Raising My Grades by 3–5 in 6 Months

I really enjoyed my time at Sophicly. The teachers, Abdullah, Bindu, Hakim and Megan were always kind, patient, and ready to explain anything I didn’t understand. Their way of teaching made things much clearer, and they often used examples that helped me see things in a new way.

Before joining, I struggled writing in English. But the lessons at Sophicly helped me break down questions, structure my answers better, and use the right techniques (ttecea structure made a massive improvement in my writing). I saw a big change not just in my grades but in how I think and learn. My confidence has grown a lot now, I felt a lot more ready for my exams and even spoke up more in class.

One of the best parts was how supportive the environment was. I never felt judged for getting something wrong, and that made me more willing to try. After each draft, we were encouraged to find our own mistakes so we could understand how to improve our writing skills, and I actually started to enjoy the process of learning.

Even though I joined in November, the impact has been huge. If it wasn’t for Sophicly, I’d still be stuck at a grade 3–4. Now, I feel I’m working at a much higher level, and I actually believe in myself. I also learned important skills like how to plan essays, manage my time in exams, and explain my ideas clearly. My GCSE results were a 6 in English Language and an 8 in English Literature, and I was only 6 marks away from a 9.

Overall, my experience with Sophicly was very beneficial. It didn’t just help with schoolwork it changed the way I approach learning. I’m really grateful for all the support, and I know it’s made a real difference to my future. Abdullah is using my work to show new students what can be achieved, and I’m proud to be seen as a role model who shows that being productive and focused can lead to great progress. Thank you for all your effort, support, and belief in me throughout this journey it truly made a difference.

My experience with Sophicly

I had an amazing experience with Abdullah during my GCSE English preparation. His sessions were not only super helpful but also very entertaining. He gave me practical tips that I genuinely needed to succeed, and his encouragement helped me stay motivated, especially during tough moments. Although I didn’t get the highest marks, I’m happy with my good pass, and I can’t help but think that if I had joined his sessions earlier, I would’ve done even better. Highly recommend!

P.S: I sincerely apologise for not writing this review sooner. Abdullah’s support and guidance truly made a difference during my GCSE preparation, and he deserved this recognition much earlier. I am sorry.

My experience

I joined Sophicly a few months into year 11 which prior to that, had a passion for english but lacked the skills to utilise it into something much more. After struggling with english, i came across Sophicly through a friend and immediately joined hoping to see any success. Although getting used to how everything worked and where everything was may have been difficult due to me joining quite late and having mocks around the corner, i persisted and eventually uncovered a goldmine. Through the tutors and Abdullahs constant availability to help and aid any issues or misconceptions i was having and the Ai’s ideas which helped mould my thinking and provide ideas and different metaphors which allowed me to utilise in my mocks and my actual gcse exams. In just 2 weeks, i sat my mocks and immediately went from a 6-5 to a high 7 and a 6 and as i continued putting the effort in and utilising Sophicly the best way i could through the Ai and tutors, a few months later i had my next set of mocks where i achieved an 8-8, matching both my literature and language grades. Constantly utilising and manipulating the Ai to flood me with ideas, and heeding what my tutors said i achieved a grade 9 in my English Literature gcse and a grade 7 in my English Language gcse. Despite losing 10 minutes in my English Language exam, it provides a testament to how beneficial sophicly is as i still achieved a high grade 7 with lesser time and just the skills i heeded from Sophicly to still achieve a high grade. Through my time with Sophicly, i ended my gcse course understanding that i wasnt just studying for a number on a piece of paper but something alot more deeper, understanding the intricacies of english on a more sophisticated level. I was able to achieve this through Sophicly and most importantly the team that makes up Sophicly and im glad i took a chance to transcend my knowledge in english by gargantuan amounts by giving Sophicly a chance

Thank you to the Sophicly team!

If you spoke to me a year ago about my predictions for my GCSEs I would have said to you that English is my weakest subject predicted only a grade 5, and as a result the one I least liked. Flash forward a year and I’m opening my GCSE results eager to see that I’ve achieved a grade 9 in English literature, Sophicly not only allowed me to excel and achieve a grade 9 but also allowed me to develop and structure my revision and learning to achieve all 8s and 9s in my GCSEs. From the weekly tutoring lessons, to the fortnightly strategy sessions along with the key skills and structures supported by the WhatsApp and telegram groups, Sophicly allowed me to push myself in a way that was based off years and years of study all compiled to a personalised study system for me. Honestly, I couldn’t be more grateful for Abdullah and everyone that supported me. So more than a testimonial this message is a huge thank you to all of the Sophicly team, not only have I achieved the grades I wanted but I’ve learnt so much along the way!

Just got my GCSE results and sophicly…

Just got my GCSE results and sophicly greatly contributed to my grade 9 in English language and grade 8 in English literature. I am very satisfied with their way of teaching and how their resources are specifically catered to target a student’s weak point.

I have had a great expeirnce throughout…

I have had a great expeirnce throughout this program. I started 4 years ago and it has been very smooth ever since i joined. I actually started off with very bad grades in english and failing but recently scoring an 8. One thing I like the most is the effort Abdullah puts into this program, showing his passion for english by constantly improving his program and making special courses for us, showing how much he wants me and his students to succeed in English.

Great Program

Abdullah Williams has created a great platform for students to master English and he continues to make it better for the welfare of his students. As one of his students, I have learnt a lot of things from this program, such as how to answer the exam questions in a well-structured way. Sophicly offers three sections of this program, which overall help students master English.

Abdullah offers as much support as he can by asking students to schedule Strategy sessions so that students are able to take part in one to one sessions with Abdullah to seek advice and guidance when they may be struggling.

Overall, Sophicly is a great program, and it continues to get better and better.

My 13 year old son recently signed up…

My 13 year old son recently signed up for a three part English Course with Sophicly to be delivered over three consecutive Saturdays. Even before the course started we saw a very ugly side of the course co-ordinator, We found Abdullah to be unprofessional and extremely rude.
First of all he sends out all these emails and reminders suggesting the course is starting on the 3rd of Feb. Then he suddenly suggests they made a mistake and the course is actually starting on the 10th Feb.
The registration process is unessessarily complicated and repetitive asking to register your details for all three sessions of the course separately. On me suggesting the following:
"Not sure why my son has to register for all three courses, separately filling in identical details. He should be able to make one account which he can use to log in to access whatever he's paid for"
...I am immediately phoned on WhatsApp and accused of being childish and that I shouldn't complain about petty things, since children in Gaza are being killed!
Abdullah is a very condescending young man who needs to learn some manners on how to talk to new clients. I would most definately not trust him with my 13 year old son.
Upon putting the above review up on Sophicly/Abdullah's FB Page, I received a reply apologising for the inconvenience and behaviour. I accepted the apology, but straight after I was greeted with more insolence in that he described my posting of the review as 'pathetic' called me childish and ended with suggesting that 'I should get lost'.
Thereafter, he immediately removed the reviews section of their FB Page.
It's disappointing to see how low a so-called 'professional educationalist' can stoop in denigrating a new client.
A bit of respect and patience goes a long way, buy I guess that has to be 'learned'.

Further to his reply below, just reiterating, my message was essentially only a suggestion to make things easier and the process streamlined. He suggested it was too complicated to explain, not that I even wanted an explanation. I was the one who demanded a refund and I was the one who blocked him. This guy is nothing but a bully and compulsive liar. I fear that he has some mental issues that require immediate attention and treatment.
