. Superb value for money. Highly recommended.

Bought an A2.6ON from the Australian…

Bought an A2.6ON from the Australian Distributor was excited for it to arrive on unboxing it was obvious the frets had not been polished and were so sharp they left marks on my fingers.

Then the battle began, emails, phone calls, photos and 5 weeks later including threats of my guitar was going to be returned unfixed all because Solar ruled what happened which is against consumer law in Australia where the the contract is with the Distributor/Retailer not the manufacturer. Anyways 5 weeks after an hours worth of playing and a $70 fret polish and a complete setup I do have to say the guitar is amazing now.

It looks like the Australian Distributor is almost no more so beware of that.

Think about Ibanez or Ormsby or Jackson instead. Can't go past an ESP either.

Nice looking guitars, but no quality control

I ordered the T 2.6 model in white. Upon arrival I immediately noticed that the neck has a grove - or to be more precises the neck binding sitting somewhat lower than the neck, creating a sort of edge, very noticeable both when playing or just holding the guitar. When I looked closely I noticed multiple cracks on the binding around frets on both sides of the neck. In other areas there are small chips of clear, mat lacquer peeling of, noticeably around 18-24 frets area. Otherwise the guitar looks great and played pretty good too, but the neck issue can be felt while playing. In any ways I would never keep this guitar - as customers we are paying for a product that is fault free, cosmetic damage or not. This one verges on potentially something greater than just cracked binding. Never ever I came across a guitar with such issues in my life and I owned around 10 guitars, from cheap Epiphones to expensive ESP and Schecters. It is sad to see a guitar brand with a huge potential to be plagued with quality control and what's more relevant - manufacturing issues. Luckily I can return mine.

Solar QC ??

I just bought a "new" Solar AB1.7:
Nut was cut to deep.
Push pull as advertised parallel switching? No way, it was sc.
Neck pu measured 7k and 35mV~: to weak.
Volume potter leaked: still sound thru amp on zero.
Paint imperfections on body and pocket.
Only 1 screw on input jack
Alignment E string vs pu is a disaster.
Qc? My ass.

Solar Guitars are not trustworthy

I just bought a Solar AB1.7FRBOP. It does not have a push pull function to choose between series and parallel wiring for the neck humbucker, contrary to the product description on Solar’s website. It will not stay in tune despite the Floyd Rose bridge and roasted maple neck. Customer services won’t exchange the faulty guitar for a new one that matches the product description- so their quality control is terrible and worse they don’t care that they are ripping off their customers with faulty guitars. I would recommend that anyone out there who is thinking of buying a Solar chooses instead any other trustworthy brand. I wish I had gone for an Ibanez for example - I have had a 6 string Ibanez for 15 years and it stays in tune once the Edge tremolo is locked. It also sounds killer. My US$1,149 (plus shipping and import tax) mistake - big mistake - huge!

Amazing guitars!

I bought Solar E2.6 TBR. I was planning to do this for a long time, and it's finally arrived. It's beautiful, heavy, and feels really awesome. Great medium-class guitar for those, who love metal and angry forms. The only thing I'd change is pick-ups if you like really low tunings or want super extreme sound. I never had a guitar like this before, and I think I'll buy an 8-string guitar in the future from Solar.
