Appointment with psychologist canceled, rebooked, canceled, and repeatedly lied to about it all.

I had an appointment booked with a psychologist named Allie today at 12pm after having seen her last week. I find it hard to connect with a psychologist but Allie immediately ticked all of my boxes which was incredibly reassuring. I had been keeping journal entries up to discuss with her alongside spending half an hour filling out psychological questionnaires last night. I was then told the appointment was cancelled because one of their customer service staff read through the online forms that the psychologist had sent me and they thought I was trying to get some kind of mental health diagnosis when the psychologist isn't qualified to give me that. This was not the case, my psychologist and I had simply discussed potential ADHD characteristics and I did not discuss any intent to diagnose such a condition with her, she just wanted a clearer understanding of my mental health. I was then emailed at 11:47am today, 13 minutes before my appointment, to advise me they have cancelled my follow up appointment and want me to reschedule with a psychiatrist instead. They didn't ask me, they told me they had cancelled it and wanted to reschedule with someone else. In other words, someone who I imagine is not a mental health care professional read confidential information from my dealings with my psychologist, determined what they thought would be best for my mental health without speaking to me or my psychologist, and completely neglected that I had taken time off of work for the appointment today that they canceled with 10 minutes notice. To make matters worse, I emailed them back requesting they immediately reinstate my appointment, highlighting that I was not seeking any kind of diagnosis and that they are mistaken and I am deeply troubled by their conduct, and was then told my appointment would be reinstated and I could see my psychologist now (this was already after 12pm mind you). Just prior to receiving this email, I got a call from the call center operator at someone.health who told me that my psychologist had an emergency of some kind and had canceled ALL of her appointments for the day. The link they had given me for my appointment didn't work anymore because it had already been canceled as well. At 12:30 I finally received the link to my appointment and was half an hour late to it. The psychologist confirmed there was no form of emergency and she had not canceled any of her appointments for the day, and furthermore that apparently someone.health books anyone with ADHD symptoms in to speak with their psychiatrist team and not psychologists, despite the fact that I do not need medication and a diagnosis I just need psychotherapy. All of this has made me realise I cannot trust this service with my personal information, I cannot trust their ability to uphold appointments and their responsibilities, and I certainly don't trust ANY of their customer service team who will make up any lie to get you off the phone. Thought it was a great service. Now I understand why the government wants to step in. Company needs to DRASTICALLY increase training budget for all support staff.

Systems are dreadful! Psych was great.

Actual appointment with psych was great, but the issues with the booking platform and communication with the someone.health team has been DREADFUL. Glitches in the calendar system, requests to complete onboarding tools which do not work and complicated systems for billing have added significant stress.

Just knowing someone was listening to…

Just knowing someone was listening to me & understanding. Looking forward to this contact continuing & hoping the outcome is just as good as previously.
It was a bit surreal doing this the first time as I have never experienced help via the phone to a stranger. Dr Audrey Fletcher is so easy to talk with and made myself feel very comfortable in sharing my issues.

Very flexible online option

Have been using Someone Health services for the past 2.5years. I love how you can read each psychologist's profile and what they specialise in and then make a selection of a psychologist that resonates with you.

Therapy from the comfort and safety of your own bed!

A comfortable and safe (feeling) way to step into therapy - highly recommend it! I honestly don’t think I would attend therapy if it were in person. I love being in my safe place as I talk through the hard things.

There was an issue with the time as I’m in QLD and forgot daylight savings was a thing 😅

A Positive Experience

I had some trepidation about the online option vs face to face but other than sound dropping out for a few seconds my experience was very positive. Being able to select a psychologist from a large team helps you find someone who is the right fit for you.

Impeccable response if you need help

Well first up the response time was almost instantly and the advice I was given really helped me emotionally and mentally and having someone to listen to all the things that have been on my mind that I haven't been able to talk to anyone about has been a big relief in a sence cause they just listened and didn't interrupt me or say I shouldn't worry they just listened and then when I was finished expressing my self with my issues and my stress and all the hurt Ive been through and the struggle of being alone with no 1 to help or listen to me was bringing my whole to a stand still to the point where I was making my self sick with stress and felt like I wasn't even human I had messaged and called like 5 other mental health places and in a month and a half of waiting they not once helped me or called me or made an effort in anyway what's so ever which was making me feel more worthless to the point I was thinking I'm not even human and when I found this site I got help basically on the spot within the day I had someone to help wich I needed more than ever I really thankful from the bottom of my heart that I found a place that actually cares about people's well being

I was feeing pretty nervous heading into my first phone call. The Dr on the other end of the phone was really great and I enjoyed the sense of humour and tact she brought to the conversation.
I'm really glad I booked my inital consultation and have already booked my follow up session!
