Okay. Some very obvious loops which is not ideal. However the Splice interface is appalling. Fussy, fiddly and confusing. Urgently needs simplifying.

The sound is fantastic, as always with Spitfire. But the new Splice platform for using these instruments is really disappointing. I’ve decided to stop using them through Splice because I absolutely hate the workflow. I’m genuinely sad about it, because I used to LOVE the original Spitfire series. The instruments themselves are amazing — it’s just the Splice experience that has completely put me off using them.

I found a bit more tricky to install, and also didn't seem to have the option of where it would be saved. The sounds are ok, but why no legato? Would be soo much better with a legato option.

Two things i really love about this plug in; the sounds. I mean, haunting, beautiful, soulful. Brilliant and very inspiring. And second, the customer service/tech support. I had an issue getting started, and i contacted tech support, were fantastic, helped me diagnose my problem and since, i have had no issues. At first, i was curious about yet another interface, after kontact, the BBCSO interface, and LABS. But once you get instrument running, it does just fine. 5 stars and two horns up!
1 - not particularly happy that one has to use Splice for this - also that Splice, as many others seems to have adopted the subscription business model, which is not suitable for all composers. There is also the unwelcome surprise of seeing that so much of the Spitfire Lybray now goes to Splice. 2 - once again, like with earlier releases of solo 'main' string (cello, violin) the looped transition is definitely not good when needing to hold a note 3 - at first auditioning, the instrument had far too much vibrato. 4 - being the owner of a substantial number of Spitfire's libraries
The emotional cello is a good choice if you’re searching for a more expressive instrument: the cello in the BBC orchestra is perfect but sometimes in the score you need something different. And it’s not too heavy. I own also the solo cello that works in kontakt but it’s really heavy on the cpu (I have a Mac Studio M2 and I have the same problem also with the solo violin… but I think that it’s something related to the way kontakt manages samples, I never had the same problem with the Spitfire interface)
Gives me the Cello variations I was unable to get myself from the BBCSO samples.
Beautiful sounds and very useful in my compositions.
A truly masterful sound, full of emotion and a very clean and simple interface for making beautiful music. Highly recommend if you're looking for a warm rich sound and multiple techniques

The instrument sounds good and the GUI is easy and intuitive. However, Splice is awful. Not intuitive. I’ve had to re download all my essentials libraries and the process was not straightforward. I’m also compelled to go online to load any instruments, which is intrusive and unnecessary. Going forward, I will have to think carefully before making any future purchases with Spitfire Audio or using their products in my projects.
The Splice program has caused many problems on my Mac. I wish it stayed with Kontact Player. I will not be purchasing Spitfire any more…. I’ve spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on previous Spitfire Libraries…with no problems until now…. Why do companies change … Farewell my Friend!

Very good sounding but transfering it to splice is, pardon my french, a pain in the ass. worst handling ever.
It is exactly what it says on the box - an emotional solo cello. I was producing a song which was predominantly piano and vocals but it needed a subtle but soulful cello underneath. And this is exactly what I got. I have quite a few cello sounds in my collection but if you want a solo emotional cello - this is it.

Hello, If I could give a sixth star, I would do so without hesitation, because every single one of the samples offered is of exceptionally high quality! Thanks to Spitfire Audio for giving us access to such an inspiring sonic world! The only downside for me with this new plugin is the requirement to have an internet connection... Best regards, Pascal
It sound great but be aware… you have to be on-line every time you start using it. Did not get, or I missed it, any information about this. Will stop to buy from Spitfire if the do not solve this!
