Had a leak in my boat resulting in a huge amount of water under the floor. Tyler reviewed everything he possibly could . After exhausting all eventualities, we both feared the leak would not be found. But he checked one last area, found a disconnected waste pipe and provided a repair efficiently. Result and high five.

After experiencing a very bad leak somewhere under the bathroom floor I called Specialist Leak Detection to help me find out where it was. A young man came called Tyler who was very competent and reassuring which helped as it turned out to be a big gushing of water not a leak as such and calmly got on with fixing the issue for me. Even having to take the toilet out to get to the site with no hesitation at all. He took photos of everything he did and made remarks underneath each photo which has made it easier for my insurance claim.
He also heard more noise after fixing the main leak and suggested it could be the main water pipe leaking as it was all joined along the drive and was right I had a team in to dig up the drive and lay a new mains pipe all done very quickly and efficiently and reinstated to perfection as it was block paving. I am extremely happy with the professionalism of this Company and would highly recommend them.

I am really happy with the service provided by SLD. Their quote for non invasive leak detection was better than local firms. The engineer completed 5 different tests to locate the leak. I would use this company again.

EDIT in response to reply from SLD below: I am beyond words at how far their lies go. My home is a Grade II listed building, and I hired a professional bathroom fitter who came highly recommended. Their false claim that my bathroom was fitted by a “bedroom fitter" is yet another example of their unprofessionalism and willingness to misrepresent facts to shift blame.

The one star reviews sound accurate with what I'm currently experiencing - rude, unprofessional and gaslighting manager. Paid high fees for them to identify and repair a small ongoing leak which, not only did they fail to find, they made worse. Water now POURS into my downstairs neighbour's flat if the shower is just switched on due to, what has now been found, to be a cracked shower tray.
The bathroom was not touched by anyone other than their fitter after their initial inspection yet they are claiming that we must have damaged it ourselves. I understand that things don't always go right the first time but what really matters
is how a company responds in such stressful situations.
Instead of taking responsibility, they are refusing to refund the failed repair costs, which I will now be pursuing through the small claims court.
If your job is straightforward, you likely won't see this side of them - but if it isn't, you risk being left with more damage, higher costs and little support.

In response to the owner’s reply on Google: The account they have given contradicts what actually happened. During the visit, the fitter confirmed that the waste did not require repairing. The tiles were lifted, inspected, and I was told everything looked fine, apart from the silicone which was re-applied — which cost £1,740 (plus an additional £684 for the initial inspection). No mention was made of a cracked tray or misaligned waste at that time. Despite this, the leak continued and immediately worsened.

I have been charged almost £2,500 for work that did not identify or fix the issue, and am being asked to pay more for further work to resolve what should have been addressed in the first place.

The company was polite, efficient and highly professional at all stages. The engineer visited the same day as we called and surpassed all expectations. He was obviously extremely well trained and professional, resolved the problem and importantly to me was very well mannered.

The company were upfront honest, I called a few places and the cost varied vastly, up to couple of thousand.

Excellent service we had an unknown leak we couldn't identify thanks to Tomas who attended and was able to identify it in no time and had it repaired worked until the evening to have it repaired credit to the office and the engineers!

A terrible experience, I would never recommend or use this company. I booked them to trace a leak. They called back and brought the appointment forward . I thought odd and when I looked at the Trustpilot reviews I tried to cancel. They were extremely aggressive and quoted their 50 percent cancellation charge ( in hindsight I was advised by CAB that I could have cancelled with no charge) so I let them come out. They could not find the leak and despite advertising “ if we don’t find it we won’t charge it” they promptly charged my card £450. They called me and were all over the shop in trying to wiggle out of this, again quoting their t’s and c’s. The engineer had visited and they said the charge was for his time ….but he didn’t find the leak. After a phone call they sent me a report saying it was the mains and it needed invasive action, obviously at a vast cost. The report was inconsistent saying that tracer gas had been located and then a few sentences later that it hadn’t. I sent in an official complaint and they changed the report to say it wasn’t the mains but a soil pipe!! They offered me £40 refund. They really didn’t have a clue. I note that one reviewer has taken them to court and won. I would just get a decent plumber in and not waste your money on this company.

Re clarification
* The engineer found nothing that we did not know already ie that the potential source was one of two places. He identified nothing we did not know before he arrived.
*There were no access problems and none were discussed. This is a ground floor room. So bar digging up a floor ( which would not have been done there and then anyhow),there were no access issues.
* The original report said is this”is this a mains leak?” YES and but the second report it said NO. I think that constitutes a significant change and further clarity that they simply had no idea.

Very prompt service . They arrived within 1day of making contact , on time , and very professional. very good customer care approach, polite and considerate
