A duvet's just a duvet until you try a wool duvet from Southdown. I'd suffered from disturbed sleep due to irregular body heat for a long time (being a lady of a certain age). That changed overnight with a Southdown duvet. The weight is ideal; the 'lay' is perfect; there's a freshness to the outer fabric that you don't get with down fillings and, thanks to the wool inner, my body temperature can now regulate itself. Can't believe the difference. Are they cheap? No. Do they represent incredible value? Heck, yes. If I divide the cost of my duvet by the value of the good nights' sleep I know I can get now - it's worth its weight in gold. The pillows are a bonus. Plus, Jessica's care for her customers is amazing - you can have complete confidence in her (and in her sheep too).

Both my husband and I tend to overheat at night, even in winter. Spouse is a furnace! So, I invested in the Ultralight wool duvet. Spouse was rather sceptical at the outset.
We trialled it for a week and he was not at all happy with the slightest notion of returning it. It’s just been a game changer for us. We’ve both been enjoying greatly improved sleep and even on cooler nights the ultralight has been perfect for us.
Believe everything you read on the other reviews; it’s all true. Now considering a mattress topper to go with it! I love my wool duvet which is also beautifully made.

In February on a visit to Devon I called in to Jessica’s gorgeous Primrose farm. I wanted a pillow but didn’t want to buy without seeing. I am very happy with it and a few weeks ago purchased a 7.5 Tog duvet. It was delivered within a couple of days which was so impressive, with very friendly emails from Jessica to keep me informed of its dispatch.
I am so thrilled with it. It has replaced an old duck down duvet and I was concerned it may be too heavy but no, it feels light, cosy and warm. In the warm weather we had a week or so ago it wasn’t too hot and now its cooler at night I am still kept at the perfect temperature. As someone who feels the cold its a joy to feel warm and I’m sleeping so well with the duvet and pillow surrounding me with Southdown wool.

These Duvets are absolutely superb, after a little research and a couple of emails to Jessica aka “The Duvet Lady” I knew I’d found the right one.
The website Southdown Duvets gives a wonderful prospectus on how the duvets are manufactured.
The pedigree Southdown Ewes are spectacular for this high spec wool that they produce.
A huge thank you to Jessica and her wonderful Sheep for the beautiful duvet, the quality was absolutely superb and I am more than delighted with it. My new Vispring Mattress arrived yesterday and I was just super eager to get all the new bedding on to it. The 7.5 Tog was snug and a perfect temperature, and weight.

For years I have suffered from painful leg cramps at night, sometimes waking up 2 or 3 times during the night. I have tried all sorts of remedies - homeopathic pills, adding salt to my diet (not really advisable), leg stretches before getting into bed, wearing warm socks in bed. Nothing worked. Now I sleep on a Southdown wool mattress cover, which cushions my legs and keep them warm and relaxed. That, together with the wool duvet, gives me a blissful, uninterrupted sleep with no cramps and no need to wear socks in bed.

Awesome Duvet (Super King - Wooly Mammoth), replaced a Canada goose down duvet of similar price, although the way the duvet falls across your body is different with the wooly mammoth, the difference in quality of sleep for me was pretty much instantaneous. It's really a revelation, long live wool! The construction of the duvet seems immaculate. Customer service was also fantastic - responsive and very accommodating. No hesitation in recommending the duvets or the company - 5 star all round.

I just bought another one of Jessica's sheep's duvets as I'd over-generously given my first one to my son! Sleeping under a wool duvet feels so amazingly comfortable compared to a feather one. The duvet arrived beautifully packed and, as requested, Jessica had made sure that it was stashed carefully in my requested 'safe' place as I was out when it arrived. Super-quick service and super sleep!

These Southdown duvets and pillows are life changing! The duvet is so light on my painful joints and regulates your temperature so you are never hot or cold. The pillows are incredibly comfortable, and have helped my painful neck so much. Thank you Jessica for letting my husband exchange his pillow to 850g. Love my new duvet and pillow. I spent a long time deciding and researching new bedding to help reduce night sweats. An initial enquiry resulted in a telephone conversation and a few email communications. Jessica was very helpful and very accommodating about a potential return. The products are super high quality and live up to the advertised benefits. The customer service was fabulous and I am thrilled to support a British business.

Does all it says on the website sooooo much better than feather and more animal friendly. The pillows I ordered 600g we found a bit flat so have now ordered 850g and Jessica was more than happy to have them back and refund us but decided to keep them for our grandchildren when they stay.

As for the duvets... I am in awe. Seriously. I bought one for my toddler, and also a sheepskin to lay him on in bed, and the very next night he slept through the night without waking! He is always perfectly warm and happy, and before discovering these amazing duvets, he used to sleep with a feather one, and always woke clammy and sweaty in the night. As did I! The difference between feathers and these gorgeous wool duvets is absolutely enormous - you do have to experience it to believe it. I live in a stone cottage in West Yorkshire which gets very cold, but the Woolly Mammoth has been a godsend and kept me - and my son - perfectly warm throughout the harshest part of the winter with no need for extra layers.

I used to think there was something wrong with my body because I would wake sweating multiple times in the night, and I'm still too young for the menopause so I knew it wasn't hot flashes, but now I realise it was the feather duvet, what a relief! I also absolutely love the thickness of the duvet, it's such a nice texture and weight, I really feel so cosy under it, and the pillows are really awesome too. My asthma got loads better at night after I switched to Jessica's duvet and pillows, and I'll never look back!

Wow, what can I say? MY husband has suffered from severe nightsweats for 2 years due to hormone therapy for prostate cancer and hasn't slept well in this time, I also suffer due to the menopause. First night trying the 7.5 year round duvet,my husband slept through the night, we couldn't believe it! Amazing! So delighted we bought the pillows and now my husband sleeps well every night! Thanks to Jessica who was extremely helpful, customer service second to none. I would recommend anyone to try these duvets, you won't regret it!

Delighted with my wool duvet - its really warm yet very light. Great customer service.

I purchased a king size duvet a couple of weeks ago, medium rating (7.4) tog, based on the reviews I read on this site and especially because I have trouble sleeping in the warm weather we are currently experiencing, I have to say that I am really happy with this duvet that I particularly wanted right now this summer to test how breathable it really is. And it really is comfortable, even in warm weather; my husband likes it too. I was really surprised how cosy it would be given we were using the thinnest duvet we have and I was still uncomfortable, overheating.
Although initially unsure about the cost, I genuinely think this is a good investment for something you use every night.
Its also worth saying something about the service. Jessica called me because the duvet I wanted was out of stock. She was offering a full refund or to try an unused seconds just to see whether it would be suitable until the new ones were available, which was a great idea, The order arrived the next day and like I said above, the experience was worthwhile and I'm keeping it

Duvet and service
The order was acknowledged straight away and the duvet was sent very promptly, arriving within the week.
I've had it a few months in I can say it is extremely comfortable.
Don't remember being too hot or too cold at any time with it and I really don't know if I could ask anything more of a duvet.
