Theft by SOU Airport car park…..victim…
Theft by SOU Airport car park…..victim was my 87 year old father, with blue badge and special assistance support.
Following my father’s delayed flight (1hour) we returned to the car park, with me pushing his wheelchair, with his blue badge to validate our free parking while I was in the airport to collect him. Although I had arrived later to pick him up due to the flight delay, when I went to the car park office I had apparently been in there for 33 minutes…..so instead of free parking for a blue badge holder we had to pay £7 for those additional 3 minutes…..thank goodness I wasn’t in there from the scheduled arrival time.
The member of staff was sympathetic but could not help. The car park management company are thieves, no other word for it.
£7 for one minute in and out.
£7 for one minute in and out.
APPALLING
Won't use Southampton airport parking ever again.
AVOID
Shocking standard of Swiss port staff…
Shocking standard of Swiss port staff today, bullied us into a scam for baggage although it was already included in our fare, security staff were very polite but swiss port wow you actually made my 5 year old cry threatening us if we didn't pay we would not be allowed to fly, utter disgrace!!!
Rip off parking charges
My wife collected me from thr airport and parked for 40 minutes. We left the car park and were charged £12. An absolute disgrace, park opposite at the train station or even better use a different airport
No wonder Southampton is a dead duck
No wonder Southampton is a dead duck, no flights landed in 50 minutes and it still took 30 minutes from landing for the bags to be delivered. As ever no staff in sight and obviously no desire to keep the airport open and their jobs.
Cala Dor Trip
Was departing from Southampton to Majorca on the 5th September. Our flight was due to depart at 20.40, However it was delayed until 21.50. We had decided at around 20.30 to get a glass of wine which was a house Rose which was £8.50 each and tasted disgusting like vinegar. We were also informed by the bar manager that it was last orders and everyone would have to shortly move out of the bar and that drinks would have to be in plastic cups. Her attitude stunk, she was so rude with her approach and her staff look embarrassed and uncomfortable. A lot of people commented on this and weren't impressed. Maybe she needs some customer service training and maybe you should reduce your prices on the clearly very cheap wine you are serving. Not a great start to our holiday.
No refund for car park when flight cancelled
We had a booking from 1st August to 19th August.
Our flight was cancelled 1 hour after check in and we could not get an alternative flight from Southampton. So we left car park with 18 days completely unused.
We have been refused any refund at all.
Complete and total rip off.
We will never use Southampton airport again ever.
We also recommend that nobody else does. It is not when things go well that you find out how good a place is! It is how they handle things that go wrong.
Whole experience was terrible but then made worse by this car park situation.
Never again.
Long stay closed so £405 for 7 days parking
Long stay car park was closed so £405 for
Rude offensive staff - laughed after refusing to open barrier
Appalling treatment from two members of staff at Southampton Airport. I frequently fly from Southampton and have used the priority parking service numerous times with the same vehicle - so registration number definitely on file.
On arriving back today - having entered the car park with no problem 9 days ago - we got to the first barrier and waited - it didn't open ! - So we buzzed for assistance and got a very arrogant women who demanded our registration number. We had to shout it as the microphone didn't seem to pick it up - she took a few moments to check then the barrier was raised.
We thought minor problem but sorted. but no !! We got to the second barrier - 50 meters from first and about 20 seconds - again barrier doesn't go up - again we buzz - again the same arrogant women asking what the problem is - even though we've just gone through the first barrier and she could see us from the office area ! We explained the barrier hadn't gone up again.
This time she asks for our reference from the booking - not something I have immediately to hand we just arrived back from 9 days away. Provided the registration number and explained we had booked priority parking and done so numerous times before.
The barrier was not showing any amount owing - just not opening. Despite having already let us through the first gate, the women seemed to think this was a game and disconnected the call laughing / cackling.
We looked around and saw the women and a young man in the office - the young man came out and said that the registration wasn't showing any booking ever on their system. I pointed out that the system also wasn't demanding any payment and seemingly the women found something to let us through the first barrier. The speaker on the side blared on and the women could be heard laughing and cackling again and shouting abuse !
We noted to the young man that she that she was being very unprofessional and abusive - the young man simply advised she wouldn't be there much longer - as if she was leaving or being fired and therefore thought she'd cause as much havoc as possible blocking customers exit.
We requested the name of the women - the young man refused. We requested his name and explained we wished to refer to the women and him in the complaint that would follow - again refused.
We pointed out to the young man that we'd paid for priority parking and done so numerous times and could not believe our registration did not show up.
I explained to the young man I was disabled and needed to get home to take medication and that he could either open the barrier or I would call the police.
He returned to the office and then announced on the speaker that reg number NP????? was not on the system. But that wasn't our registration (nothing like it !!! ) - which was clearly visible on the front and back of the vehicle and had been given to these two staff several times at this point. Clearly they were intent on being as difficult as possible.
The young man returned and by this time (about 15 minutes delay at the second barrier) my wife had dug her phone out and pulled up the email confirming the booking - clearly showing our car registration. He went back to the office.
