My 8 year old Solidor door began to split and as my installer had gone bust I contacted Solidor who instead of dealing direct put me on to CWG Services a trade supplier. They I must say were excellent... See more

The company guarantee does not stand with the product they sell you.
Now that I have a problem with my door
and is now hard to open and close becase it has swollen, im disabled so this is especially very hard to do,i say this to anyone who wants to buy a door from them, think long and hard, before you hand your money over to this company they make you feel that the problem is the customers, In my case they would not even do the right thing and replace it so now I have to live with a door that takes some force to close and open, yes it has been adjusted but because it is swollen it does not solve the problem.
so I now have to use my back door because it's easier to use, and I cannot afford to replace a front door, solidor you have been a nightmare of a company.

We'd been having problems with our recently fitted barn door. Steve arrived at the appointed time and took time to diagnose what was causing our problem, since his visit we've experienced no further issues.
Thanks a job well done, would certainly recommend Solidor.

Replaced old front door from the 1930s. Big choice of colours and glazing. Solid door with minimum maintenance. Good lock fitted too.

The Solidor composite door and side panel look great and work well. I used the Solidor website to find an approved installer. The installer completed the work on time and to budget but there is a residual issue which they have promised to rectify.

I had a problem with my door, and they refuse to answer even a simple technical question about it.
But worst of all is the door itself. I have always had a Yale type door. Been married 50 years. When you close the door the door locks itself. A solidor door does not lock itself. It has an impressive set of locking mechanisms which is supposed to make it secure, but if these are not engaged it is totally open, totally useless. We have been unprotected on multiple occasions. Make sure that their doors will meet your needs. If anyone in the house cannot guarantee 100% to lock the door properly each and every time these doors are not for you, avoid.
If a burglar walks in through an unlocked door, it completely invalidates your insurance.

UPDATED REVIEW
We had a Solidor door fitted in 2021, recently the inside and outside cassettes framing the glass section have corroded and fallen apart leaving the front door with gaps around the glass section and not secure. We contacted our supplier with photos, requesting replacement under warranty. It was passed on to Solidor Customer Services who have reviewed the evidence and decided that they do not believe the corrosion is due to natural causes. On this basis, they are not willing to replace.
UPDATE: Solidor have reviewed the evidence and contacted us to arrange delivery of new parts (cassette and door handle) free of charge. The email and phone communication from Customer Services has been excellent: prompt and helpful, with full replacement of damaged parts. Delivery is booked imminently - will confirm when received and installed.

My door had started splitting after less than 4 years old and the company who'd supplied and installed it had gone bust.
I didn't know where to turn so contacted solidor. They were extremely helpful and even though they were not legally liable agreed to replace the slab. They even agreed to change the colour to one that would reflect the sun rather than absorb it. All I paid was for their installer, Rob, to fit it.
He has been today. Very professional and knowledgeable.
Very appreciative of solidor's help.

UPDATED REVIEW
I was hopeful after the response from Solidor below, but I now take this down to one star as we have got precisely nowhere. Solidor refers to trade village. I hear nothing from trade village and when I appeal to Solidor, nothing. I cannot in good faith recommend a company that prides itself on offering doors with warranties that then become impossible to access. There must be many people whose builders purchase doors on their behalf during renovations and then find they, the home owner and person whose money purchased the door, has no recourse.
we had an extension to our home built in 2023 which involved our builder purchasing 2 Solidor doors for the back and from door (in fact, he then purchased a third to open the other way when we realised this would work better). All black and completely plain. The doors would have been purchased in late 2022 and fitted early 2023.
Issue: We’ve noticed that the black fascia at the opening bottom corner of the front door is no longer securely affixed and need to rectify this so it does not become worse.
I contacted Solidor who advised we needed to go through the place where the doors were purchased from: thetradevillage.co.uk. However, they refuse to action anything as the doors were purchased was bought by our builder (for our home, with our money). Our builder company has been dissolved on companies house and he refuses to communicate with us despite prompts from
Us and the trade village. I have supplied photos and info of all the requested door items to both Solidor and the trade village but we seem stranded with a completely useless warranty we can’t access. I’m disappointed that Solidor supplies the trade village, a company with such poor reviews on Trustpilot, and really disappointed and frustrated that Solidor can do nothing to fix this under warranty given it’s an issue with a Solidor door. What should have been a simple fix has become a huge email trail and inaction. The doors are beautiful but this situation is the opposite.

Premium money for a premium quality door so I feel justified in feeling somewhat aggrieved by the continuing niggles we are having with this door after 4 years. There has always been the occasion when the door is slightly difficult to open from the inside, but we have lived with it. Then 2 weeks ago my wife and I came home around midnight, put the key in and could not open the door. Knowing that the door had these occasional difficulties I was not initially alarmed. However after pulling and pushing the door for several minutes I was getting pretty worried. Fortunately it suddenly opened. The installer was very quick to come and inspect the door but could not find anything wrong. He lubricated the locking mechanism he had access to and left with the door again opening and closing as it should. A few days later we had further problems following which a complete new lock assembly was ordered under warranty This arrived a few days later and once fitted all appeared to work as should be, at least for 1 week. Earlier today we tried opening our front door from inside but it was totally jammed shut. I went out of a rear door and tried opening this Solidor door from the outside using a key. Still totally jammed. At this point I am getting pretty fed up with the ongoing problems we have with this premium price and quality door. This Solidor has always been slightly unpredictable. Unpredictable is something I do not expect from a premium brand.

The door is very well made with a very smooth locking mechanism.
The door was ordered through Hainault Home Improvements, and from the planning stage to the door bring fitted was a breeze. The installation was very swift and great care not to disturb the interior decoration was taken. The fitter was very polite, ultra clean and respectful, cheers fella for all your help.

Using a professional installer I was recommended to use Solidor and confirm after installation that it was the right choice. All is great.
