Trying to get hold of them left a message for Rhys over a week ago and he has not bothered to return my call.

We tried to contact the firm about work that needs doing on our roof. Their emails and websites didn't work, so we looked them up at Companies House.

The company went into liquidation in February 2025. That explains what happened to the 1-star reviewer from that time.

What a pity. They did excellent work for us.

Great Knowledge and advice, not afraid to tell you the bad from the good parts of a Solar/Battery system.

Advice is impartial, if you are not sold on a particular set-up that they are offering after review your needs they will adapt it to meet your personal requirements/budget

Not out to over sell any product or brand if they don't believe it suites you

Shocking Customer Service. Signed a contract on 19/11 and told installation will happen pre Christmas and now in mid February and I have no installation date. I am now trying to cancel my contract as despite 6-8 chasers they have never proactively or reactively contacted me. Starting to think the company is a scam but hopefully not

I spent a long time looking at different companies before choosing South Coast renewables. We were looking for a company to instal a lot of panels on a large North East facing roof, with a Solaredge inverter which would work alongside another previously installed set of solar panels on a smaller Solaredge inverter and for both inverters to charge the battery. This was the only company to give us a quote that said confidently that this could be done and they had actually consulted Solaredge, which gave me the confidence to go with them. Being suspicious after bad experiences with other companies I actually contacted Solaredge to confirm this and they had indeed checked all the details of our instal with them. They also installed the Solaredge backup system, which makes us completely self sufficient in the event of a power cut. The instal went very well. We are really pleased with the work done. This instal took place in January but i have left it a while before reviewing in case of any problems, and to see how the panels performed. There have been the odd glitches but these were due to Solaredge equipment, not the installing company and have all been sorted quickly by Solaredge. The panels, despite being on a NE facing roof, and not having a particularly good summer, have exceeded our expectations, increasing our solar output 4 fold or more over the summer months and the payments from exports virtually paying for our years gas bill ( we have gas central heating) as well as having a net zero electricity cost over the year. I would definitely recommend this company. I have contacted them a few times with various queries since the instal and always got a quick response!

Quote produced quickly and with good supporting detail and options for different panels and battery capacities.
Very tidy installation of both the panels and the supporting electrics. Bit of a mix up regarding installation of "bird protection" around the panels, but turned out to be my mistake as they had been included in another quote. SCRE came back and added them at minimal extra charge.
System has been working well (in spite of the rotten weather!). Electric bills already noticeably lower. The GivEnergy monitoring app is very useful and allows download to the battery at cheap overnight tariff and export to grid at peak evening hours, so should still enable savings over the winter period.
SCRE support has been prompt and informative.

Hugely happy with the heat pump installation they carried out. We were really pleased with the work and the whole experience with Southcoast. Jack in particular has been amazing - we have an old property where installing a heat pump creates difficulties and they were always ready talk through options where complications emerged and keen to meet our needs for the house as well as getting everything finished thoroughly and professionally. I'm glad we already have our solar installation booked with southcoast after this experience.

Happy with installation, the panels I ordered were unavailable for install, jack contacted me and let me know upgraded them to higher output at no extra cost, so thought good customer service.

Had 16 panels 445w with a 9.4kw battery (hanchu,) in February. Everything was great from first call to installation, no issues. The weather forecasting software has made such a difference. The battery does it's own thing charging and selling back to the grid on its own, I don't have to get involved, which is great for somebody in their 60s. I have recommended two of my neighbours to go with south coast, honest and reliable, can't ask for more.

From start to finish great service. Had a few calls with James originally who went through the different options in terms of batteries and panels and after the survey the system was installed very quickly and professionally. Could not recommend more. System has also made a big difference to my energy bills already.

From first contact they have been straightforward and open - the advice and support we have had thorugh the sales process, installation, and aftercare has been excellent. When we hit bumps or snags it was just dealt with - the troubleshooting and snagging from Rhys in particular has been remarkable.

A positive experience throughout. At the initial discussion Dave was straightforward and knowledgeable, giving me clear information without any hard sell. The quote was competitive and after deciding to go ahead, the survey with Kieran clarified how all the wiring would be set up. The in-house scaffolding team were efficient and considerate, and the panels and electrics were fitted well. Everyone involved was friendly and efficient. I received all the documentation promptly and the solar panels and battery are working well.

The service we received from Rhys in the office was excellent, no daft question was too much. The installation was expertly managed by Kieran, who knows a lot about all things Solar. We had a slight mis-judgement on the initial measuring, which resulted in our original panels not fitting, but SCR remedied the situation immediately, giving us up- graded panels free of charge. Invited this company, along with 4 others, to quote for the installation of a solar system consisting of solar panels, an inverter and a battery. After carefully considering all the quotes received I decided to engage South Coast Renewable Energy as I felt they had given the best advice and had proposed the best equipment. In this regard, of all the companies who quoted, it was South Coast Renewable Energy who took the time to thoroughly understand the requirements, explain the choices available and ensure the best choices were made.

The installation was completed within the promised timescale, due in part to the electrician staying on beyond the end of the normal working day to complete the system commissioning.

Due to my lack of familiarity with the system in the initial weekend of operation it was necessary to seek assistance from the company's support team and this was provided very promptly even though it was a Sunday.

The system has been in operation now for 4 months and is performing as promised.

NB. actual experience with the system has demonstrated the importance of choosing the right brand of inverter and battery when considering options for the use of flexible tariffs such as Octopus Agile. Some combinations of equipment and tariffs offer limited flexibility. South Coast Renewable Energy's recommendations were spot on.

My experience of Solar & Battery installation:

Sales - Rowan was brilliant, clearly very knowledgeable and a salesman, but also very personable and not at all 'pushy'. I ended up having 8 quotes and a large part of the decision to use South Coast Renewable Energy was my conversations with Rowan and the 'feeling' I got from him and the team.

Survey and post installation - Mark completed the survey and was just like Rowan, very knowledgeable and personable but also very professional. I was pushing for an install ASAP and at times the communication back from the office was slower than I was looking for, but on reflection I was pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable/realistic.

Install - The team arrived bang on when they said they would. We had other builders on-site and there was no complaining/comments, they all got on with the job very swiftly. The roof fitters were in and out before I could offer them a cuppa (shows how slow I was.....) and the electricians inside were great. They were happy to stop for a chat, give a little advice outside of the install etc. They were clean and tidy, everything was done as expected and works perfectly.

This is my first Solar installation so I cannot compare to other suppliers (outside of the 'sales' part) however the whole process was seamless and pain free, the product is great and we are very happy.

Rowan called me soon after I made an enquiry on the website, and arranged to come and see us the next day. He asked if we were related to another customer of his, and I said yes we were, my son had been very impressed with the service that he'd received, and with his solar panels.
Rowan came to see us and have a look at our property and our electricity bills, but very quickly let us know that it would not be worth us spending the money on panels, our rooves were not facing a good direction, there were shading issues and unless we had an electric car to charge overnight, we wouldn't benefit from solar panels.
We were pleased that he was so honest with us, although we would like to have got solar panels and he could easily have tried to sell them to us, he didn't waste our time at all and was very courteous and friendly.
