Excellent Service
Friendly & polite staff. Their communication was excellent - phoning me to be sure we were heading for the right place.
When my car wouldn't start on my return they got me going in 5 minutes with jump leads. They are great !
An absolutely disgusting rip-off
What an absolutely discussing rip-off! I haven’t flown from Soton airport since before covid, but first went to book online. Saw messages “no spaces available” (short stay, priority parking, or long stay). Tried several times in case this was a simple error. Not so. Allowed enough time in case the car park had closed. It wasn’t. I parked up on a Tuesday and arrived back just 3 days later, today, Thursday 11 May. £135 was displayed on the ticket machine. Thinking this may be an error, I tried a different machine. Still £135. On the few structure at exit, it did say £45/day for ‘Priority Parking’ (I just used regular parking). What could I do? I had to pay. I did, however, pull up just before exit at ‘Customer Services’, to query this. In short summary, the response implied that it was simply my tough luck. Disgraceful! No wonder they already have such appalling reviews! Clearly they do not care.
Drop off rip off
‘Dropped’ a couple of friends at Southampton Airport which took me a total of 3 minutes and 30 seconds (you have to enter and drive through the car park). It cost me £4. I know the airline industry was hit hard by Covid, but this is just ripping people off, plus I’m sure the barrier I drove through said there was no charge up to 30 minutes. I expect to pay when I’m collecting as I’m taking up a parking space, but this is ridiculous.
Drop off fee - no alternative - its a scam
How about 'booking a room, and being told you have to pay for the key. A similar situation when dropping a passenger off at the airport. Let me explain: Arriving at the airport is an essential part of the air travel experience. For many, this means using a vehicle 'drop-off-point'. At Southampton airport this requires a customer using the short-term car park 'drop-off-point'. When this happens the car driver is confronted with signage which makes it explicitly clear they must use the recognised 'drop-off-point', other they may face a fine. However, when they actually use the 'drop-off-point' they must pay £4.00 for doing so. At other airports an alternative is provided,
which sometimes means a passenger having to walk a short distance - or taking a short bus ride, but avoiding a set fee charged by the airport. No such alternative is offered at Southampton. I was therefore simply coerced into using the facility. I must therefore conclude, the airport operates a contrived process to charge for an essential service whilst offering no alternative to the customer. I have written to the airport asking if there is a drop off alternative, none was provided.
£4 to pick up my family!
£4 to pick up my family with young kids from the airport, I was in the car park for 5mins. Daylight robbery! I'm afraid next time I'll have to ask them to walk down the road for collection as I won't let them get away with this, I truly hope others do the same and they make considerably less than they did before hiking prices!
Easy to book nice size spaces
Easy to book nice size spaces, easy to manage your booking
£4 for a 1minute drop-off
£4 for a 1minute drop-off. That's 100% increase from last visit and it was a rip-off even then!
Terrible services for a Friday night
Terrible services for a Friday night. Only thing open at 7.30 is the WHSmith. Their restaurant is shut, so is the Costa. Facilities are terrible.
Booked priority parking for a trip to…
Booked priority parking for a trip to Guernsey. It could not have gone better. We had thought of booking a taxi but our local firms are not reliable hence we booked parking. OK it's a bit expensive but it's totally worth it, arrived on time straight into the priority area with the one ticket. One minute to the terminal, wide parking spaces, big tick, same returning, got our bags and were out of Southampton airport and on the road in a couple of minutes, would use again.
Good and Bad Points
Good Points
Carpark is very close to the airport. Parking was easy.
Bad points
Leaving was a lot more difficult!!
I had prebooked and prepaid but on leaving carpark the barrier tried to charge me £180 for my stay. I had to get assistance to leave carpark.
This was happening to other customers and hence a long queue/wait to leave the carpark.
A brilliant service
I have looked at some negative reviews and suspect they have Googled "Southampton Airport parking". This brings up numerous companies with similar names. The first one in the list "offering a "60% discount" is a perfect example. Companies can pay Google a premium price to get to the top of the listing. You need to look for the URL: southamptonairport.com
Having made that clear, I would just like to say I have used this service for years using the first of the three short term options. I always book for seven days as we normally go to France every year for one week (Covid excepting). Apart from an extremely reasonable cost you have the option to cancel or amend a booking up to the day prior to travel. On the one occasion we had to cancel we received an immediate refund.
I have just booked again for June this year which made me think it was about time I provided my experience of what I consider an excellent service.
(It's a pity Southampton Airport have not elected to receive auto copies of reviews as I would have liked them to see my review.)
Cheap to park for a long weekend away
Cheap to park for a long weekend away! Come back and car was not damaged and very spacious.
Avoid at all costs!
Avoid at all costs!
Very difficult to locate "near" Southampton airport, Wrens farms is 30mins travel from Southampton airport. Very busy traffic all hours. Cheaper to park at Southampton airport. Do not refund.
Still waiting a refund from my March…
Still waiting a refund from my March booking. They don't respond to emails - no customer care.
Searching for a refund
Used them for many years for flights to Guernsey and generally been good if a little pricey.
I had 2 flights booked for March and April which were cancelled due to COVID. I cancelled my bookings in mid March but still waiting for refund. Was told on April 24th the refund would be in my account in 10 days. Still waiting a month later ...
Appreciate it is testing times for businesses but over 70 days to get a refund is just cynical.
Full refund. Great service
Parking refunded without argument when Flybe went bust. Great customer service
Amazing parking service! Thank you John!
I frequently choose to fly via this airport over other closer ones to me (I live in Gloucester). This is because the long stay parking is so easy and reasonably priced. I have also had 5* treatment today upon travelling back from Jersey. I have an electric car and the parking attendant John went out of his way to get me plugged in in the short stay car park free of charge. There was also a weekend where I forgot to shut my window and I came back to find one of the attendants had sealed it with plastic for me! Thank you!
Southampton airport parking
My return flight from guernsey got cancelled due to poor conditions and as a result I had to book additional parking for two more separate days. This cost me an additional £72 on top of the £25 I originally paid for the 3 days parking I had originally booked. Whilst I accept no body can change the weather, these fees are ridiculous and the customer service area was severely lacking. How can two additional days ramp up the total cost of my parking by that much? I will defo get the train next time!!
Just a total rip off.
Just a total rip off. Should read 'pick up and rip off' at Stitchyouup Airport. It's easy to drop off and pick up at the railway station next door, very close.
The great British Rip off (yet again)
Absolute disgrace that you have to pay to drop off a passenger that the airport will make money from. I really hope that the profit that the money made from this underhand practice goes to some worthy charity like the C E O's new Rolls Royce!!!
Look at U S airports .. 30 mins free parking and cellphone lots so people picking you up can park for free!