We were then instructed to reverse and then a bit more and then a bit more - again like someone was bored and just wanted to play with people. We were told to approach the barrier again for it to recognise the number plate - it didn't !
I waved for him to come back to the car as I was disabled and couldn't hear half of what came out of the speaker as the women had begun cackling and shouting abuse again. He refused ! - Really helpful for a disabled customer !
Finally with no explanation he opened the barrier.
Once through we stopped the car and my wife returned the the office to request the head office address for complaints - the young man stated he didn't know it. The women just laughed - could hear her from the car shouting abuse.
Truly appalling experience from two people who really didn't care at all and were as lazy as they were abusive. The women seemed to be taking great joy from delaying us leaving even though she must have had some records to have allowed us through the first barrier !!!! Her abuse was appalling as was her attitude and manner. The young man was not directly abusive but was completely unhelpful and evasive and made things as difficult as possible - whether under the influence of the women or as part of their "game" is unknown. But both deserve to be fired.
Hassle free parking!
Hassle free parking experience! Booked online for an early morning domestic flight, easy to find, clear directions given on the booking confirmation, drove upto the barrier and plate recognition means no ticket hassle, drove straight upto the first floor and loads of spaces, a short walk to the terminal, no hassle on exit too, was about £50 for the day for what seemed to be secure, under cover parking, priority parking for about another tenner but didn’t need it. Fab experience and value for money in my opinion
What a bloody rip off!!
What a bloody rip off!!! why would anyone want to flight out from this airport. How is it cheaper to park in Heathrow than this?
Ripped off by Apcoa at Southampton Airport
Charged £65 for a 1.5 hour stay!! No wonder there are so many bad reviews for Southampton Airport Parking. No surprise when the airport outsources its parking to a company with the reputation of APCOA. Southampton Airport, you need to rethink your parking provider. You are doing your customers a great disservice.
Rip off parking costs
Tried to book parking for same day and online quote came up as £144 for three days - what a rip off !
I used Just Park @£20 for parking local and got a taxi to and from airport - cut the price down to to £55 all in.
Wil use another airport in future and NOT Southampton
Ridiculous Charges - dropping off/collecting passenger
I went to pick up my niece today. You have to go into to the car park to do this -£6. The ticket receipt confirmed I was there three minutes! Absolute disgrace to charge that much. Surely one should be able to have 5-10 minutes free to safely collect a passenger. Adding an extra £12 to a flight (dropping off and picking up £6 each time) is not the way to encourage people to use a local airport.
When plane was delayed and needed to…
When plane was delayed and needed to extend parking, website very unhelpful, no answer to many calls made to phone number and no answer to email for days. Ended up being charged £48 pounds for an additional 24 hours parking. Wouldn’t recommend parking here
Rubbish do not careReally poor experience car got knocked…
Really poor experience car got knocked no details left The person in the office by the barrier Said nothing to do with them. Car park management wouldn’t even check there cameras. Even though could tell them the time it happened. Cost £80 to park and £360 got the damage.
APCOA's charges are immoral
Collected family members from Southampton Airport, one of whom is an Autistic teenager. I tracked the progress of the flight and baggage offload on the Southampton Airport website. When it showed that the Bergerac flight baggage was on the carousel I drove into the car park and parked in the drop off/pick up area. I know the Airport well so felt confident my family would be with me within the 20 minutes allocated at a cost of £6. My niece messaged me to advise they were waiting by the carousel but there was no sign of any baggage. They waited 10 - 15 minutes! Ultimately I was charged £12 for 21 minutes. My receipt shows me as arriving at 1854 and leaving at 1915! This delay was due entirely to the loading of the luggage on to the carousel. With an Autistic child, or adult, events like this are a major issue. I complained to APCOA and have received a cold, heartless and indifferent reply. This company is damaging the reputation of what otherwise is a super Airport.
What a dump of an airport
What a dump of an airport. They expect their passengers to pay £6 to be dropped off at the airport that will be because the capitalist pigs are so greedy, they will do anything to reach out and take money from your pocket.
Excellent Service
Friendly & polite staff. Their communication was excellent - phoning me to be sure we were heading for the right place.
When my car wouldn't start on my return they got me going in 5 minutes with jump leads. They are great !
An absolutely disgusting rip-off
What an absolutely discussing rip-off! I haven’t flown from Soton airport since before covid, but first went to book online. Saw messages “no spaces available” (short stay, priority parking, or long stay). Tried several times in case this was a simple error. Not so. Allowed enough time in case the car park had closed. It wasn’t. I parked up on a Tuesday and arrived back just 3 days later, today, Thursday 11 May. £135 was displayed on the ticket machine. Thinking this may be an error, I tried a different machine. Still £135. On the few structure at exit, it did say £45/day for ‘Priority Parking’ (I just used regular parking). What could I do? I had to pay. I did, however, pull up just before exit at ‘Customer Services’, to query this. In short summary, the response implied that it was simply my tough luck. Disgraceful! No wonder they already have such appalling reviews! Clearly they do not care.
