About Spelly Spelly is a spelling practice app for children aged 6 to 12. Your child hears a word read aloud and spells it, in five games that go from matching a word to its picture up to typing it from memory. You can practise on ready-made lists or on your child's own words. Type this week's school list, take a photo of the worksheet and Spelly reads it, or ask for a list on a topic your child loves, like volcanoes or football. Words your child misses come back at the end of the round and again on later days, until they are spelled right on more than one day. Spelly also has School lists for grades 1 to 6, from sight words to spelling patterns, and a road of 24 worlds with creatures to hatch along the way. Teachers can share a list with a class by link, and students can practise it without an account. Spelly works in 14 languages, including UK English with a British voice. It runs on the web at spelly.net, on iPhone and iPad, and on Android, with one account across all three. Spelly is free to start. One payment unlocks unlimited practice, more worksheet scans and more topic lists. There is no subscription and there are no ads. Questions? Write to support@spelly.net. We read every message.

Finally stopped the spelling test arguments

Got this so my kid could run through their weekly spelling list after school. Honestly just taking a photo of the school paper and having the words ready to go saves so much time.
It does not feel like extra homework and there are not a million ads getting in the way. We do 5 or 10 minutes most days and their test scores have definitely gone up. Super practical app.
